I have to note something, the system doesn't force the MC to do anything. As long as the MC doesn't actively try to harm the innocent, he can just live his life. There are times in the story where the MC helps people, not because the system forces him to do so, but because he either wants to do it, or because it would allow him to grow stronger through the system. There is one time in the story where the MC abandoned an entire town of people, leaving them to monsters to save himself, Selina, and two other individuals. While he did call for help, it also doens't change the fact that he left them to fend for themselves. Of course he probably wouldn't be able to do anything even if he stayed, but he did leave a bunch of people to be possibly killed by a bunch of monsters.
I disagree with you. I have stuck around for more than 1600 chapters, and that stretch of time where the MC deals with minor cases IS important to the plot of the story. During this time the MC learns more about the system, as well as how to deal with various events. Most of the little fanfic plotline that you mention actually can lead to a separate plotline that is really important to the story. For example, in the Taken fanfic plotline, the MC meets Elena. She is a French chick, who is given realtively little time, but later in the story, around 1400 or later, her precense starts to skyrocket. In the Friday the 13th mini plotline, the MC learns first hand on how to deal with enemies that have supernatural abilities, as well as his inability to recieve their powers. Plus he also makes connections with certain miliatry figures, as well as solves a separate case that also leads to another mini-plotline, which then leads to a major plotlline that effects the story even til past chapter 1600. So far, every part of this story that I have read does not bring up a plot point only to throw it away a second later. There are some characters that may show up for a second, only to be brought back later and helping, or hindering, the MC. My biggest issue with the story would be that it took about 1000 chapters for the MC to only go through the first year of being a detective.
I completely disagree. Have you even read the novel? I will admit that the first impression of the MC is similar to a brat, but afterwards the story is fantastic. I have read up til 1600 chapters and loved every moment of it. The story is basically a fanfiction that has elements of other stories that is melded into the plot perfectly. There are references, aside from the main fiction, of other ficitions like The Wanted, Taken, RIPD, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, and many more. Hell I missed many references and ended looking up suspicious plot points. In addition, the MC, even with the Chinese background doesn't completely forsake his current American heritage. If anything this is one of the least nationalistic Chinese fics I have ever read that involves the real world. You should definately continue to read from were ever you ended. Once Luke became a police officer, you see less of the weird cringey/winey way that he spoke in the beginning, and more of a mature young adult who understands how the world works, and tries to manipulate it so that it works for him and his family. This story is certainly one of my new favorites.
Oh it convinently allows for three rewards after 60...
That is complete and udder BS. Regardless of the feasibility of the plan, I doubt it is the best solution. I mean come on... the MC just thought up a plan out of his a*s and suddenly that plan is the best there is.
I don't have any information on the competance of the police in this world, but I doubt it is really the police's fault on the missing cases. I doubt that the police will be able to find the criminals if witnesses of the cases are either noexistant, or are complete trash (by that I mean remember wrong details, not enough details, etc). The police could also not have enough staff, especially since this world has super powered creatures running around, putting a halt to solving cases. Furthermore, due to said super powered creatures, I am sure that some have abilities that are difficult to track. So putting a "police incompetance" label is unfair to the hardworking policemen. Of course it could also just be due to corruption or incompetance. Like I said I have no idea about police competance in this world.
I believe that this "bold person" is a misspelling of "a complete dumb*ss"
Hand-holding is so l*wd. Ling Wuque is the number one love interest.
Now that I think about it, the reason on how to get started is considered a flaw is because the technique is designed to have a strong advantage along with a strong disadvantage. The user can find a "flaw" in the technique if they cultivate it in a certain way, allowing them to bypass the disadvantage while keeping the advantage. At least that is how I interpreted it.
Idiotic... Giving a super serum design to overhaul the human body to general populace wouldn't decrease criminals, only increase it...
TBH killing someone for as petty as leaving them hanging is super extreme. It's like killing your crush because she ghosted you one time. If you want to regain your so called dignity, then be better than the person who trampled over it. If Tony trampled over your dignity, than become richer, handsomer, more sucessful than Tony, or die trying. If you feel that you are unable to, then you didn't have all that much dignity in the first place and should just continue living your life.
Frankly, Senzu beans, not only fills your stomach, but also restores stamina and is effectively a full restore. It being worth about 5000 is super overpowered. I mean he can gain 1 senzu bean by killing about 10 enemies, depending on their power. The MC shouldn't complain about how expensive it is condsidering that it should be vastly more expensive due to its effects.
I am putting my guess here. I guess the two women are the sister, and the cheating girlfriend. The male is probably the bully that was also the guy the MC's GF cheated with.
Is this a foreshadowing for the heros being the MCs bullies/sister...?
How would this be pronounced? Would it just be "Sit" similar to system? Or "Site"? Or treat the y as silent and say "St"? Would it just be "S-Y-T"?
I can confidently say I don't took 3 hours to create my character, the most that I can say would probably around 20-30 minutes, and even that was for the Sims 4. Otherwise for most games, like Skyrim and Fallout <5 minutes, <10 if I am feeling especially creative, which is super rare.
TBH the "Great Freedom Arhat Fruit Position" sounds like a kamasutra position. If you know what I mean.
This entire paragraph when entirely over my head and I counldn't understand a lick of it.
