141 Chapter 141: Quite A Gamble

" Mysterious disappearances, are happening all over Japan. Reporters and citizens are vanishing without a trace. "

This sentence, rippled out a flat-screen TV, inside a large penthouse in Tokyo. Sitting directly in front of the TV on a green cushioned chair, with his legs propped onto a glass table was Mute, who was watching the news intensely. Wounds still covered his body, as he wore a white t-shirt. With gray sweatpants.

Due to the binding vow, he created during his battle with Yuta, his RCT still hasn't recovered and will most likely not recover for another week. Mute gingerly started to stretch, clearly still fatigued from his battle only to mumble under his breath.

" He plans on getting the whole world involved. I guess that is one way to gather curse energy. " Mute kept staring at the TV watching reporters getting slaughtered by curses, before abruptly a knock, rippled out from the door. Mute instantly looked over towards the door confused.

He slowly stood up from the chair and walked towards the door, only to look through the peephole, instantly he let out a scoff and opened the door while speaking. " I thought Maki would have killed you. But I guess she is softer than I thought. " Standing in the doorway, was Mai with gashes covering her body. Mai didn't respond to the comment. And stood still quiet, seeing this, Mute took a step forward and looked around outside his room, checking out the hallways.

" So? Did you lead the other sorcerers here? Or what? " Asked Mute, while he took a step back into his room.

" Why would I lead them into certain death? " Responded Mai.

" I guess that is true. But come inside. I need to explain something to you. About the upcoming game. Since you are still alive, it'll make my life, a little easier. " As soon as Mute said, he turned around and started to walk into his room, Mai followed him with a confused look on her face. She quickly shut the door behind her and watched as Mute, sat back down on the chair. Mute took a deep breath before he began to speak.

" Take this with a grain of salt, since it is Kenjaku we are talking about. But according to him, the upcoming game will gather energy to evolve the human species into something greater. Or at least, that's what he told me. His true motive is probably something different, but truthfully, I couldn't care less. I'll simply kill him before he can achieve it. " Mai nodded, as Mute continued to talk.

" There will be powerful sorcerers throughout different eras that will appear, and I will most likely battle them. But truthfully, I'm not concerned about them. The only ones I'm worried about are Kenjaku, Sukuna, and Gojo. If anyone has a chance of killing me, it'll be one of those. " As soon as he said this, Mai spoke asking a question.

" Gojo is sealed? So, why does he matter? "

" Be honest with yourself. Do you think, that seal will contain Gojo for long? I'll be surprised if the seal lasts longer than three weeks. " Responded Mute, Mai nodded, before asking another question.

" So what are you going to do? "

" Go with the flow. But what you can do is... Go get me a drink from the store. The cheap bastards that gave me this penthouse didn't stock the refrigerator. " Said Mute with an annoyed look on his face. Right when, he said this, Mai let out a loud sigh and turned around and walked towards the door, before exiting the room.

Mute watched Mai leave the room before his eyes looked back towards the TV, he focused on the TV as his mind started to race with thoughts...

Kenjaku, Sukuna, or Gojo. Which one will I go after first? Obviously, I lied to Mai, I'll have to plan out a strategy to win this upcoming battle. After all, I'm going against the top dogs of sorcery now. By myself.

Kenjaku would be the easiest to fight between Gojo and Sukuna when it comes to pure strength. But he already knows that and most likely has a countermeasure to battle me. Most likely a cursed tool that will limit my abilities in some way. I guess living thousands of years, gives you the benefit of having weapons no one else knows about.

Sukuna is still stuck in that one sorcerer's body, but I don't have to worry about him. If the Jujutsu world reacts, like I think they will. The Jujutsu Higher-Ups will order his execution soon enough. He and his allies will have to fend off the assassins that will go after the bounty on his head.

And Gojo is still sealed, he is also someone I don't have to worry about. The only thing, I should truthfully be concerned about, is if Kenjaku and Sukuna are working together. Kenjaku is thousands of years old, so he and Sukuna are most likely acquaintances. If they are working together, it'll be quite a gamble to attack either of them.

I'll need something to change the tide of battle if those are working together. And if that is- Before I could finish my train of thought, the doorknob leading into this room suddenly turned and Mai walked back into the room.

I stared at her confused, before I glanced down at her hand, seeing her holding onto a wrinkled bottle of water. I stared at the water bottle before my brain clicked, and an Idea flowed into my head. I let out a grin, as Mai spoke.

" Here is the drink you asked for. The store drinks are gone, I'm guessing the citizens ransacked them when the curses began to attack citizens. So, I found a used water bottle on the ground and filled it up at a water fountain. "

" You think you're funny, don't you? But it's fine. Just go to the refrigerator for me and get me a drink. " She looked at me confused before she spoke.

" You said, the refrigerator was empty? "

" Yeah, I lied, I just wanted a reason to get you out of this room. "...
