Chapter 10: Died? Who?

Another two days have passed and it's already been three total days since Ian was unconscious.

It's been three days since the smells coming out from the black substances that stayed in his room that make his whole house smell like as**it.

His neighborhood was already talking about him because of the smells that they smelled coming out from his house.

Some speculate about him being killed since it's been a whole week that they didn't see him coming out of his house.

The last time they saw him was when he brought a girl to his house and they only saw the girl coming out of his house alone and a week had already passed since then.

Two middle-aged men were talking to each other in their stalls. 

Their stall was just across from Ian's apartment location.

Both of them were former Raiders in their youth. And both of them retired when they met their loved ones.

Almost all the Gifter's below C ranks were thinking the same. They become raiders because of its high pay but of course, it also has a high death rate, so many people who think that they already reach their limits retire early lest they lose their life.

Both of them were C ranks Gifter that can solo a low-level Portals. It's already high ranked compared to other low rankers. 

But because of many newbies who got their Ability, the lower dungeon was fully crowded and some were lucky clearing it which made the lowest dungeon almost become none.

A portal that leads to a dungeon can be categories as,

Low 

Medium

Hard 

Unknown level portals.

A low-level portal can be solo by a C ranked Raider and can be cleared by a 3 D ranked party that has a balance on each party like having a Tanker, Support, And Damage Dealer.

In this world, there's a named job for every raider that makes it for them to form a party easily from each other.

There are 4 active roles called Tanker, Damage Dealer, Support, and Mage. 

Being a tanker you should have an Ability that can minimize the damage you've taken from the monster like a stoned body ability that C rank Gifter has. 

There's also an S rank in the country with a Diamond body ability that can defend with his body alone. He can make any parts of his body as hard as diamonds. 

He is also the best defender in the country that other countries want to recruit but his love for his home country made him refuse all of them without batting an eye even if they offered high pay with many benefits.

He is also one of the few who remained instead of relocating to another country.

The Second named job is Damage Dealer.

The damage Dealer's job is to kill as many opponents as possible while the tanker distracts the strongest monster. 

The 3rd named job is Support.

Having the ability to buff or heal was already a life saving for a party.

With 4th being a mage.

Having a mage in the party was already a job well done for low ranked Raider. Most low ranking parties either have 2 warriors on their team for more damage since Mage was a rare job to obtain and only top Gifters Parties have them and most are newbies that only have one attack that makes them fully exhausted after use so they can't join a party until they become Stronger.

The Guild will only recognize Ability and Skill users that have basic elements as their Ability or Skills like fire, water, earth, and air. If you have one of the elements then you're Mage. But top rankers in the world have Abilities to control space and gravity which is rare. There are also skills like shadow skills that didn't lose to gravity ability. And obtaining them on the portal was a different matter.

Ability and Skills were entirely different from each other.

Ability is the power you're born to. It's your unique power that others can't learn.

While the Skills were obtained through practice or a skill book that was obtained from the dungeon inside the portals.

But having an ability didn't mean that person is strong since some ability user has an ability that can make him walk backward while looking at his front.

Some people have Strong Ability, Super Strong Ability, or just useless Ability.

It depends on your family's genes and of course luck on their coming of age.

Let's come back to the two middle-aged Men in their stall.

The two Middle Age Men are twin siblings. Their Ability was ranked D at first but with continued use of their Ability it ranked up by one rank.

The siblings had the Ability of Elasticity that they inherit from both of their parents.

The older brother can make his arms elastic and can stretch it to a certain distance.

While the little brother can also make his stretch to a certain distance but instead of arms, his was his legs.

They both inherited their Ability to their both ceased mother and father. Both of their parents were rank F. normal people with abilities.

Their father can make his finger stretch to 5 meters long while their mother was also the same but except for her fingers, for her, it's her toe. Both useless Abilities.

At first, the two almost give up being a raider since they thought that their Ability was also useless.

And it all changed when a Raider named Rubber Man showed up on the Daily Portal news on TB. That day was also the turning point of their life.

They became known as Elastic Brothers in their own country. Some people knew them while others didn't.

But it's all in the past. Now they are just known as weapon sellers for newbies. Meeting their wives made them stop being raiders and open a stall selling weapons that can be used by newbies.

Although the money they got from the sale was not much unlike being a raider. But for them, Life was more important than money.

They are the few neighborhoods that were talking about the death of the youth who live on the 3rd floor of the apartment.

"Big Bro how do you think the lad on the 3rd floor died?" asked the middle-aged man on the left to his brother on the right stall.

"For sure it's theft and I suspect the girl that the lad brought to his house, you remember how she looked when she left his room? She was cursing the lad and I think it's because she didn't find anything valuable in his room or body that made her curse him after killing. " replied the middle-aged man on the right with a serious expression while adjusting his non-existent spectacle.
