Prologue

My name is Zeref Dragneel, and I died during my lifetime, if it can be called life at all, whatever names I was not called

The Dark Magician

Emperor

Immortal

The killer of millions

A Living Curse

Absolute Evil

But it never bothered me, it just made me laugh at how the right people treat me

I lost my family in a fire created by a dragon with black scales and red evil eyes, this Katrina will never get out of my head

Having lost my relatives I decided that I could not live without them Without a Father without a Mother and without a younger Brother

I wanted to find a way to resurrect them I started studying everything possible everything that teaching magic could give me because magic is capable of anything in this blind

And I managed to find a way to resurrect someone who was already dead, but I paid a very high price for this knowledge

I became Immortal

So much so that even cutting off my head couldn't kill me, or even if I was ground to dust, I would rise up again

The one who cursed me was the God of Life and Death Ankskelam

In addition to my immortality, I have become a walking death, anyone who approaches me will die

I became a monster

But even after becoming a monster, I did not go mad and resurrected my younger brother at the cost of my curse

Then I started building an empire and creating those who could kill me, but all those I created were good for nothing

And now, after 300 years of my immortality, I met a girl so bright that it is simply impossible to convey it in words

Her name was Mavis, and she was incredibly beautiful, like a fairy in human form

I taught her magic and how to handle it properly

Then I left, because if my feelings for her had become stronger, she would have died from me

After another 20 years, I met her again, and as it turned out, she also became immortal thanks to a spell that I taught her, but I didn't think that this spell could make someone immortal

I didn't want her to feel the same as I did from this curse, but she had already taken the life of one of her close friends

I started to think of myself as an even bigger monster, because I made a monster out of a Beautiful fairy, just like me

I didn't want

I really wanted to help her

and now, after all that we had to go through

after I made even more mistakes, trying to take over the Heart of the Fairies and trying to kill my little brother

I look into the emerald eyes that love me, in which I wanted to drown.

I'm going to die with the one I love, Mavis.

Our bodies were glowing, and gradually we left this world

"I love you," said Mavis, who was gradually disappearing, just like me

"I love you too, Mavis," Zeref said

Their bodies completely disappeared, scattering golden sparks flying into the sky

Zeref opened his eyes and saw a huge ocean of souls in front of him

It was like a huge whirlpool that sucked in a huge number of souls

"Where am I?" Zeref asked

"This is the Source of Souls"

Zeref heard a strong voice, turned in his direction and saw a bald old man with a white beard to his stomach and a strong body

Zeref was taken aback, but calmed down and asked a reasonable question

"Are you a god ?" Zeref asked

"You can say that, young man," the God replied with a smile on his face

"Where is Mavis, I remember exactly how I held her hand and died with her, tell me where she is," Zeref wanted to know what happened to his beloved, and if God himself is in front of him, he definitely needs to know the answer

"I assure you, young man, everything is fine with her, but I can't say more until you agree to do something very important for me," God said, looking at the excited Zeref

"What do you want as a God, you should already have everything you can wish for, right?" said an angry Zeref, who wanted to see Maves as soon as possible

"Even I am not omnipotent, and therefore I want to forgive you and help me in one very important matter, young man, after which I promise that Mavis will always be there for you," God said

"Tell me what you want," the Dark Magician replied

"There is a place in the multiverse that I created in order to choose a receiver for myself, this is the Tower of God, but now something is happening in this very tower that I cannot change, and therefore I ask you, young man, go to this tower and become my receiver by climbing to its top," the God replied in a serious tone.

"Do you want someone like me to become a God ?" Zeref asked incredulously

"Why do you need someone like me, the one who took I do not know how many lives to the next world, the one who was called the Dark Apostle, who brings the cross and destruction to all who stand in his way, why," Zeref shouted

God just smiled

"Ask yourself the question, are you really like this ?" God answered

Zeref didn't understand

"You were the only one who only wanted to bring your loved ones back to life, if not for the one who cursed you on that fateful day for you, you would have become a light for everyone in your wonderful world," God replied

Zeref simply listened to the words of God and realized that he was right, if not for the curse of Ankselman, everything would have been different

"I have been watching you since your birth, without interfering in your fate, watching how you grow up and when, after all that you have done, after all the sins you have committed and after you were plunged into darkness, you managed to find humility and find love and happiness even after all that you had to go through," God said, looking at the shocked Zeref.

The God approached and put his arm around Zeref's shoulders

"You are the one I have chosen, and therefore I ask you to look inside yourself again and find the answer to the question that I asked"

Zeref wasn't really a bad person, he was just created by people who didn't know that in fact he was just a scum of fate itself and a god who cursed him, and he himself was the one the Fairy girl herself fell in love with, who was the sun in the eyes of many people

"After your words, I really began to understand how cruel fate can be even for someone who just wants to make the world a better place," Zeref said and began to cry at how cruel fate can be

Zeref immediately wiped away his tears

"If I climb your tower, what will I get"

"You will become my successor and get everything you can only dream of, but more importantly, you will get a second chance," God replied

"A Second Chance ?" Zeref asked again

"You no longer have the curse, and now you are an ordinary person who can make friends, close people and even loved ones, because the curse of Ankselman is no longer there"

"Exactly, if you are a God, then who is Ankselman?" Zeref suddenly asked

"Ankselman is a lower-class god who just likes to bully people, but you shouldn't worry about him because I've already killed him," the God replied, which shocked Zeref

"You killed him," Zeref asked in shock

"After he cursed you, I immediately destroyed him, but it seems that his curse did not disappear from your body, you yourself became the owner of this power that can control Life and Death, in other words, you became the god of Life and Death, although you did not realize it yourself," the God replied, which made Zeref even more shocked

"Your divine power has not yet awakened, it is fair to say that the seed that Ankselman himself unknowingly sowed in you has not yet borne fruit, and only at the end, when you died, did you manage to open the first stage of this power, and this power did not allow your soul to disperse like all souls in the Source of Souls," God replied, watching Billions of souls fall into the whirlpool of rebirth

"Then, if that's the case, then it's clear that I cursed Mavis and doomed her to such a cruel fate," Zeref understood this, because now it's clear why Mavis became Immortal like him, but she wasn't as immortal as he was, after all, she once died right in his arms

"Yes, it is, and this power will still manifest itself in the future, but for now we will stop at this, it's time for you to go to the Tower"

"Wait, tell me what's wrong with Mavis, where is she now," Zeref desperately wanted to know

The God looked at Zeref

"Now it's inside you, young man," God replied

"What do you mean?" - Zeref wanted to understand what he was talking about, but he realized that God was right

In the soul of Zeref was what he took from Mavis, this is the Heart of the fairies, the core of endless magic that can change the world the way you want

And the center of this core was his soul Mavis

Zeref began to be blown right into the abyss of souls

"Wait, I still have so many questions left, please wait," Zeref tried to resist the pressure, but everything was definitely pushing him away

Zeref felt that the pressure had eased, and looked at the God

"Make many friends and relatives and protect them with all your might, and then I promise that you will find again what you have lost, and even more," God replied with a smile

Zeref had a lot of questions, but all he could say right now was

"Thank you"
