25 Chapter 23 | Abandoned Dorm! (3)

Walking through the forest alongside Alexis, I looked around at the scenery.

"Eerie," was the only way I could describe it. Maybe it was because it was the middle of the night, but the path looked somewhat creepy, how Alexis was fine with this alluded even me.

"Alexis, do you watch horror movies?" I asked off-handedly, taking a shot in the dark.

I was now more interested in this topic than the creepy path. She didn't seem like the type to watch horror movies, but then again, Zane didn't seem like the type of guy to be a masochist...

"Huh? That was out of nowhere..." Alexis turned to me.

"Well, you seem fine even though this path has horror movie potential," I explained with a shrug.

"Illumi, do you think I'm some scared little girl?" Alexis stared at me with a glare that could kill.

Realizing I had stepped on a landmine, I quickly shook my head in denial, "No, not at all! If anyone's a 'scared little girl' it's Syrus."

Throwing Syrus under the bus, I somehow managed to calm Alexis down.

"Haah... If you're curious, I've just taken this path a lot..." Alexis mumbled, her tone became solemn and tired.

"..." I didn't know why her mood suddenly shifted so much and chose to just remain silent.

It doesn't seem like she wants to talk about it...

"Cough... So... I heard you got second on the test?" I tried to change the topic.

"Tsk! You wanna rub it in, huh?" Alexis snapped at me.

Well, I had stolen the top spot from her, and I hadn't even studied...

I smirked smugly, "Too bad a few more points and you could of- oh wait, you still wouldn't rank 1st!"

"That's it!" Alexis tried to throw a punch at me, but I easily dodged it and started sprinting away.

"Come back here!"

"Never! Viva la Revolution!"

Approaching a run-down Dorm, I felt the atmosphere darken as Alexis, alone, walked up to the dorm and placed a flower from inside her bag, down in front of it.

"Shit..." I realized what that dorm meant, remembering some bits and pieces from the anime.

It was the dorm in which Alexis's brother disappeared from... Now I feel kinda bad now...

It seemed I had intruded on something I shouldn't have, especially considering how important her brother was to Alexis.

"Wait, I feel like I'm forgetting something..." I remembered something was supposed to happen at the dorm. What was it...?

"Oh yeah! That shadow due- Thud!" my voice was interrupted by a sudden blunt force to the back of my head. Normally, I could easily dodge or resist it, but it seemed my body had weakened from just unlocking Sheou's dragonmaid mode.

"Illumi!" I heard Alexis's panicked scream as my consciousness faded out.

"Let the shadows take you!" Another annoying voice called out from behind me, in the direction where I was struck.

"No U, Bitch..." I squeezed out before completely losing consciousness.
