The Final Purchase

''Hmmm, that bastard thinking he is all high and mighty because of getting some money by chance. I didn't want to accept that deal with that guy but I hate this James guy so much. Even though he will only use me, I can get some money and also my revenge on that bastard, James. This year is going to be hell for you at the North Institute. Haha," Rebecca laughed out hysterically as a sharp and wicked glint passed her powers. Unbeknownst to James, just this short and brief altercation he had created a formidable enemy that will be the closest person to make James feel hell at least that what it will look like.

James left the estate with an indifferent expression, completely forgetting about the entire episode that just happened. He moved out with his hands in his pockets with a neutral face as if,if the world was to end now, he wouldn't care.

'Every day of my life the world keeps surprising me. I always thought because of the technological advancement of this world compared to the world of my previous life, there will be a high value for human life. I will not say I did well helping others, but I never preyed on the weak. This world is even shit than my previous world. In my previous life, the sense of familial love was so dominant that people could destroy entire factions just to avenge their lost distant cousin or uncle. But in this world, it seems I will be surprised as usual. I have always been jealous of people who had families who came with them as they studied at the magic academies in my old life, for this reason, I decided to make it right this time since I had a little sister. I planned to dote on her, protect her and give her the best life got to offer. But here I am seeing people selling their bodies just ready to change their situations and leave their families behind. I never really cared that Rebecca was trying to seduce me, but to do it just to escape her financial situation and leave her family behind didn't sit right with me. Is this the race Nicholas asked me to protect? Really? Am I going to work through blood and sweat for this bunch of worthless people who don't even value something as precious as familial love?' All these thoughts were going through James' head as he thought about his previous encounter with Rebecca and getting reminded about the difference in needs of various individuals. Behind that indifferent face, James' mind was working in overdrive as he couldn't grasp how foolish people were.

'Haaa, after all these, still my goal hasn't changed. All I need to do is get stronger than everyone else to protect Lisa and those that will be in my circle. I need a new broker now. The admission into the North Institute is bound to end anytime soon. I need to get this accommodation issue settled as quickly as possible." James said as he pulled out his phone to find a new broker who could help him with his current situation.

'' Hey, James take this card. This person is also in an equal position to me. Building a connection with him is the same as building one with me. I'll like to apologize for the earlier inconveniences." Rebecca said as she gave the business card of her partner to James as she left without saying another word. Rebecca thought she had gotten away from getting noticed by James for her evil and vengeful intentions. Even though James was currently unable to use his strength, he had his permanently evolved soul eyes. With these eyes, every single detail around James could be seen clearly. Unbeknownst to Rebecca, although she tried her best to sound natural, she couldn't lie with her expression. Every twist and turn of her muscle which signified a restrained urge to frown proved the illegitimacy of her claim to be apologetic. He had a feeling this was just a move to get his mind away from her next move, with his interactions with people in his previous life, James had met such similar situations.

''Well bring it on. I want to see how conflicts are handled in this world." Unknown to James, this curiosity will lead to something much bigger. In his previous life, James had a policy of taking care of enemies there and there without waiting to create a bigger problem. It seems James had still not changed from his usual overconfident self, he just became much more conscious of it.

"Hello, Mr. Matthew, I am James and I'll like to purchase a building from the medium-class section of the North Institute Estates Region. I had contact with Miss Rebecca and she referred me to you. I am currently in that Estate region." James said to the person Rebecca referred him to.

"Okay, Mr. James. Thank you for deciding to do business with the Homes and Insurance Company. I'll be around your location in 10 minutes. Kindly wait for my arrival." Matthew said.

" Okay" James replied as he hang up the call.

About 8 minutes later, a 6-foot-tall middle-aged man walked into the lobby of the Homes and Insurance Company as he headed towards James.

'' Hello, Mr.James. I am Matthew and I will be your guide for today. It is finally a pleasure to meet you. Thank you once again for considering the Homes and Insurance Company ." Matthew said in a professional tone even though he saw the type of clothing James wore. He decided to be professional about it and just headed straight to the point. For those wondering, well just imagine the ordinary clothes of a person who is living a financially minimal life.

'' It is also a pleasure meeting you in person. I'll be moving in to start college at the North Institute because of that I am looking for accommodation reservations close to the campus." James said to Matthew as he felt some kind of special towards Matthew.

'' Oh okay. Can I call you, James? This formal stuff is getting me stuffed up. You don't mind right?" Matthew said to James as they moved to his private office.

'' Yes, Matthew. If you don't mind me calling you that. I like straightforward people" James said with a bright smile as his opinion of Matthew shot up the roof.

'' Of course, James. Since you going to be my client, I'll tell you a little secret. I am a lecturer at the North Institute. I teach martial arts and I am the Head of the Department for Physical Activities. This is definitely against the rules, but I am officially inviting you to my club, make sure to come through, or else the lease on your house will be revoked." Matthew said to James in a half serious-half joking tone as he invited James to his club.

" Of course, I promise on the Dean of the North Institute's s life, that I'll join your club." James said in a serious tone as he used the dean's life as collateral.

In an office not far away from James' location.

A handsome and noble-looking old man signing a bunch of documents sneezed three times.

"Huh, these freshmen will be trouble. I have never sneezed in my office throughout my career as the dean, this is definitely a bad omen" The man said as he rubbed his forehead.

" Hahaha, if that old man heard you, you will be expelled" Matthew said as he laughed out loud.

'' Did you see a house you liked?" Matthew asked James. During their conversation, James was already looking through the options available.

" Yes, I will choose this one." James said to Matthew. In the process of finding a house, one could decide to check the house itself or its model. James decided to check the house during his time with Rebecca because well... you know why. This time though, since he had limited time and he trusted Matthew's judgment he decided on the model option.

" Okay the deal is finalized, send the money to this account and sign this paperwork."

" Okay" James said as he completed all the necessary procedures.

" Okay, I guess we will be seeing each other soon." Matthew said to James as he left his office.

" Of course "James replied.
