7 Chapter 6

The mud was slipping off and so Maeve immediately started to run and so did Alice, the grandma....and the wolves.

They all ran and ran as fast as they could and Maeve realized she's faster than them both and knew she couldn't leave them so she slowed down and the grandma noticed this, she knew what had to be done.

The grandma suddenly stopped and pushed Alice towards Maeve after putting something in her mouth saying "don't swallow" and yelled in old fox speak, "Thy low metreas!!!" (Thy-low-met-tree-as)And suddenly Maeve could fly she was surprised but grab Alice and was gonna go for her grandma but something stopped her. "Go my child" she smiled and started to attack in her human form as a single tear fell and she flew away with Alice on her back. She mumbled to herself "thy low..means left underwater and metrea-" she stopped herself for if she finished the sentence the wings would disappear.

Alice nuzzled Maeve on her neck and said" left underwater? Maybe a waterfall? Or an underwater cave?"

Maeve shook her head "your close-but that's where the clue is, not the place"

Alice looked surprised at how Maeve knew, "then we must go there right?"

More tears of Maeve's fell and she nodded, Alice stopped talking and layer her head on Maeve's, and fell into a light sleep.

———-A lot of flying/6 hours later———

Maeve's lands a little bumpy but Alice didn't wake, Maeve smiled and lightly put her down. "Metreas" she said and the wings disappeared into the air, she saw something shiny in Alice's mouth and softly woke Alice up, Alice woke with a sleepy groan, "can I see what's in your mouth?" Alice remembers and nodded letting it slide off her young and into her hand, she dried it with whatever fur wasn't full of mud anymore and gave it to Maeve.

It was a black and white yin and yang charm with paws as the dots, she looked at it and read on the back of the charm.

-A gift to my future daughter who will grow to be older than 16 hundred years old, since you are the last heir KNOWN alive you must have this for you can turn into a fox or a wolf as long as you wish it, but only for 6 hours straight.-

She couldn't believe she could read all that with such small writing but then she saw the same words grandma spoke earlier on the very bottom as well.

"Thy low?, Left underwater"

She turned into her human form and picked Alice up, setting her down in the cave.

She looked at the stars and a single tear fell "goodnight grandma, goodnight grandpa, even if you're, not my real ones"

"Thank you for taking care of me....goodnight"

And she turned and slept in the cave in her form and kept Alice warm.
