Probably my favorite cultivation style story I have read so far. Well thought out with good pacing all around. Interesting characters, good story, a great world and from time to time a well placed comedic relief. It is truly a pleasure to read! The only qualms I have with this book was one weak arc and (IMO) a bad love interest story. That being said, this is still my favorite novel on this site. Definitely worth a read.

Let me preface this review by saying that I was absolutely hooked on this during the first couple hundred chapters. The world building made sense, good pacing while the world slowly unfolded. Sadly there is a clear downward spiral in terms of quality starting at around chapter 600 but not for the reason you might expect. When writing these kinds of cultivation stories, there are certain tools the author might use to bring the story forward in this novel, mainly: Fighting, cultivation, creating techniques, events (auctions, inheritance, etc.), new areas and new characters, just to name a few noteworthy. Now everybody has their favorite arcs and loves to read certain things the most (I love to read about new areas and character interaction the most), in the end it's up to the author to find a good balance of these things to create an experience that is enjoyed by the most people. From the start of the novel the balance of these things slowly shifted more and more towards the 3 things I like the least: Fighting, cultivation and creating techniques. It feels like there is always fight followed by minuscule gains that result in a marginally better technique that is used once. This will take around 10 chapters and will play out the same as always and then repeat itself. This story was done for me for a while now. I was just reading and hoping it would get better but it just got worse over time. I'll drop this novel now but if you like reading about fights with the outcome predetermined (MC will win and gain something) then this is the novel for you! Otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.
