The TV series is also trash

The story was set when the MC, Zhou Mingrui, woke up to the world as Klein Moretti in a post-Victorian era setting after performing a luck enhancement ritual. It was divided into different arcs/books. The first arc's pace was the slowest with an introduction about the world's currency system, orthodox churches (kind of like sects for xianxia), leveling system (22 different paths inspired by the 22 Major Arcana of Tarot Cards, each requiring a potion formula and rituals to increase the Sequence starting from Sequence 9), world map, the family situation in Tingen City and joining the Nighthawks. I felt excitement as I read about how Klein evolves with disguised traveling and the battle scenes, schemes of actually smart and dangerous characters, growth of the tarot club, Derrick's exploration of his homeland, the diary pages, etc. Towards the end, it felt like the rug can be pulled from under my feet, and I wouldn't give a damn as every chapter puts me to the back of my seat. The vibe is similar to Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.
