Chapter 3

I flopped down on my bed, covering my eyes with my arm as I just groaned.

I was never the most social creature, so interacting with Yugi, Kaiba, and Jaden… All of whom were incredibly thicc was a bit much for me, I don't know how I even managed to talk with them for so long without freaking out.

Honestly, Jaden was the one hardest to deal with… So bubbly and sweet, and fun to be around. She also didn't seem to have very much of a sense of personal space, so she seemed to press against me unintentionally…

Granted, I also couldn't blame her as I recalled her backstory.

From a very young age, Jaden had an incredibly affinity with duel spirits, able to see and hear them when she was very young. As a gift to her, her father gave her the Yubel card. Jaden formed an inseparable, unbreakable bond with Yubel.

The thing was, Yubel was very possessive over Jaden and protective of her and their bond… So, whenever they duelled, Yubel would use her powers to hurt people who she deemed as a threat to her bond with Jaden… Which was, basically, everyone.

Of course, rumours began to fly around about Jaden, and people began to refuse to duel against her. Even when Jaden realised that Yubel was the cause of everything, she still refused to give her up, no matter what. As a result, Jaden suffered from extreme isolation and loneliness with only Yubel for company.

Around that time, Industrial Illusions and Kaiba Corp worked together to create a drawing contest, that would see the winner's cards being turned into real cards and being sent into space. The purpose behind it was to imbue cards with Space Waves… Whatever that meant.

I had entered that contest myself, having subconsciously created a card for Star-Vader – Nebula Lord Dragon from CFV, but my design sadly didn't win.

Jaden entered the contest and won with her designs for the Neo-Spacians, Neos and some others. Thus, those cards were shot into space… And Jaden was also convinced to allow Yubel to be sent into space temporarily, with the hopes that the 'space waves' would calm her down.

After that… Jaden began to suffer from nightmares thanks to her bond with Yubel, of Yubel burning in flames. Yubel was being tortured by the light of destruction and was psychically reaching out to Jaden in hopes of being rescued.

Due to her nightmares, Jaden was unable to sleep, and became a bit erratic, begging for her parents to 'save Yubel.' As a result, her parents made her undergo shock therapy in order to erase her memories of Yubel and hopefully stop the nightmares.

In the end, Jaden's nightmares did finally stop… But the torture she'd been put through also made her subconsciously suppress all of her memories of Yubel, and also caused her to forget about participating in the contest. Anything related to Yubel was removed from her mind, leaving her only recalling the extreme loneliness and not understanding why nobody wanted to duel her or be her friend.

It really explained why, in the anime, Jaden was so willing to make friends with pretty much anyone he came across, and also why he loved duelling so much even when the fate of the world was online. All the enjoyment he should have gotten out of duelling when he was a child finally came to the surface at Duel Academy.

"Hey, how long are you just going to lay there ignoring me?" A voice spoke from above, making me uncover my eyes and stare into the crimson eyes of the woman above me.

My own Dark Magician Girl, who would not shut up the entire time I was at the arena… She flaunted her body at me without shame, trying to get me to react… Both Yugi and Jaden had no doubt noticed her, but I pretended like I wasn't able to see her or else I would be even more embarrassed.

I do not know how I did it. So do not ask.

"Do you know how damn embarrassing it was that you fucking were flaunting yourself? The other three sitting with me could see you the entire time, one of them just refused to acknowledge you…"

She smirked. "Well, you created me, right? You wanted a Dark Magician Girl who wasn't a prissy little goodie two shoes…" She began to reach out. "In other words, you wanted a dirty girl like me who wasn't afraid to be a filthy degenerate, right…?"

My eyes widened as I saw her hand going for my crotch, only to pass right through.

"Tch," she clicked her tongue. "So, it seems that I'm not quite strong enough to fully materialise like Mana can then… It will take more time until that point."

I felt my body relax in minor relief, and maybe slight disappointment.

She was gorgeous and loyal… If she wasn't toxic either, she would be pretty much perfect.

"Right, why have you started showing up now instead of last week when I created you?" I asked her.

"Allow me to answer that, my Lord," another voice- more mature- spoke up and I turned my head and blinked as I saw Seeker Magician Girl floating there with a stoic expression on her face.

"… Seeker?"

"Yes," she nodded softly. "The reason none of us have manifested properly before now is because we were not charged with D.E.- Duel Energy. For spirits to properly manifest, we must be played in a Duel. It is a restriction for many Spirits, manifestation requires us first to be used. The more you use us in Duels, the more Duel Energy we will acquire. If we acquire enough energy, then we will be able to physically manifest in the world… Or evolve."

"Evolve? Like… Take on new forms?" I asked, wanting to be sure that was what she meant.

"Yes," she nodded. "Unfortunately, the amount of D.E. required to evolve one such as myself would be far too much, merely manifesting in the world in a physical body would be my best hope… However, Dark Magician Girl and that Synchro Monster you created are different."

