Is there not even, an introduction of the MC? I'm kind of not used to this kind of writing, especially in fan fiction. This kind of confusing writing is mostly good for originals

As he boarded the Hogwarts Express, Harry found that he was going to miss the castle and its wonderous nature. Sure, he had copied a good part of the library during his nightly escapades using the cloak, so he wouldn't really suffer in terms of reading material, but there was just something about the castle that was just wonderful. It was hard to explain it. It was something at the edge of his mind that he could somehow listen to using his Arcane hearing, despite the ambient magical noise. It was something that felt like a sense of welcome, a smidge of affection, a home open for all those who wish to learn. - soldklad2dCommented

I will just chuck it up as a child's brain having a different biology and chemistry than an adult's that's why the MC is acting childish every once in a while. Also, the mc might be having romantic feelings for his "secret friend" which actually make him look like a pedo to me if not for him actually acting childish right now. Now I am feeling conflicted
As for Hermione, he didn't really hate her. Or even dislike her. She had made her choice, and Harry had other friends. He could respect that. But why were his eyes teary as he stood in front of the Slytherin common room entrance? Why did it hurt so much to see her practically admit that she liked Longbottom and Weasley more than she does him? - soldklad2dCommented
Kids are like that, always remember that they are kids before you give your opinion. Also, the MC might not have noticed but he might have "liked" her so he was feeling a little jealous or something, or just a little betrayed lol
It was disgusting, and Harry had seen the two boys practically insult her for months, and for some reason, she just forgave them, and practically started tutoring them. It put him in a foul mood, to everyone's confusion. After all, their friendship was supposed to be secret.
