Traveling With My Husband (5)

For the first time ever, the 300 people were feeling happy. When they were a slave, they were treated even more horrible than animals and had received a shiver of kindness. They barely had enough food, barely had any clothes to cover them and were struggling to live when they were still as slaves. They were kicked and punched for nothing when they were slaves.

Yet, the person who bought them, didn't keep them as slaves, but to reborn them again. She had a cold demeanor, but was kind in her own way. She had given them time to rest and nurture their-self for three days. They didn't want to ask for more. Having a master like her, was something they will never see again if they betrayed her. Every single one of them swore that if they ever betrayed their master, they would slit their throat.

She had left early to make up for her dear puppy because she really couldn't bare to see his face again. "Honey... I'm sorry... I'm here to make up for my words."

"I waited for 24 hours just spend time with you. Give me a month to do whatever I want with you."

"Sure! Whatever you want!"

"Let's go out."

"Out where?"

"To a different city."

"Alright. Which way are we heading? North, east, south, or west?"

"North."

They both left Pang'an and headed toward a another place of which they had no idea about. They were new to this world and not explored it yet, so they were practically clueless about the world in all. They were just heading straight north and if they saw something that intrigued their eyes, they would go there.

After flying for a while, they reached a small little town. The town was full of poverty just like the remote area she had been living in, but the town seemed to be down. There was no life to it at all. She didn't know why, but seeing a village that seemed to have lost its star, hurt her insides. She really wanted to help them.

When she landed, the few people on the streets stared at her with nothing, but a gaze of hate and jealousy. Because of their stares, she made out an idea that the reason why the place was like this was because of rich people. She went to a stall that was selling meat buns and bought a bun for herself. When she did, she noticed that the owner had the same look like everyone else, except there was a sadness to it.

She ate the bun she just bought and was surprised by how good it tasted like. It was heavenly unlike the other buns she tasted. She was a food critic herself, so if when she complimented someone's cooking, it meant it was bound to be good. The bun brought pure happiness to her as she ate in silence.

The stall owners, no older than 14 and 16, both looked at her in expectancy as if she was going to do something horrible, but nothing happened. They didn't know that she was actually eating the bun as if cherishing it because of her mask and veiled hat. They just stood there silently waiting for her to yell at them like the others always did.

However, what surprised them was that, they did not receive words, but some money. They opened their mouth in shock to see that they were actually being paid. They stared at the lady in disbelief as she lifted her hat and said in a happy voice, "Would you mind letting me buy more? These are the best meat buns I've eaten in centuries."

The man beside her interrupted them saying, "I can have someone cook for you."

"Xiao Qiang, you know that I'm a master cook myself. When I compliment someone's cooking, it means it really is good. It's a pity you can't try it. Little child, what are your names? Would you mind me asking who made these?"

They shook their head showing that they didn't mind and pointed at their house behind their stall. It seems the person who made it was in there. "Thank you. Here's my payment. Keep the extra. Wold you mind if I sat here?"

"N-no..." They spoke so slowly. In their eyes was hope, but their voice showed cowardice.

"Thank you!" While she sat the table next to the stall to eat her meat buns, she asked them a question. "You haven't told me your name yet. My name is Xia Lin. Call me Sister Lin. His name is Wei Qiang. You can call him Brother Qiang."

"U-um, my name is Jun. B-big brother's name is Zhong."

"Speak freely. There's no need to fear me. I won't harm you."

"That's a lie! All you filthy rich creatures come here everyday and terrorize us to pay up when we don't even have enough for a living!"

She had a shocked face. So that's why this place was so sickening when I entered. Those corrupted b****! To even think that they would do so much just for money! Once I find out it is that governs this town, I'll definitely cut off their hands!

Because of her mad face, the duo got scared. She barely remembered that there was children in front of her. "I'm sorry. This sister has no relations to the people who governs this town. This sister was merely coming here on travel."

"Lin'er, the entire people doesn't seem to want us here. Let's go."

"No! Not yet. I want to torture those disgusting creatures that has been ransacking this town. Xiao Qiang, this place is already stricken with grief and poverty. Let me help them, please?"

"No. You may get hurt."

"Xiao Qiang, I can wipe out the entire royal family and start a new reign like nothing. These are just people from a small town. The most they will do is throw rocks at me. It's much better than having a sword impale my whole entire body."

"Fine, but if you need help, you must tell me."

"Okay. Don't worry!" However, what Xiao Qiang was right. The citizens of this small town was basically glaring at me as if I had tortured the children. Anyhow, I need to set things straight. I must get rid of the government here. "Child, I really came here with no thoughts of harming you and look, I even paid for the buns I just ate. Please let this sister off alright?"

