The tasks and attributes of MC look way too random. Like eating 20 big mac to get the attribute "Big Mac gourmet". Plus it's not really clear whether the tasks must be done by him or his beast, what's the limit for the beast etc... I read up to chapter 10 and it seems really confusing and again random. I could understand about stuff like running 10km however the system being aware of brand names??? There seems to exist a second world but again it's not clear how it's connected to MC's world and it seems completely unnatural with the blue world being the world of beast taming and the spiritual world being technological and somehow it seems that spirit world is more dangerous.
It started good and I don't mind the idea of MC killing ruffians or bad people but I really do not like how he treats the brother and sister, MC became a plain Villain and for what? The MC has 10000 years to get stronger and to do so he just has to kill monsters in the wild but he would kill innocent for some golds...
First 20 chapters could probably be summed up in 3-4 sentences. It's the typical Chinese story where literally everyone is black hearted before MC rebirth and ofc he will take his revenge. MC himself has a pretty bad personnality. Can see hint of MC being a perv, selfish, sadistic and I don't really like him though he hasn't crossed that line totally yet.
Translation is horrible and hard to tolerate. Outside of the sometimes bad English, there's a lot of issues with names which makes the story confusing. MC is called "Zhang Shougi" but they decided to replace it by the name "Bell" using what seems to be the replace all function of their text editor which means that each time they refer to him as just "Zhang" it's not replaced and there's even a time where his name is written in full (probably in a spelling mistake). And that's when they don't simply refer to the wrong character when they are talking. The author also decided to take the trash talking and bad Chinese clichés to pretty high level. MC barely said a word in 6 chapters, didn't talk to anybody but he manages to alienate his whole school due to his talent, except for a girl defending him, a girl the bad young master is in love with and the young master that wants to fight MC. And MC did nothing, it's just people hipping themselves up for 5 chapters while MC is in the corner checking the system.
Story is really bland, MC stupid and half the story is MP arguing and being toyed with by his system. MC is supposed to stay low key but the part where he gets his level tested his ridiculous. MC gets tested->MC gets money and upgrade his level->MC gets retested and surprise, he got x more level in the last 10 minutes. Rince and repeat numerous times and nobody finds it stange.
Not even half a chapter into the novel, we already understand this will become a racist novel. Apparently China was destroyed by the players from Japan, Korea, India? and whatever lighthouse country is but MC managed to kill all their players before his rebirth. Then I thought, well lets look further, it may not start before way later in the novel, till then it might be worth it but comes the second problem and I'm only chapter 3. MC cheat is way too much OP. His talent allows him too steal talents/passives (that's fine) but also to multiply the bonus by 100 of every passive talent, buff, skill, system reward or equipment. Then right out the bat he gets -a passive skill that removes all cool downs but also allows him to launch 2 spells for the price of one. -then he gains a skill that allows him to add permanent bonus to his equipment which is also multiplied by 100 Then chapter 6, the guy already has 3 legendary equipment, he's level 20 while everyone else is probably level 2...
First 20 chapters, no world building, no real development of the character, just the shadow of a plot involving MC's mom. The rest of the time, it's mostly people calling MC trash and some random characters looking for a fight due to MC engagement with the "empress". Don't give a sh*t about the engagement or stupid random enamored boys spending their time calling MC trash, still waiting for the story to start.
MC needs to fight in the arena at one point starting at chapter 6 and chapter 25, the fight still has not really started. And aside for a couple of chapters speaking about him watching and betting on fights, it's been 20 chapters about him bribing to participate to the fight, people not believing he would win, people ridiculing him, people admiring him, people getting mad at him, people trying to break into the arena making a scene to save him. If you believe that list above is long and boring, go read these 20 chapters...
Yeah how many chapters just to hear people who wants to save him, admire him, plan to take revenge for him... I know it's the classic "let's make everyone believe he cannot win to surprise them with his win" but they're taking it too far.
Based on the premise, this kind of stories shouldn't even be translated. One more story which is only an excuse for MC to do lewd stuff with objectified women.
I think the reason why it's so prevalent in Chinese novels(while mostly absent from KR/JA novels) is something related to Chinese culture where face is the most important stuff. While the degree varies from story to story, the stories are not about fights but more about looking MC making others losing face while he's gaining face.
