This novel is just weird man, i cant even explain, for example the weird stuff with the goat, i didnt even know why that had to be in the story, and the slavery stuff just killed any enjoyment for me, and the weird crocodile attack ont the village that came out of nowhere. Plus now that i think of it why would williams grandfather even let him keep using the ring with no training, he almost gets killed multiple times but they ignore it.
