I think the story is stagnating a bit, mainly because this arc comprises of Kana going back to a weakened state, much like the beginning of the novel. it is hard to make this kind of retrospective story telling interesting again since we already read it before.
I am glad that you can think about profound issues like this. Do remember that the character does not exist. The author is telling a story and as all authors part of his personality are spilling into the story. But I can absolutely see where you are coming from. But much like racism and other important social issues of our live it is better to nip it in the bud, before it becomes something undesirable. Just expressing my opinion as an ally.
Not mad, just concerned. Imagine you are a woman that had to abort her child in her third trimester after you chose a name for the baby, but heavens are against you and for whatever reason, you had to decide to abort the baby for health reasons. Even if you abort your child because of any other reason, it is shown that there will be permanent mental scars to the mother. Imagine going through all that and the going to read the novel of an author you enjoy immensely and see this kind of writing. How would you feel? Words have meaning be it fictional or real.
It seems that you have completely ignored my point and gone off on your own tangent. If you read my comment carefully. I wasn't commenting on the ideology of the author, but the harm that it could cause fellow human beings. please don't get defensive as I did not intend to undermine your point. First of no harm, that is what we go by.
There is a big fallacy with your statement there. There are not that many murderers are reading this novel, as they are rare. But you can expect a portion of the readership to be women. I women had to go through the horror of abortion and have to read that they are horrible in their place of scape, that is inappropriate. This is not hypocritical it is the truth. The true hypocrisy is not acknowledging that abortion is not political, but a right. The true hypocrisy is to not acknowledge suffering. That is true indifference and hypocrisy.
Hi Vongrak, First, let me explain that I like the book, if not I wouldn't have read this far. The way you tell if something feels like filler, at least for me, is that the narration is mostly irrelevant to the story and that if you take a large portion of it the story will remain unchanged. All the best, Kuroe6.
