S City, capital of the M nation, a city known for its bustling and busy nightlife, hospitality and specialty dishes. Situated right in the heart of this vast metropolis, stands the proud and tall Navarro Corporation, a well facilitated medical enterprise, known for their outstanding, versatile and unrivaled medical skills. It's peaceful and serene environment, alongside the beautiful garden where varieties of ornamental crops are grown, could also be a leeway to speedy recovery, it truly lived up to it's reputation as one of the most outstanding medical institution in the country. However, this serenity was a far cry from the tensed atmosphere in the CEO's office.

Seated at the executive chair, right behind the desk was Luis Navarro, CEO of Navarro Corporation, one look at him and you could tell how dashing he was in his younger years, even the white hairs on his head in no way defied his outstanding looks, the only flaw on him right now would probably be the scowl plastered on his face while he stared angrily at the Chief Surgeon.

"Mr. Navarro, we can always come up with something, suspending Dr. Jefferson is probably not the best option, we tried so hard to bring him over from the U.S. and don't forget the Regional conference is in a month's time, we just can't let all of our efforts go down the drain" the Chief Surgeon, Dr. Hugo said, with cold sweat trickling down his face.

" You're talking about our efforts going down the drain, what about the reputation we've all worked hard to build? Are we going to put everything at stake just because one doctor got carried away by his emotions? Mr. Navarro roared, slamming his hand on the desk, making the other four occupants of the room jolt.

"We can always hold a press conference and come up with something to tell the media." Dr. Hugo persisted.

"Go ahead, tell me, what exactly will you say to the media, that one of our doctors killed a patient on an operating table just because he realized the patient was his ex- girlfriend's fiancé? Do you think we run a reality show here?"

" Actually, the man in question is not dead, he's in a coma, the other doctors in the operating room noticed something was wrong and raised alarm." Dr. Carina, another female doctor in the room spoke up.

"What's the difference? The man is a vegetable, it'd be a miracle if he wakes up. The victim's family are demanding we turn him over to the police, they've already filed a case of attempted murder, it's only a matter of time before this matter gets blown up, and with the Regional conference in a month's time, I'm already at my wit's end." Mr. Navarro said resignedly.

" Umm… about the Regional conference, Dr. Leonor can attend in Dr. Jefferson's place, she's just as outstanding as he is in our hospital." Dr. Carina spoke up again, with her hand crossed behind her back while flashing Leonor a slight smile.

" Yes, yes, our Leonor is so good, how could I forget? We'd send her to the Regional conference in C Nation while we settle this issue over here." Dr. Hugo said, obviously patronizing the young lady.

" There's nothing to be settled here, we'd hand this young man over to the police, if after trial, he's found innocent, we'd send him back to were he came from, we can't afford to make any more mistakes, if there's nothing else, the meeting is dismissed." Mr. Navarro said coldly.

"Sir…" Dr. Jefferson, who had been quiet this whole time thought to plead for his life.

"That's enough, I can only do this much, a lot is at stake here." Mr. Navarro said and dismissed them. Well, all except the pretty young lady who hadn't said a word the whole time, she walked up to the table and sat in the chair across Mr. Navarro's.

" Leonor, tell Dad, will it be too much to have you attend the conference?" Mr. Navarro asked worriedly.

" You've protected me for so long dad, it's high time you loosen up a bit, don't you think?" Leonor replied, placing her hand on her father's.

" I just don't think it's safe for you to be so far from me, you know how many people are after me, the last thing I can ever jeopardize is your safety.

" Aside being your daughter, I'm also a staff here at the hospital, I also have my obligations to fulfill, you can't always keep hindering me, you know that right? Besides, you know how hard we worked just to be a part of the Regional council, now that we've received an invitation to the conference, it can be considered as a stepping stone." Leonor reassuringly said.

" That place is full of wolves in sheep's clothing, especially the Ricardo's."

" I know Dad but we can never be careful enough, just let this go through, you're already under enough pressure. I'll leave now if there's nothing else." Leonor said a she stood up to take her leave.

Midway to the door she hear her father say " Don't forget about the dinner with the Villanueva's tonight, it'd be embarrassing to keep the Elder waiting."

At the mention of the Villanueva's, Leonor froze before nodding slightly and walked out the door.
