apparently to show off the protagonist's "muscles". Instead of showing how powerful he is by making him face an escape of monsters from a dungeon or an invasion of an enemy territory that put his life and that of those around him at risk, he preferred to elevate Zola's power beyond belief (because apparently it can also make idiots out of slaves by leading them to purchase a rising star from the adventurers' guild and a friend of a person capable of repairing lost objects), make him an enemy of his own family and make him look like an emeritus idiot who has to get into a dungeon to buy her friend back, despite everything she has at hand.
I had already tried to point out to the author that the approach is wrong, but he continued with increasingly longer and increasingly unfounded arguments because this would have finally led the protagonist to show his "muscles" on his true strength... with this chapter at the end it becomes apparent that he is doing it in the wrongest way possible.

Yes, I'm afraid of it too. From how the story started I expected a very thoughtful and intelligent MC, who navigated the conspiracies to achieve supremacy through his technology and his intelligence... but he often behaves like an imbecile criminal.
I understand that you want to include this drama at all costs... for what, character development? But is it really necessary? Your mc doesn't need drama to grow and this arc in my opinion, is developing annoyingly. Only two of them have cleared 80 dungeons (and it would take a party of 5 to finish it, at least from Roxanne's story), at this point in any of the two stories in which environments your world should now be so rich as to outclass anyone... not just afford daily necessities. How much of those 10 million did each family have to pay? 1 million if there were 10, 100 thousand if there were 100 and here you tell me that the funds he had left (all his savings) were not enough. I can't understand the obsession with making Roxanne a slave.
and here's what I meant in the comment in the previous chapter... with everything they've done, how does Roxanne not have any money saved up? How is it remotely possible that after raiding all those dungeons and sharing the fruits of your labor you can't afford the tax the barony has imposed? Not to mention that Leon left him the funds he had set aside himself.
I know very well that it's your novel and that you make every decision. But personally I continue to consider this whole situation an absurd force and a useless drama. You've granted your character the power of "the force", a genius mind, and a way to earn easy money via her ship... but all these years despite splitting the loot in half Roxanne has only earned the bare minimum for survival ? I find it absurd. So far the whole leveling system of both Roxanne's world and the world where they are located has not been presented... doing raids and killing monsters by now they should be strong and very well equipped... another absurd and missing thing. In the end all this only serves to give the mc an excuse to take revenge on Zola (which he could have done anyway), to distance himself from his family (another useless thing because he can easily go on his adventures) and transform Roxanne into a slave ....
...in my opinion this chapter... is... I'm not saying this to avoid offending. Where is the money he left him? in all these years by now he should have accumulated enough to prevent this situation. Even a moron with Zola should now realize that if he touches him or makes him angry he will only suffer, especially if he has been summoned to court. In practice this drama is essentially useless and a waste of chapters.
