" What do you mean I became a hot search overnight?! "

Zoey exclaimed shock written on her face. Ria grinned and handed her her phone.

" See for yourself darling. "

Scanning the phone's content, Zoey's eyes almost popped from their sockets. Her mouth was wide opened.

" Oh my goodness are these people nuts?! That damn bastard is responsible for this! "

She clenched her jaws, so mad that she almost smashed the phone on her hands to the floor.

" Hey watch out, do you want to destroy the only phone I have? " Ria gasped snatching her poor phone.

" Why are you overreacting? If you ask me, at least you got to experience what most girls are dying for in this country... hahaha... And on top of that you became famous. "

She broke into an evil laughter mysteriously glancing at Zoey.

Since the previous day's incident, Zoey a reserved and unknown girl in college became the top search in the school's gossip forum on the internet.

Everyone was speaking about the incident trying to gather information about how the two were connected or related.

Ethan Hale was known as an aloof male god who never associated himself with just anyone especially people of the opposite sex. He wasn't the kinda guy to flirt or play around with girls in the campus.

People suspected that they were seeing each other creating a dilemma among themselves concerning his relation with Sophie, the campus belle.

Zoey became flustered receiving all kind of gazes from other students. They were constantly staring at her as if she was some monkey in a zoo.

Dressed casually, her hair was covered in a black cap that covered most parts of her forehead and eyes.

Since morning, people would start gossiping whenever she passed by somewhere within the campus.

Some were staring at her with glittering eyes especially the boys who had never realized she was a beauty till that previous day while the girls' dark gazes were filled with envy and killing intent probably wishing her death because of stealing their prince charming.

What prince charming?! A cunning and manipulative asshole!!

The entire scene was very chaotic leaving her frustrated. Forget the previous incident, the day felt like hell...

" And on top of that, my day couldn't get any worse. Those Tanners back at home were ordering me to quit the contest. Argh I'm so annoyed with everyone!!! " She angrily gritted her teeth while clenching her fists looking like she was ready to punch somebody at any second.

" What? Are they crazy? Are you going to withdraw?! "

Ria almost choked up from the orange fruit juice she was drinking on the way to the school cafeteria for lunch.

They joined the long queue waiting for their turn to order their food while Liam booked their table beforehand.

The cafeteria was usually packed during lunch breaks and sometimes the tables would get full.

" Of course not! " Zoey half shouted furrowing her brows. " Who do they all take me for, their puppet? " She sneered, " hah, they're crazy. Especially that damn manipulative pervert. Let's see if I won't kick his ass next time he dares to cross my... "

" Awww... !! "

Zoey was in the middle of her rantings when a sudden piercing pain attached the back of her head.

It was so painful. Damnit somebody had deliberately knocked her head!! She was raging mad!

Painfully clutching the back of her head, her head jerked to the back ready to rain curses on the culprit only to freeze on the spot when she saw the last face she wished to see on earth.

Her pretty face scrunched up while her eyes bulged out in both shock and fury. This guy had not only been the source of her miseries since the first day she met him but he also dared to shamelessly hit her head.

All those frustrations and embarrassment converted into extreme rage.

" Are you asking for a damn beating?!" She snarled almost poking his nose with her long pointed index finger despite their huge difference in heights. Her eyes looked as if they were going to release fire.

Ethan chuckled looking at her. She looked so adorable while angry, just like a little kitten. Her face was tiny that it could perfectly fit his palm.

He had noticed that her cheeks would turn red whenever she was angered. His lips curved into a playful smirk leaning forward towards her.

Zoey stiffened and her eyes flew wide open. He was so close. Extremely close. She could feel his hot breath blowing on her ears. She blinked at him defensively with those wide eyes trying to maintain her composure.

" How're you gonna kick my ass, shouldn't we find a place and try it? "

His teasing voice vibrated on her ears. The hoarse and sexy voice felt like it could conduct electricity. She could feel the current flowing from her forehead to her earlobes making her numb from her ears to neck.

She started pushing him away stuttering, " y-you get... get away from me. "

She shivered and turned red in the face not sure because of embarrassment or being seduced by his voice.

Ethan took a step back and his face became cold and expressionless.

" I need my lunch on the table in one minute. "

" What?! I'm not your maid. "

Zoey furiously rolled her eyes at the man. Who did he think he was?

" Right, my little slave. 40 seconds left. " He uttered emotionlessly and walked off to an empty table at the farthest corner.

Glaring at his back, Zoey stamped her feet gritting her teeth, " stupid asshole! "

Being jolted to her senses, Ria loudly cleared her throat inching at her with a weird gaze.

* Cough* cough*

" Girl, wassup? Are hiding something from me? What's going on? "

She dramatically fired questions at her face. Zoey in turn sneered looking at her gossipy face saying, " what could possibly be going on? He's just an asshole who has no idea who he's ordering around. "

Her eyes suddenly narrowed before her lips formed an vicious curve, " and certainly no idea who he's messing with... "
