Due to protectionist measures, in Leizhou, music from other continents was not distributed freely. Most people in Leizhou were not familiar with the "Period of Destruction" series. The setting it's pretty unique, shame that's fleshed out in such a mediocre way. A lot of the times I have to make a conscious effort to remember thst people use weapons, are going through the industrial revolution, are in a kingdom and that they're fighting beasts. Again, I like this setting, but the author doesn't do a good job at showing it to us, the readers. The plot is... Mediocre at best. You always know what's going to happen and there's mistery and some plot points that are interesting, the problem is that the execution is heavily influenced by wuxia clichés so mistery turns into confusion The characters are okay. I guess. Some of them are likeable, must of them are pretty one dimensional. The MC has this pretty interesting conflict going on with his two souls, or something like that, what a shame that it wasn't higher in the list of priorities for the author. Oh and I stopped reading by 120. If you decide to continue on, I hope it gets better. Ps How in the world did his parents and sister dissapear and the MC didn't give a single f?