"You really didn't come here to hurt us?"

"Of course not! I'm a teacher at a school that is in the most poorest part of the city. I made a promise to my husband that I would do whatever he wished as punishment for ignoring him for days. Us coming to this town was by chance. Anyhow, now that I'm here and I already know half of the story, let me stay here to help. Please?"

"I-I d-don't know. It's father who can decide that."

"Alright, then how about you go ask your father if this sister can stay over for a few days?"

"U-um... Alright..." Jun left with her brother to go ask their parents. Hopefully they let me stay, even if it's just for a while.

Then, a voice in a loud grumble spoke, "You can stay, but only for a short while. The rest will get suspicious."

"Thank you very much, sir!" A soft voice then also spoke, "Are you sure?"

"As long as she doesn't do any harm, then it's okay. If she does, I will fight with my life."

"Honey, stop it already... Your own health is already dragging you down. Please don't." I just found my ticket in.

With my qigong, I went to where the father was and saw that he was lying in bed looking frail and weak. "Sir, if you going to beat me, at least gain some more meat. In this state, I can knock you down with just the wind. Although your spiritual energy is strong, your sickness is dragging that down with you, even you fought me, you would die. How about letting me stay to heal you?"

"Y-you, can you really cure my husband?"

"I learned the art of medicine since long ago. Don't worry. I have 100% chance of curing him."

"Thank you so much Miss Lin!"

"There's no need to thank me. Just let me stay for 2 days is good enough."

"Alright. But is 2 days enough for you to heal him?"

"By the time it is time for dinner, your husband will be full of vigor again, I can guarantee you that."

"Thank you so much!"

"We don't have money to pay you for your medical fees. We have tools for you to use. Don't make your stay any longer."

"Sir, your sickness is from your how your spiritual energy had collected to qi. It is from you spiritual powers itself, so there is no need for tools other than my own powers."

"Are you sure you even have the power to do so? I don't sense you having an aura at all."

"Want to try?" I may have showed him a smile, but my voice was full of dangerous aura.

"Who are you?"

"All you need to know is that my name is Xia Lin. Now get into a meditating position. Your body doesn't have any energy to support rising, but I've added some force to help you move."

"When?"

"Since when I appeared in front of you. Now, make sure you follow your essential points. I will be sending your spiritual energy to spread evenly in your body." I then closed my eyes and let its vision travel inside of his body. I had thought that his case was something normal, but who knew that it was so far from my thoughts.

He has no light spiritual energy! All of it had been infected and turned into dark spiritual energy. So that's why he was suffering more than usual. He was trying so hard to summon his powers, that it hurt because all of it was no longer light.

However, this was still easy to solve. She was happy that she had a mix of both light and dark in her body, so there is no harm having dark energy inside of her body. She emptied the old man's spiritual storage and sent the dark energy into her own body while at the same time refilling the old man's with her own light energy. Her's was more pure and was much stronger, so a dark energy couldn't invade the space even if it wanted it to.

Finishing the process, she left his body, but was surprised to find herself coughing up blood. Xiao Qiang who was originally on standby was scared by the abrupt scene of her coughing blood, so he unconsciously went to her and touched her. He was so scared that he didn't even notice they touching. She however, felt that the dark energy was too strong, so she didn't know how she did it, but she disposed of it and saw it flew off towards Xiao Qiang.

At first, she was worried that he may have the pain that she just had, but he showed no symptoms of it. Other than showing that he was able to touch her now. She was surprised and looked at him with a happy face and hugged him tightly. She missed his hugs a lot. She thought that this day would never come, yet, today it came, but how. She wondered.

"Xiao Qiang, you're touching me."

"Because I was worried about you... Wait--... We're touching!" He hugged me even tighter as if scared to lose me.

The people on the sidelines looked at us in wonder at why it was such a magical event to be touching each other. After the both of them had calmed down, she explain to the Duan Family about they were so happy from touching each other. When she finished her story, they stared at her and him in amazement.

"Ah, right... Mister, you should be fine now. Sigh... I can't believe that something so strong could overpower your own light spiritual energy. I've used my own to supply you. You should be feeling at least ten times better although you still feel the fatigue."

"Miss Lin, I really have no words to express my happiness right now, but are you not hurt? You were coughing blood when we were finished."

"Ah! It's fine. The dark energy was so powerful that it was practically destroying my insides. I threw it away as soon as I felt the pain. However, don't worry about it coming back. My light spiritual energy is much more fiercer than others and also, the dark spiritual energy originally belonged to Xiao Qiang, so his body will naturally eat it up."
