I think Saint Tyris is working with Asterion. Tyris seemed to know about Mordret and his reflections and implied that something was going to happen, when she said it was "good timing" when she learned that Sunny and the others where going for their 2nd Nightmare. Asterion would have an interest to have someone close to the Night Temple and is implied from Mordret that he is an oracle (also Asterion means "star" in greek and stars are connected to divination).
I just realised something: In chapter 500, the skeletons said that Nephis smelled like "one of the Weaver's". In chapter 588, Mordret said that Sunny smells like a Dreamspawn. I do not know how important this will be in the future, but there is a chance that Nephis and Sunny's connection is TRACEABLE!
I always thought that the first "cute" beast would be the "Vile Thieving Bird's Spawn" "resurrection" as a Shadow (the egg that Sunny killed on the Soul tree, the Great Devil). Which has not been mentioned once since then (not even in Sunny's Soul sea) and I find this suspicious...
Suppose all goes well and they actually get the ship... What keeps any Saint (or Master for that matter) from any Clan taking it? They seem to have the support from the White Feather Clan, but who knows what Cassie offered in return for it. She is coming out as quite crazy here. Like, it seems that the only thing keeping her sane is saving Nephis. I wonder if she will snap like Kurt if she fails.
Theory/Possible future weapon: The Gate's Boss seems to have the ability to control wreaths who then possess dead creatures. If Sunny kills him and he gets a memory out of it, is it possible to be a memory that can summon wreaths? If this happens, can then Sunny turn this summoned wreath to a Shadow? Is this too OP? (The cost for each Shadow is still 100 shadow shards). Thoughts?
Well, it has been mentioned that it is possible to take ownership/control of a Citadel if you have enough support (from a clan). There are 2 scenarios that I think would make sense: 1. Sunny "enables" the Citadel and then sells his "rights" of it to a clan. It would make sense for the clan to have a veil of legitimacy to avoid unnecessary fights with other clans (maybe, not sure how politics work in the Dream realm). 2. A few chapters ago Sunny was told that Cassie is coming to the sanctuary and we know that she is leading a group of survivors from the Forgotten Shore (about 200 strong I think). Whatever Sunny finds down there, Cassie has seen it and she is coming for it. If that is a Citadel and she asks Sunny to give to her and her group to control, I think it is the one scenario where Sunny will do everything in his power to keep it from her. Even if it means stepping in the forefront and taking control of the Citadel and her group. I don't know we will see... Kinda hope Cassie forces him to take a leadership role.
Maybe, but the last 100ish chapters I get the feeling that the author makes Sunny do things that make him look naive, maybe to prove that he is still human, and I am all for it to be honest. But this is the first time that his mistake is not due to naivety, ignorance or feelings, but lack of foresight and preparedness. Sunny might not be an all-knowing genius but he is paranoid and likes to prepare. He should have at least thought about this situation.
This does not make sense to me. This seems a bit of a long journey for a scouting mission (1 week). This would suggest that he was planning on doing this trip multiple times and that does not seem a wise. Also, he did not know how many coins he would find, but he was probably hoping of as many as 1000. Was his plan to do 2 weeks round trips caring 100 a time? And hope that they would still be there? Would it not be more logical to at least have a plan to carry as many as possible in the first trip?
RANT WARNING: Ok, I think it is obvious that Sunny has become quite more stupid than he used to be. Up until now there were some questionable decisions that could be attributed to a variety of reasons (mental trauma, ignorance, heat of the moment, fear, etc.), BUT going to treasure hunting without having a memory that can carry a large quantity of things (like Effie's bag) is STUPID! I understand it if the author wants to show a more grounded version of an mc, one that is not a stone-hearted dark genius, but this is a bit much! Sunny is not a veteran Awakened, but he at least has enough experience with hunts and long distance expeditions to THINK about this problem and he has seen Effie's bag to know a viable solution. If he could not get one because it is too expensive, that is understandable, but not even THINKING about that possible problem at the preparation stage is not something that can be excused.
Does one have to be murder crazed sociopath to be a bit more skeptical about a person that can literally tell him to kill himself and he will do it? Yes, they had a connection, even love and loyalty to each other, for as long as they were in the labyrinth. After that, Sunny lived alone for 3 months and then they cooperated while keeping one eye open because they were convinced that they would betray each other. Even if Nephis made him her slave in order to save him, she did do exactly that: she enslaved him. Do you think that it is normal to feel so attached to someone that has that much control over your life? Send flowers? Ok. Have someone observe end report her condition? Sure. Visit every other day, have monologues about how he misses her, how she is doing and when she will wake up so she can give him orders? This is not normal in me books and is closer to obsession. Also, when the cohort was traveling on top the giant statue, there is a scene were Sunny sends his shadow to follow Nephis' movements for training. It is mentioned there that his shadow was delighted to connect to Nephis. Is it that absurd to think that his Aspect is making feel attracted to Nephis?
A bit unrelated, but who do you all think will be the love interest for Cassie? Cassie is short for Cassandra, and according to Greek mythology she tricked Apollo (the sun god) into giving her prophetic powers, but then refused his love. Then Apollo cursed her so that no-one would believe her prophecies. Here we have Nephis, who is connected to the sun through the Spell, but we also have Kai, who have a lot of the traits of Apollo (singing, flying, archery, beauty).
