It's hard to tell NGL, the setting and forces in Durum were a bit on the extreme end like they were end-game kind of characters. So writing them so early in the novel was a challenge. So I did what I thought would be done by villains in this scenario. I treated both parties as smart and made them fight. Even while writing the fights, I only planned the end results and some points, as for what will happen to the parties involved, I let it flow organically to the best of my abilities.

Its not, our hero(villain) is pretty much asexual and not interested in such matters. He considers himself above those basic instincts of validation and need to belong somewhere, he likes watching others develop relationships, but he is never interested in it himself. He even knows what love is and how it works. But he genuinely can't feel it. It's why he doesn't bother with it. A born psychopath with a severe case of OCD.
