too much info on side characters. its annoying

the scene eith the kid is so annoyingly not needed. this is just prolonging a convo that should have happrned at the beginning of the chapter. the extra charactee is not needed in the plot at all. waste of words

i know this is fantasy stuff but the prior 2 wins are a dud. author could have done better. it only uglified and "idiotified the character and the audience

while it is true that socialites are cruel, they never make power moves like wannabe upper class. the way thus is written gives that vibe.

chloe was bult overall poorly as a character. one of the greatest assets of great storytelling is to make a strong villain who is up to par with the lead, only with opposing stances or views. these types of women are a dime a dozen and the way she acts doesnt match the level of sophistication in her supposed world. she could have been built as deviously manipulative with an angelic facade, it will be cliche but at least more acceptable.

who talks like this these days? i like how the cliche plot is used though. but they have such a power disadvantage. the way Leo is setting her up for failure. if it was a business eeal, she needs to know all the premisw. deception because he did not disclose the motive of the marriage request and chloe's involvement. granted, he was attracted to her even prior to all of that, he should have been honest. and that includes being honest with his mother why he hated chloe
