The female lead is overpowered and a very obvious and poorly done vessel to pander to people who like the "strong independent woman" trope. It is never explained why there are assassins constantly attacking the main characters so incessantly, and it is very unrealistically done. The character writing feels cliché and poorly done. The character dialogue and aspirations of the female lead are bland and cliché as well. A scene was straight up skipped, leaving people confused, and there isn't a lot of meat on the bones of this story. Overall, not an interesting or fun story to read - it's boring, bland, and cliché. I don't recommend reading it unless you are desperate for a story that panders.
This comic is good actually buy i still prefer the original comic or the first one that was released, it much close to the plots nd story line of the novel, thou this second adaptation is much morebetter in terms of the drawing or tge comic design, in terms of the character specifications unlike the first adaptation that was being out of blue with hair colors and fashion. All in all its good.
I read the comic version as i love the book. However, the story is a bit different and also the characters are bit different than the novel. For example, why Ning Xi wear sexy clothes here and there? in the book, she was modest, she did not even wearing revealing dresses to attract the big boss. for drawing quality, yes, it is a lot better than the first version, but in case of story line & characters, i prefere the first version better.
Besides having such beautiful drawings , it feels like an entirely different book. Doesnt follow the novel , which I had thought it would , and changes the characters. Because of such differences to the novel , they should change the name or add something to show that it is different. If anyone knows where the comic that follows the original novel is , please let me know .
