Cheater?

"Let the trial of Ares, commence!" Kate shouted

"Alright, Ashton just stick to the plan, and you will be fine" Ashton mentally reassured himself "Just focus!"

Ashton took off his wristbands and concentrated "Come on curse! You've done this to me my entire life, just do it on command for once!"

After a bit, Ashton's hands started emitting a purple light "Yes!" He said, looking at the glow confidently

"Alright then, you're going to move for me!" He said looking at the new girl and Ava, the goodie two shoes

Ava charged at the new girl and swung at them, unfortunately, her swing brought her off balance, allowing even an amateur to attack them

The new girl grabbed her sword and stabbed Ava, sending her to the stands

She looked at her sword shocked "Yes! I got someo-

Unfortunately, was cut off by getting teleported to the stands alongside Ava

"Huh!? What happened!?" They yelled confused

Ava pointed back at the arena "That Chaos kid cheated that's what!" She accused

The new girl looked back onto the arena and then looked at Ashton "What do you mean? How did he cheat?" She asked

"He sent you to the stands with magic, I know it!" Ava proclaimed

Ashton looked up to the stands and noticed their confinement "They're probably wondering how I did that, If only they found out about the loophole" He said smirking cockily

He looked at his hand and revealed a dagger and chain tied to his wristband "Not gonna lie, this is pretty useful"

"Haha! Take that!" Ashton heard behind him

Ashton looked around and saw Tyrone attacking random people in the arena

Angel, the daughter of Aphrodite was being attacked by Tyrone "Oh god, I'm not a fighter, just please make it quick" Angel said being a victim to Tyrone's massacre

Tyrone swung at Angel fast and emotionless, he then turned around and looked at Ashton intensely

He stared Ashton down and got his weapon ready "Ash! You're next!" Tyrone said charging towards his prey

Ashton took a deep breath "Man, I really hope this plan works" He said to himself worriedly

He calmed down and continued with his plan "Hey Tyrone! Have you seen Alex?"

Tyrone stops charging at him and responds confused "Who?"

"The son of Apollo! That guy is crazy strong, he says he's the best fighter in camp!" He responded, saying the last part extra loud to taunt Tyrone more

While speaking, Ashton slowly headed closer towards Tyrone, until he was in the range of his dagger and chain

"Where is he!? I'll destroy him!" Tyrone shouted furiously

"Look he's right there!" Ashton said pointing behind him

Tyrone turned around giving Ashton a perfect opportunity to strike him "Now's my chance!" He thought

"Here goes nothing" Ashton prayed

Ashton swung the chain attached to his dagger, causing it to fling at Tyrone at an incredible speed

"There he is! I'll get that bast-"

Tyrone was shut up upon getting sent to the stands

"What!? I lost!?" He says in shock

"Chaos kid got you too huh" New girl said feeling bad for Tyrone

"That guy..." Tyrone says

"Yes I know, he's such a che- Before Ava could finish her sentence, Tyrone shouted cutting her off

Tyrone started jumping up and down "He's such an awesome fighter! He's amazing! I want to fight him again soon!"

"Well looks like Tyrone isn't mad at me, that's good," Ashton said, relieved he didn't lose a friend

Ashton looks around at the rest of the competition "Okay now, all that left is me, Marsh, Alex, that Hades kid, and Aphrodite boy"

He walked to a corner and hid from the other opponents "I should be able to hide from the rest of them" He thought to himself

Ashton observed the battle that was unfolding with the remaining contestants

As Marsh said she would, she was up in the air swooping up and down, giving random attacks here and there

"Come down here and fight us!" The Aphrodite boy shouted

"How about you get up here and fight me!" Marsh responded

"Maybe I should focus on the bigger threat, that Apollo boy, I should go for him first!" The son of Hades thought charging at Alex

"You're making a huge mistake" Alex warned

Alex dodged his attack and was about to strike back but had to avoid another attack from the son of Aphrodite causing him to retreat

"Teaming on me?" Alex says

"This is the best choice okay!" The son of Aphrodite responded

Alex readied his spear "Well, then I guess I gotta try a bit harder"

The son of Apollo closed his eyes and started taking deep breaths, after a few seconds he opened his eyes and instantly struck the son of hades

The son of Hades barely managed to block his strike "What the heck!?" He said in shock

Unfortunately for him, his sword broke from the force of Alex's spear

"Okay note to self, don't mess with Alex," Ashton thought to himself

While watching the battle, Ashton noticed something odd about Alex "Hold on, am I crazy, or did his eyes just flash red?"

