There's actually a bit of a problem to the pronouns in Chinese. For females, for 'she', the Chinese character would be '她'. For males, it is '他'. Lastly, for animals/inanimate objects, '它' is used. Thing is, all three characters are pronounced the same way as 'tā'. Lastly, for groups of people, regardless of gender, '他' is used to refer to them. If the novel was properly written with correct Chinese characters for pronouns (which usually is, I rarely see this problem with good published novels), I would chalk the pronoun error up to the translator (for translating wrongly) and editor (for not checking). Furthermore, this story's plot, translation and editing all suck, it's worse than the MTLs I've read.

tbh it's honestly not that sexist, but I can't deny that it exists. Females generally have less muscle mass than males due to the great difference in hormones that help build muscle mass. Also depends on how much each individual works out, practices and such.
