Isn't he immune to negative effects?
You explain a lot how, even though he is strong, he can still be stoped by Dumbledore and other powerful wizards. Even Merlin has said that even though he is strong by today standards, he is still pretty weak considering other things you have alluded to, like Merlin, Morgana/Death, and maybe others... In previous years, he was careful, methodic, and dealt with possible problems smartly. He even let Nick go because he lost an arm and didn't have a choice, but was decisive to do it to protect himself. Now, he is strong enough to deal with Nick, but doesn't, not because a good reason, but because "he can do it at any time, so let's give him a chance to leave me alone". This goes a lot against his previous way of thinking. And yes, it's been 3 years for him, and some change is expected, but to me it just seems like a forced way to keep Nick a variable in the story. Also, he should check on Hermione. In a world with magic that can take your free will he just accepted her "betrayal" without checking anything. Nick with what he did just personality-killed her, and he is not even gonna check why this extreme change in her? She was one of his best friends! TLDR, the current situation with Nick being left as is, and not checking on what happened between Nick and Hermione seems to me like a forced way to make drama
It is because of the disonance with the MC from before and after timeskip. He is like another person in most aspects. Although the change is expected, since it has been 3 years for him, this dissonance is extremelly notable for reader, since we have not seen does 3 years. Before he was vigilant, careful, powerful for his age, but not arrogant. Now he is careless, arrogant, and underestimates everyone. As a matter of fact, I have been getting "young master" vibes from him, he only needs to say something like "courting death"...
His arrogance should be controlled. He is doing stupid things because he has some power (yes, some. He mastered presence and space, but if Dumbledore is "so powerful" he can ignore the law of presence, then he is still weak and easily killable)
This is stupid, all the way. Not only did they try to kill him, but also took his arm, and now since he "is powerful" he just goes "I will let you live". This is just to give Hermione a chance to redeem herself to return to the harem. For him to let her live is comprehensible, since she was a friend and although she betrayed him he may still have some feelings and letting her live may count as "we are even", but letting Nick/Harry live is stupid AF. In a world of magic where everything is possible, he is just inviting them to have another go at him, anyone can die in the right circumstances and he is just raising "arrogant master" death flags, and this time he may deserve them.
Now he also needs the Wonder Woman xD
Everyone: Let's go get Pluton! The system: One free Pluton!
Pa Kent right now...
So he is going to lose and nearly die every fight...
