I feel like this is the route he will take. He is going for the best solution where there is checks and balances, his family being safe, and time to practice his martial arts. My theory is that its going to be a council-like approach with him being the president of some sort. Then he is going to learn/train some new abilities to head to the beast domain to get out of everyone’s sight and maybe look for the divine doctor. Im just wondering if he is gonna become a martial master before leaving or not.
We always have thought the void people see in Rui was his martial path, but now it looks like there is much more to it then before and it is being explicitly pointed out with foreshadowed heavy consequences. I guess there was hints of it such as Rui’s opponent’s martial path breaking down, his decision making during the Shionel dungeon that put his family at risk, or him declining the martial union’s protection offered to his family. I guess its evident at this point if he had the opportunity to further his path at a dead end, he will sacrifice his family to do so. I wonder what we can expect from this in the future.
Yep, the author has talked about martial artist’s drive alot in the beginning of the novel and throughout it. most martial artists dont have a pure drive like Rui does. As long as they safisfy their goal, their martial path ends there. For example, his ex-girlfriend reached the martial senior realm and has stopped pursuing her martial path because she feels she has enough power already and would rather settle down.
Rui is forgetting that the way the world works is that strong eats the weak. I don’t know how prince Raul appeals at all to martial sages. If all martial sages and the martial union leaves kandrian empire, I dont see how the prince, who puts the common people first, can sway them to stay. If anything, this prince probably hates martial artists and prob belongs to the beggar sect. He will prob use the kandrian technology to kill off martial artists. I really hope Rui can detect some kind of suspicion with his senses. If anything, i think the coastal princess is the best middleground and support.
Rui is becoming more reckless, maybe cause he has been stomping his opponents or he gotten more arrogant cause of his growth. Its going to become really clear to everyone with a connection to Rui that he killed Deacon, especially the Kandrian underworld. deacon put in alot of resources and target on rui’s name and that had to spread out to every big force. Deacon’s son selling all his dad’s assets in Kandrian empire could be a ruse. Big props to you, author, for giving your readers an uncomfortable/dangerous feeling for Rui during this whole arc. Rui himself is feeling great, but not me. my primordial danger sense is still tingling.
I think keeping what he has been doing underwraps would make chairmen deacon less alert. if he learned about a new senior martial artists that belongs to the floating sect guarding an orphanage, hes gonna learn more about rui’s abilities. im pretty sure the guildmaster realizes who Rui was during the tournament. Deacon is just as smart/formidable so its much better if Rui keeps has tracks covered.
I skipped the last two and this chapter. I don’t see how these three chapters allude to what will happened in the future. it was already explained that the nation is a capitalist. I think its better to breadcrumb all these explanations rather than have three chapters that is very minor to the story itself with no known characters.
I think the exposition and explanations are fine, but the chapter is too short for any meaningful events to actually be finished. Often the conflicts are finished in one chapter, but the events leading to it take a few or several chapters (e.g. the offense commission that just took place). The pacing feels very weird. However, I am reading chapter by chapter and it might be better for myself to stockpile chapters to read later.
Might be cleared up in the future, but the procedure to upgrade to a martial squire probably caused changes to the human body. they mentioned that a martial squire body is not like a regular human anymore and their bodies continue to grow/age. maybe the radiation they used caused the cells to have a self-growth/upgrade trait?
