3 Astral Trouble

" Wow. This feels so weird." I said as I gazed upon my passed-out form on the hotel bed.

I was currently floating in the air in my Astral form looking down on myself laying there with the Talisman in my hand.

In the show, Jade who was Jackie Chan's niece had used the talisman and it ended up with Shendu the demon sorcerer taking over her body while she was stuck in her Astral form unable to re-enter her vessel.

Although the circumstances were different, it still made me wary of leaving my body empty for long periods of time, so with that in mind, I focused my senses and willed myself to fly through the walls and out of my hotel.

I was slightly worried about doing this but in the end, I deemed it as an acceptable risk, and after a quick look around I wasn't seeing anyone wandering around in their spirit form in the middle of Metropolis.

I gazed upon the skyline of Metropolis silently admiring the city of the future. I figured I would scout the city and see if I could find the library as well as visit certain areas without being detected.

Moving in my Astral form was intuitive since all I had to do really was focus on where I wanted to go and will myself to move towards it.

By the time, it was getting to noon I had already discovered several places that might prove useful in the future.

Like the location of the Metropolis General city library, which was about a few miles away from my hotel.

A few drug houses belonging to a gang that was smart enough to pick a hideout lined with lead paint and I even saw a couple of crimes in progress.

Those were solved by finding someone who was sleeping and going into their dreams and telling them to wake up and call 911. So, all in all, a pretty productive morning.

On my way back though, curiosity got the better of me and as I stared at the unrealistically enormous globe placed on top of a building which had The Daily Planet written on it, a slight smile appeared on my face.

( Clark Kent POV)

Clark sighed as he got into the elevator that would take him up to the Daily Planet bullpen.

It was his first day back at work after a particularly short vacation which instead of relaxing, ended up with him having to take care of league business.

The doors to the elevator opened and Clark briefly closed his eyes, listening to the clacking of keyboard keys, the latest gossip at the water cooler, and various coworkers trying to fish information for their articles over the phone. The smell of ink, paper, sweat, and coffee permeated the air.

He entered the bullpen, and Jimmy immediately caught sight of him.

"CK!" he cried.

"Um… hi Jimmy. " Clark waved.

Jimmy rushed over towards Clark.

"Hey man welcome back! Hope you had a great time on your vacation, so how was it? " he said.

He smiled. "It was... good I got to see some friends and went out of town for a while."

The two of them headed for his desk, Clark smiling and chatting with Jimmy.

"KENT!"

Clark looked up to see Perry standing near his desk, a huge grin on his face.

"Hey, Chief," he smiled, shaking the Editor's hand.

"Good to see you, Kent. Glad you're finally back got a few articles that need finishing…"

Clark smiled. "Thank you Chief, I'll be sure to get right on them."

"Well, that's good to hear you're my best typist, not to mention I can't get anyone to work with lane," he said gruffly.

"Like I need a partner, Chief!" Lois protested, finally making her presence known.

Clark watched as she sauntered over, her hips swaying in a gray pantsuit, her rather low-cut blouse tantalizing his desire. Eyes sparkling, Lois smiled at him and Clark's whole being lit up.

"Hi, Lois," he said.

"Hi, Smallville," she said, a glint in her eye. "The planet wasn't the same without you."

Clark smirked at the double meaning. "So you're saying you missed me?"

" You can say that... come on let's go I have a few things I need you to take a look at." She said.

Lois snatched Clark's hand and headed for the supply closet, Clark stumbling after her with a confused look on his face. Throwing the door open she pulled him in, and then slammed the door shut.

Gripping his tie she yanked him down until their lips met. Shock quickly transformed to passion and Clark wrapped his arms around her petite waist, his eyes closing in contentment.

"L-Lois!" Clark gasped."I thought…"

"You have been gone too long Smallville," she muttered.

"Are you sure you're okay with this?" he asked, nervous that Lois might actually change her mind.

To his delight, she shoved him into the back wall and threw her hands around his neck. "Shut up and kiss me, Clark."

Raising an eyebrow, Clark's eyes darkened with desire. "Yes, Miss Lane," he smirked, claiming her lips with his own. The kiss lasted for several steamy seconds before he moved his lips across her soft jawline. "Just kiss?" he murmured against her earlobe.

He suddenly jumped when he felt Lois's hands wrapping around his back under his shirt, the buttons now fully undone, the famous "S" shield exposed to her view.

"What do you think?" she smirked, grabbing his collar and forcing his lips to hers again.

Smiling, Clark wrapped his arms around her, his feet unintentionally lifting off the floor. It really was good to be back.

(POV End)

' Ew...gross I did not need to see that!' As my luck would have it, my plan which consisted of me visiting the Daily Planet and seeing Superman aka Clark Kent in his element, all came crashing down.

I ended up walking in, or more accurately flew in on Clark and Lois going at it like rabbits in a broom closet no less.

I panicked so hard a startled shout came out of my mouth as I tried to run, before remembering my legs couldn't touch the floor since they were intangible. I practically flew out of there back to my hotel room and into my body.

I woke up with a gasp, " Okay. Testing the sheep talisman's power. Check. Traumatized for the foreseeable future also. Check."

Deciding that was enough excitement for one day. I decided to go out for lunch and check out the library on my way back. This was definitely the DC universe and luckily it didn't look like this universe had an evil version of Supes, albeit he did seem quite young.

Luckily the library had a few computers with internet access. So, I settled in for a long research session, and a few hours later I was walking out of the library with a contemplative look on my face.

Okay, Young Justice. I can work with this. Probably best that I ended up here, the power levels aren't too extreme and I have a good few years before things go crazy. Well, granted this isn't an AU or something ... yeah

Okay, I need to stop moping. I'm in magic superhero land, it's time to have fun and get a girlfriend or something.

I died at 16 for god's sake and due to my illness, I didn't have much of a life. I've been practically bedridden for most of my life and didn't have much of an opportunity to make any friends or do something worthwhile.

I did learn how to code though. It was an effort on my part to help my parents out with the medical bills. Unfortunately, most people didn't hire underage sickly teenagers and the freelance work I managed to find wasn't anything to write home about when others were willing to work for much less.

The money the ROB gave me will only last me a few more weeks, so I had to think of something

I was back in my room, still thinking about what to do.

Firstly I needed to find a job and a place to practice using my talismans. Preferably somewhere where I can gain fighting experience, but nothing with crazy power levels that can one shot me or too low level to be useless.

I walked over to the bed and sat down on the remote, accidentally clicking on the TV. "... in other news Wayne enterprises announced that its scholarship program..."

' Well, if that wasn't a sign, I don't know what is. '
