Seconds later, the zombie stopped, and Richard threw them aside.

Richard breathed in and out uncontrollably, he had just killed a person, no, a zombie. He immediately got to his feet and dragged the zombie corpses, and bee corpses out of his room with its blood trailing beneath its body. After getting it out, Richard take the door on floor, and fix it, closed the door and locked it.

Richard walked over to the sofa and sat down, his blood-stained hands still shivering. The new reality is sinking on him now.

As he sat there, staring blankly ahead, a holographic message suddenly appeared in front of him, breaking his thoughts.

Richard's brow furrowing as he read the message. " What the fuck… what is this? "

Richard tried to touch it but his hands went through as if it was a solidified mist. He withdrew his hand in confusion, his brow furrowing even deeper. The holographic message remained suspended in the air, like insulting out of his reach.

Moments later, the display on the holographic screens changed, showing a different display.

"Beginner's pack?" Richard repeated. He had played a lot of games before, so he knew what it entailed. He quickly navigated through the system and opened his inventory. There he found the beginner's pack, displayed like a supply crate.

He tapped it and suddenly, numerous holographic screens popped up before him.

A grin tugged at Richard's lips, his heart racing with excitement. With a firm tap, he confirmed his decision, and in an instant, a swirling light enveloped him.

As the light receded, Richard found himself clad in the sleek tactical uniform set, a perfect fit from helmet to boots. The weight of the gear felt strangely comforting as if he was stepping into a new identity.

Not only did the clothes appear, but the weapons he had received from the system materialized as well. The M4 Carbine felt heavy but manageable, the armored vest featured magazine pouches where the magazines were stowed, and at his hips, holsters held the M9 Beretta and the tactical knife securely.

He had never held a gun before, but he has this odd familiarity that he had once did. He wondered if it was caused by the system, and by looking at the interface again, he confirmed. In the skill tab, he found a " Weapon Proficiency Level 1 " tab. He checked further information about his skills and there he found " Melee Proficiency Level 1 " and " Driving Proficiency Level 1 ".

He also learned that he could level it with skill points, which can be earned by leveling up.

Suddenly another screen appeared infront of Richard, it's a new mission then he take his phone, and ready to kill zombies, his heart was pounding with anticipation and uncertainty, the facing of 20 zombies and beasts, but rewards are promised were substantial. Gold coins and experience points are could strengthen him, maybe his summoned troops also.

Beside he need to strengthen himself to survive this situation. After a brief pass, Richard made his decision, he tapped the yes button, accept the mission. The holographic screen responded with a subtle glow as it acknowledged his choice.

After that Richard walked over to the door, he was fixed earlier, when he opened door, then he saw outside two more zombies walked into his direction with growling.

Then he switch to M4 Carbine into semi-auto mode, then he fire bullets in zombie heads, and kills these zombies, after killing this zombies he switch to safe mode.

( A/N: I am using M4 Carbine, this have S-1-3" trigger group means safe/ semi-automatic/ 3-round burst, in my another novel I am using M4A1, this has S-1-F" trigger group means safe/ semi-automatic/ fully automatic. I call it mode for my convention. )

Then he stepped out of his room, and he walked down the hallway of the apartment, suddenly 3 zombies appeared at the end of corridor, crawling towards him with trembling steps. Then he quickly switch his M4 Carbine safe into 3-round burst mode, then he place his M4 Carbine stock in shoulder place, and he with his left eye closed, and with his right eye, he was seeing in throw holographic scope.

Then he aimed to zombie heads, then he pull the trigger, then bullets fire from barrel of M4 Carbine, and kill all 3 zombies one after another from right to left.

Then he reached stairwall to reach next floor, Richard currently lived in 25th floor, with stairs he would reach 26th floor.

Then Richard approached the door of stairs, and he push the door slowly, and revealed the dimly lit stairs beyond. And he turned on his flash light.

As he stepped into stairwall, a sudden movement caught his eyes, before he fire that, a zombie appeared from darkness, and it's rotten arms gripped Richard throat.

Then before zombie bit his neck, he placed M4 Carbine in between zombie mouth, then swiftly he take his tactical knife, and stabed at zombie neck.

Then he take Beretta M9, then shot at his head, and zombie movement stopped, then he thrown corspe that to aside, then he thrown that zombie in to side.

And he place Beretta M9 on his hip holster, take his M4 Carbine, and he take tactical knife that stuck on the zombie throat, and clean it with zombie clothes, and place it an holster and seal it safely.

And he reached the 26th floor, then he enter new floor, this floor filled with zombies, the zombies turned their heads towards him, and roared.

He then turn his M4 Carbine into 3-round burst mode from safe, then he kill zombies one by one.

Bullets tore through the zombies head, and bodies fell with each placed well.

Richard felt a surge of adrenaline coursing through his veins. He focused on his target, and squeezing the trigger, and taking down one zombie after another. The holographic screen prompt continued to appear with each kill, signalling his increasing his wealth and experience.

At this moment he saw at the end of corridor, he saw a dog trying to bite a girl, and dog is open it's jaw, before bite, she place rifle in between that dog jaw, a brown dog was trying to bite her throat, but she was prevented with her rifle, then with out second delay, he was focused on the dog head, and pulled the trigger, and killed that dog.

That dog moment finally stopped, and warm blood fell on the girl body, after living through so many things, she didn't scream and looked at the person who just saved her. This person was naturally Richard Concerto.

" Hey, are you okay. " Richard hurried come at her, and kicked that dog body, help her to stand up.

" Yeah, I'm okay, thanks. " That girl said with gratitude in her tone.

" By the way, why didn't you kill it, you already have kill it with your rifle, right? " Richard asked her.

" Ahh! I ran out bullets, and I don't have any bullets. " She said awkwardly.

" Ohh. " Then he looked at her rifle. That's surprising is M4 Carbine.

" Ohh, you also using M4 Carbine, are you by any chance, you related to the military. " Richard asked her.

" Yes, by the way my name is Alice Scraper. And I worked in army. " Alice introduced herself.

" My name is Richard Concerto. Nice to meet you. " Richard introduced himself to Alice.

" Ohh, you working on SWAT team. " Alice asked when he saw Richard's suit.

" No, my brother worked on SWAT, this is my brother equipment. " Richard lied to her.

" By the way, do you live here. " Richard asked.

" Yes. " Alice said.

" Can we go to your room, and rest for while. I need a shower badly. " Richard asked her awkwardly.
