"Eh?"
"As I just said you passed."
Dammit, I didn't mishear.
"Why?"
"I just needed to see what you could do."
"And that exchange of conversation proved you that?"
"Yup."
A threat got me a pass, that's a first in a while.
"Huh, so, what did I 'passed' for?"
"I'll have the girl behind you explain."
I turned around only to see 'Aly' again. This time a smug face instead, would be a shame if it was deformed all of a sudden.
"I supposed I didn't fully introduce myself, my name is Alicia, the second princess of Willtain."
"She had a will of her own?"
"Yup, dolls aren't so majestic aren't they?"
"Isn't it the other way around?"
"What do you mean by that sentence?"
"Don't worry about it"
"Anyways, back to the topic, I have a job for you."
"You think I would accept after what happened just now?"
"You will."
"You because you have royal blood?"
"The royal blood part of one of the biggest kingdoms, if not, the biggest kingdom in the North doesn't matter."
"Then why?"
"The reward of course, idiot."
It really would be a shame huh.
"If you're so confident, what is it?"
"This."
She said as she reached out her hand, holding a weird pendant thing, except for the weird sapphire in the middle, there wasn't much interesting about it. I supposed this is what you call an artifact.
But I'll make sure.
"What's this?"
"An artifact."
"So what does it do?"
"It buffs you of course."
"I mean what does this one do, smooth brain."
"It increases your mana by a whopping 300%."
"I see."
I said as I touched it, but it instantly collapses.
"Some artifact you got there, look, it broke instantly."
I said.
Those are some amusing faces they're making, almost like 'Did you have any idea what you just did.'
Wait a second.
"Do you have any idea what you just did?"
Looks like they're the first one to make a move.
"Not really."
"If you don't take this job you'll be a really wanted man."
Oh god, what did I just do.
Sighs*
"So, what's the job."
Looks like I have no choice.
"So I take it that you'll accept it?"
"Yes."
I decided not to let her have some fun.
"What are the details."
"Now we're talking, I would go into more detail but we're running out of time, so I'll give you a rough explanation, are you fine with that?"
"Of course."
"So basically you gotta go find a glitch dungeon in the north and save 3 specific people, 1 male 2 females."
Glitch dungeon huh? That's going to be a bit tricky.
"Would you add in a few dozen gold coins?"
"Bargaining are we?"
"Seems so."
"I supposed it wouldn't hurt, very well, I'll add an extra 100 gold coins as a reward."
"So that's all right?"
"Yup."
"In other words, I can ask questions now right?"
"Absolutely."
"So, how did I pass, and why?"
I figured I wouldn't let her get away with her style of avoiding questions.
For a brief moment, she looked surprised, no... that's not the right word, amused is what I'll call it, but then instantly turned into a smile.
"Oya, you remembered it?"
So she said, but it's useless, she has already prepared an answer. Now, will she lie?
"Naturally, I need to be somewhat reliable myself too, am I wrong?"
"Half half."
"Ohhh, really????"
"Of course."
"So will you answer?"
"You'll see soon enough"
"I'll trust you on that, but it's a promise, and you shouldn't break promises, or you'll have to swallow a thousand needles."
Looks like she still really doesn't want to cooperate, for what reason? Maybe she'll throw me away when needed.
I laughed to myself at that thought.
Doesn't really matter, but, it'll be interesting to see what she'll do in time.
"Don't treat like a kid."
She said.
For the first time since I've met her, her grin is gone, replaced by an ice cold expression, with a slight hint of anger in her voice, but at the same time, a slight hint of weakness.
Weird reaction and awkward timing, not the best combo.
"So, who are we trying to find?"
"I knew something like this would happen so I came prepared."
She turns around and calls out 'Raga,'
The woman that was supposed to be behind me just appeared in front of 'Aly', it looked as if she had always been there.
Either it was one hell of a footwork or she can teleport silently, coupled with a domain. For someone who looks like a berserker, she sure can make one hell of an assassin.