Ah, now I understood… It was the inherent limitation of their potential.

Since I had used a Legendary Blank Card to create Dark Magician Girl, her 'potential' threshold was VASTLY higher, meaning that she would be capable of evolving once she obtained enough Duel Energy. But Seeker Magician Girl was made from an Epic card, the amount of energy required for her evolution was so high that merely manifesting in the world would be her best bet.

"Yeah, now that we've got that explanation out the way," DMG rolled her eyes and looked at me. "Give me a name."

I blinked as I looked at her. "What?"

"Give. Me. A name," she told me… No, she demanded from me.

I looked to Seeker Magician Girl helplessly.

"Put simply… We aren't exactly fans of the fact that we don't have 'true' names," Seeker told me. "More intimate names we can refer to each other as… Seeker is minorly acceptable, but referring to her as DMG or Dark Magician Girl will quickly become tedious. Therefore, we want you- our master- to bestow names so that we can have a stronger bond with you."

I sighed… Well, I supposed that did make sense. Really, Dark Magician Girl and Seeker Magician Girl were both more like 'Titles.' The only 'named' card I had right now besides Tezcatlipoca was my Synchro Monster… It was no wonder they both were feeling a bit jealous.

"Alright, just give me a bit to think of a good name," I told them. "You're putting me on the spot, so I need a bit to think about it."

"Good!" DMG crossed her arms with a pleased look on her face, while Seeker still remained stoic, but her eyes changed just a bit to look thankful and just a tad eager.

I sighed tiredly and made my way over to my desk, pulling out my notebook and writing a small note on the first page.

Give all created cards names so as to prevent jealousy.

"Pft-!" I heard a snort behind me and didn't need to look back to see who it was.

I flipped to a more current page and began to make notes. This book was my way of organizing my thoughts and what I knew about each 'world' so as to try and guess what events might happen or might not happen.

Firstly, Turbo Duels didn't exist in this world…

Thank. God.

Nothing against Turbo Duels, but I did not have a driver's license, and I wasn't going to trust the autopilot with how much they actually seemed to need to control the bikes in the show… Also, the fact I'd have to change out my deck for Speed Spells or use Epic or Legendary cards to create new Speed Spells tailor made for my deck was just not something to look forward to.

Next thing of notice, there was no 'Satellite' in this world. That was to say, the literal trash city born from Domino City exploding and splitting in two thanks to Roman- or Rudger- Goodwin destroying the 'Moment.'

In this world, Professor Fudo made the Moment perfectly, allowing Domino City to be powered by the energy generated from Duelling. Kaiba Corp oversaw maintenance, which meant the absolute worst future of 5D's shouldn't come to pass… So, the only issue should be the Dark Signers.

Of which I was one.

Fuuuuuuuu-

Worry about that later…

GX…

We were going to Duel Academy, I just had to assume anything and everything about GX would happen.

Then Zexal… Ugh, I did not remember much about Zexal except that Rio was everyone's favourite waifu, and the whole thing with the Numbers monsters and Barians…

And then of course there was the events of Yu-Gi-Oh proper with the God Cards, Yugi trying to find out Atem's past and everything…

I stared at my notebook and then buried my face into it…

THERE WAS NO FUCKING WAY I WOULD BE ABLE TO PREDICT THE ORDER OF EVENTS!!

Basically, besides my knowledge on duelling from the anime, games, and watching world championships, most Yu-Gi-Oh knowledge I had was basically worthless… I could assume backgrounds may be roughly the same, but I should NOT assume I knew everything about both the characters and this world.

I sighed and tossed my notebook in my duffel bag, cracking my neck before I glanced over to see Dark Magician Girl glaring at me… This girl, she really wanted that name, huh?

A woman who would experiment with the vilest of dark magics was getting all annoyed about not having a name…

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration hit me.

"Pandora."

"Eh?" Both she and Seeker blinked in surprise.

"Pandora," I repeated to her. "In legends, Pandora was a woman who opened a jar that unleashed all the evils unto the world. For you, who dabbles in the blackest of magics, Pandora is a fitting name, right?"

"Pandora… Pandora…" She smiled slowly. "Mm! I like it! From now on, I am Pandora, the Dark Magician Girl!"

"Tch… Lucky…" Seeker murmured under her breath.

"Sonia," I said next as I looked at Seeker Magician Girl.

"Sonia…?" She questioned me, but the way her eyes lit up told me she didn't mind the name at all.

"It means wise," I told her. "You keep yourself calm and collected, and you use your knowledge to locate your comrades. Therefore, Sonia is a perfect name for you."

"Sonia…" A small smile crawled onto her lips. "I will wear this name with pride, my Lord."

I only smiled lightly at them before I focused on packing away everything that I could fit into my Duffel Bag.

Duel Academy awaited me.
