8. Angel numbers

The angels left the library and after Ms Mai confirmed that all was well she permitted them to go to their dormitories and showed the female angels where the female dorms were and a male staff worker pointed the male angels to their dorms as well.

Arriving at the hostel building that looked almost like a fancy hotel they were greeted by July, one of the staff responsible for the hotel management. July handed the angels with individual keys for their rooms and the angels were led to their respective rooms by some other staff members.

Zero entered his room and the moment he looked inside he was left in shock he had never had a bedroom before much less one as large as the one he was going to sleep in.

He quickly began to look around the new room and saw a table that had a lamp by it next to an empty bookshelf he also looked out the window and saw a spectacular view of a mountain just outside his window.

But one thing that Zero wasn't happy about was the fact that there were two beds.

'I didn't know I had to share a room with someone. I hope they aren't bad.'

Suddenly, Zero began imagining images of all the worst kinds of roommates he could have.

'Shit, just realising that the guy might be a snorer or worse an untidy pig that litter everything everywhere. Damn it.' Zero then took a deep sigh before proceeding to just put his things away. 'Anyway, it can't be bad, can it?' He thought to himself as he put his book on the table.

As he organised his clothes which were just one trousers and two shirts one of which had been torn quite a bit and the uniform of the Red Valon Society's first years, the door opened and an angel came bursting through.

"Hello there roommate," said the strange person but Zero remained neutral replying with a "hey."

'Damn this guy is so boring,' said the strange person with a disappointed look on his face.

"Well looks like we're roommates. Hey, my name is Nero, Angel 88 and you are?"

Zero ignored the strange person's questions as he continued to fold his clothes. Nero's face changed from joyful to angry very quickly as he stared at Zero ready to beat him up.

Zero felt incredible malice coming from the door and he turned his head to look at what was there and that's when he recognised Nero's presence.

"Oh hey, didn't see you there. Who are you?" Zero asked and as soon as he said that Nero broke and began to shout at Zero while Zero sort of deafened his hearing and asked himself in his head, ' What did I do?'

Once Nero had calmed down, he sighed and repeated his introduction.

"Hey, I'm Nero Osaka and I'm from the Northern continent. I'm Angel 88 and 17 years old. And you?"

"Oh, my name is Zero, from the Eastern continent, 16 years old and I'm Angel 0."

Nero smiled and sat on the second bed in the room that was opposite Zero's, which was near the window.

"Hmm, angel 0. So Zero I have one question for you if you don't mind."

"No, I don't mind. What is it?"

"What's your relationship status?"

Nero smiled at Zero expecting him to take some time to answer because most people like him were virgins 9 out 10 times but they wouldn't wish for anyone to know that so they would take time coming up with a safe answer but as he was analysing Zero in his head all thoughts were disrupted when Zero answered much earlier than expected.

"Single," answered Zero.

"Oh, is that so? So what kind of women do you like?"

"I don't have a preference but if I were to say I would say a girl with fairly dark skin and white hair and a dangerous feel about her."

"Really, that's weird. Well for me I like all kinds of women so long as they are beautiful, of course."

Nero then laughed alone at his own words as Zero stared at him blankly with no expression written on his face.

"Yo, you said your angel 88. What's that?" Zero asked interrupting Nero's laughter.

"You can't be serious. You don't know what Angel numbers are?" Nero asked rather concerned.

"Am I supposed to know?"

"You're serious. Well..." Nero cleared his throat before talking again. "Well, no need to worry teacher Nero is gonna teach you all you need to know about angel numbers."

Zero sat on his bed listening attentively.

"So angel numbers are special numbers that every angel receives. They can be used to instill respect in that angel but they majorly show one's rating as an angel and usefulness. Angel numbers are split into five groups. There are single-digit numbers, double-digit numbers, triple-digit numbers, four-digit numbers and infinities.

Single-digit angels are usually support angels and don't partake in any fighting but are encouraged to know basic offence and defence skills because they aren't high priority and may not receive any assistance. That's why many who know that they are angels tend to train hard in advance to not become single-digit angels. These angels run from digit 1 to 9.

Now double-digit angles are the most common and these are the attack angels. They tend to be more skilled in offence than defence and they usually do the fighting alongside triple-digit angels. These run from 11 to 99.

Then we move on to the triple-digit angles. These are usually referred to as the elites of the common class because of how incredibly strong they are. They can fight almost any demon easily and they are skilled in all aspects. They run from 111 to 999.

And after those we move to the elite class. The group of angels that know no bounds and starting with them we have four-digit angels. These only possess one number and that's 1000 and the angels in this group are referred to as angel 1000s and they work closely with the angel infinites in order to take down really powerful demons like Humble. Most of the Collection angels are actually angel 1000s. That the level any angel would wish to strive. And there are only 30 of them.

But even cooler than them are the angle infinites. These angels are the strongest of the all. So strong that they communicate with the 4 elders and there are only 12 of them. Aren't they cool. But the chance of becoming one is one in a billion and that's counting all the three worlds."

Zero looked at Nero amazed like a little child that has heard an awesome story from their parents before glasing at the book on the table.

"Then what about these books?" Zero asked.

"Oh, those are just books that help us increase our numbers."

"Increase our numbers?" Zero said confused and Nero elaborated farther.

"Well despite the fact that angels have numbers that determine their worth, they can still increase these numbers from low to high for instance; an angel with a single digit number can increase there number from 1 to 4, that's the low digit rank, then from 5 to 9, that's the high digit rank. Same continues for all other groups till group three where someone can advance from 999 to 1000 and become an angel 1000 but to become angel infinite takes a different approach but you must be angel 1000. So those books just help us advance in our groups only like mine takes me to 99 and nothing beyond."

"Oh, I get it. Thanks a lot Nero."

"You're welcome but damn you need to read more if you want to know more stuff cos bro that was tough to explain."

Nero stood up from his bed and threw his bag on his bed before opening the door and asking Zero whether he was going to eat and Zero told him that he would arrive soon.

Nero left the room and headed over to the food court at the first floor of the hostel. Meanwhile Zero looked at the book on his table and passed his hand on it's cover before looking at his bandage wraps.

'I wonder if demons run in a similar way.' He thought at he kept away his clothes and headed out of the room. He opened the door to the dorm and took a step out.

'Well, if I'm gonna find out that I'm going to have to fight them and achieve my true goal.'

Zero walked into the hall that connected the dorms of the 5th floor and didn't know what way to go to get to the food court that's until a gentle voice spoke from behind.

"Can I help you, sir?"