Once Alex broke the sword, he finished him off with a clean strike from his spear

"Alright, your next!" Alex said pointing his spear at the Aphrodite boy

The Aphrodite boy ran towards Alex with his sword

"Is this in slow-motion or something?" Alex taunted while lowering his body weight

He ran towards the sword and did a fast spin at the last second dodging the strike

"How did he avoid the strike at the last second!?" The Aphrodite boy said

This attack left the Aphrodite boy completely open from the side, where Alex prepared to strike

"Sorry, I'm just stronger, no hard feelings," Alex said before finishing him off as well

"Well now all that's left is-

He was cut off by Marsh swooping down and attacking them

"You" He finished

"How is he gonna get her when she's in the sky?" The new girl asked

"We just have to keep watching to find out" Tyrone replied

Alex crouched down and got his spear in a throwing form "Don't tell me he's gonna throw it at her! She's 100 feet in the air and moving!" The son of Hades said

Alex proceeded to jump up and launch his spear in the sky

"This is what I meant Marsh, he isn't just accurate with the bow," Ashton thought

The spear moved at a fast speed and impaled Marsh perfectly

"Man, that took a lot out of me!" Alex says stretching

"Geez, You weren't kidding when you said you were powerful," Ashton said walking up to congratulate him

"You're pretty good as well Ash," He says

"So, do we get anything for winning?" Ashton asked

"I'm not sure, I'm sure they'll tell us though, come on let's head up," Alex says

As they went up, Ashton felt a pair of "evil eyes" staring at him, but couldn't pinpoint who was sending it

"Congratulations to the winners! Alex and Ashton you both fou-"

"Hold on! Ashton cheated!" The daughter of Harmonia accused

"How the hell did I cheat?" Ashton asked annoyed

"He used his cheap magic to teleport people to the arena!" Ava yelled

"If you had a brain you would know that I used a chain and dagger to slightly scratch people. I just kept hidden making it seem like I had no weapon" He responded confidently

"Excuse me!?" Ava said

"Oh my bad, You do have a brain, it's just a dumb one, sorry my bad" Ashton said agitating her

"Damn" Was heard in the distance from Alex

"What about his use of chaos magic!? That has to count as cheating!" Ava says angrily

"Chaos magic is allowed as it isn't physical magic, This is why Nick was able to use his magic, the same applies to Ash" Kate clarifies

"Still! He used dirty tricks! If I were to fight him one on one, I would win!" Ava proclaims

"All is fair in love and war and this is the trial of Ares" Ashton explained

"But, I'm willing to have a rematch with you, same weapons, same rules, no chaos magic and if you win I'll let you take my place as a winner" Ashton suggested

"Ash! You can't be serious!?" Alex says

"Oh I'll be fine, so Kate does this sound okay?" Ashton asked

"Well, what happens if you win?" She asks

"If I win, then you owe me a favor that you can't refuse" Ashton responded

"Do you agree with these terms, Ava?" Kate asks

"Sure, whatever, he won't win anyway," Ava says

Ashton suddenly seemed nervous, he looked like he was a bit worried

Both of them head down onto the arena "Alright I'll set some rules, first to get sent to the sidelines loses, only swords are allowed and no use of any sort of magic" Kate explains

Ava noticed Ashton's expression "He looks so scared! I've won! I'll prove to my mom, that I can protect peace!" Ava thought with confidence

"You start... Now!" Kate announces

Before anyone could move Ashton held his hands up

"L-listen can we t-talk about t-this, please! I didn't expect you to be on board with this idea!" Ashton shouted

Ava stepped closer cautiously

"Then put your weapon on the floor and surrender" Ava commands

Ashton started to put his weapon to the floor and started speaking

"I only did those cheap tricks because everyone here is so amazing, and you, I wanted to use my tricks to gain your respect, You being the daughter of Harmonia is so incredible, so I just wanted your respect, I'm sorry," Ashton said emotionally

"There's no way Ash would say that!" Tyrone thought furiously

"Maybe he isn't that bad," Ava thought and smiled

"It's okay just learn to win without those cheap tri-

Ashton dropped down and chucked some sand at Ava, blinding her

"Aaah! My eyes!" She screamed

"Man, I just hate when I have to act like I'm begging for mercy!" Ashton complained

"Damnit! That little! How could I fall for a son of Eris being good!?" Ava screamed internally

Ashton grabbed his weapon and struck Ava, winning the fight

"Well that settles that," Ashton thought to himself

He began heading back up to the sidelines

"Sorry for the delay everyone, we can get on with the ending of the trial now," He said calmly

"Ash! You're such a good actor! You fooled everyone here!" Alex said

"I knew you would never beg for mercy!" Tyrone said

Ashton could hear Ava yelling at him from a distance "You cheater! I'll never believe your words again you bastard!"

"So anyway, Kate what were you saying before Ava went crazy?" Ashton asked ignoring Ava's yelling

"Well, first of all, congratulations on winning the trial and second you and Alex both won a trip to the oracle, 1 question for each of you" Kate responds

"Oracle?" Ashton said confused

"You don't know that the oracle is!?" Angel said shocked

Ashton replied "Nope never heard of it"

"Well, the oracle is a mythical creature that can answer any question you have, although you have to be extremely specific about the question" Kate explains

"Hold on, I can know anything!?" He says shocked

"This is awesome, I can ask the oracle about the apple!" Ashton thought to himself excited

"Also everyone, I understand It's been a crazy day but I would like for all of you to meet up at the bonfire at 7 PM today, I have a surprise for you" Kate informs

"I wonder what this surprise is," I thought "Well I guess It's time to head back"

"It's been a crazy day"
