I wanted to like this. Overall this novel could've been executed much better than this. Maybe it's the bad MTL that doesn't convey the novel properly. The setting is interesting, a monster MC battling humans in an effort to grow stronger. First off, he really abandoned his humanity after a month. Odd. He had no qualms about torturing his fellow humans for strength. Second, his gold finger is too overpowered. The system doesn't do gradual power ups. All of a sudden he has 3 new skills and can go toe to toe with some of the most experienced humans? Nah. Lastly. Why the MTL name Flanders? Given the pop culture popularity, it's hard to take the MC seriously .

The sypnosis sounded better than it was. I thought it would be more mature, but 12 chapters into this, of course he receives a female sacrifice. Gross. Webnovel can keep this one.

This is a science fiction horror novel with a so far engaging plot and cast of characters. I encourage everyone read all 40 chapters before passing judgment. An alternate sypnosis could be: Lu Xin is a normal office worker who lives with his mother, father, and sister. He becomes involved with a govt faction dedicated to defeating the psyche monsters that have emerged. But everything is not what it seems, as Lu Xin is the most abnormal of them all.

I hope to see this one serialized. It's got an interesting world and there's a lot of mysteries in the first 40 chps. Like what really is his family, what happened to the orphanage/his past. Corruption as an evil has been portrayed really well in LOTM, but this novel has put a unique spin to it.

It's a much needed break from the same face slapping novel webnovel keeps picking. At the same time, some parts have made me hesitant to keep reading. Slight spoiler. When he obtains his pet, he immediately thinks of it as a woman..going through this kind of logic... The fox is going to evolve into his wife or some nonsense later on in the novel. It doesn't help that it's been tagged as urban romance on one of the raw sites.

I'll admit the first line of the summary and choice of novel image didn't appeal to me. While the summary sounds dumb, the novel is actually quite good, it's humorous and the main character has common sense. It's full of stereotypical scenarios involving the disciples/teachers of the sect and the mc actively avoiding any involvement. In terms of system, it's definitely not the golden finger that a transmigrater would expect, as it basically pits him against the world. If you like this novel, I'd also encourage others to check out 'my senior brother is too steady'.
