It's hard to write realistic and engaging drama. You either make it unnecessarily long - and people get bored of it. Or you make it too short - hence quite unrealistic. I'm quite a sucker for drama in harem stories as well, but with this being a fanfiction of a pornwha (not exactly a source of rational thoughts and actions), I had to balance it in a way that worked for everyone.
