I think because this is her second life. It really depends on one’s type of skin. I’m guessing that you’re caucasian or so?... Based on what I observed from entertainment industries and real life encounters, aSians prefer fair skin tone, it is perceived as refreshing and clean compared to tan or dark skin tone. That’s why in my country glutaThione shots are quite popular to obtain a much more fairer complexion. Besides, common misconception of people about Africa is its citizen are all dark skinned. I had that thinking as well when I was in my younger years and had not broaden my worLd views. It only change when I learn to travel abroad and meet people from other nationalities.

Well, I would presume that most of them or people has prejudice... Africa equals hot weather and hot weather equates to dark skin. In some webcomic stories where it’s mentioned being sent to Africa as punishment, there it was portrayed that the person came back with darker skin tone after.
