I see so many complaints about nationalism on Webnovel but these people don't understand the language, the history, the people, mundane things are seen as extraordinary simply because it's not seen through the Western lens of anglo-centrism, because it's different from what they know. There is certainly a lot of nationalism in many novels, but then many things are also just an artefact of translation from the original language, whether because the translator is bad and MTL'd it or because they found it more suitable to keep it as it is instead of saying China, which it isn't strictly because this is an alternate universe so it makes perfect sense.
