14 Chapter 14: Getting Started

The day continued after Nan'Ke therapy session with himself. He was now contemplating on where to go from here. He did know one thing that for sure and that was removing the bug that try to kill him, Mu Yen. However now wasn't the time, he hadn't built his base yet. This reminded him about the thought that crossed his mind before killing the man in black. 'A puzzle isn't solved if you don't have all the pieces' this was his thought just before he killed him. This meant that Nan'Ke was prepared to exploit information form his attacker but what made him actually kill him was another thought, 'Mercy to the adversaries is cruel to oneself'.

He executed him after thinking that. However Nan'Ke did believe he had others ways of getting the necessary information and one being form the source of his problems, Mu Yen. He then began searching searching through his would be killer phone and the USB stick he had on him. The USB drive didn't contain anything for him to determine who his enemies were, it only had some information about Nan'Ke himself. The phone was another matter as it housed various content of what was name 'Mission files' where it detail his task for the past 2 months, ranging from information gathering to full on assassination. The only additional detail that was stored in the phone was the only contact it contain named 'Ariel'.

After gaining all that he could he then destroy the devices before storing them in the copper container with the dead man's body. He was thinking of putting one of his plan in motion, buying a warehouse and to do just that he needed a real estate agent, luckily for him he happened to know one.

"Hello good day Mr. Zhang, I'm surprised to see your call; How can I help?" Bai Xiu Xiu said after answering the phone. "It's nice to hear your voice again Miss Bai, I'm looking for an old warehouse to buy, but the location must be secluded is there any available?" Nan'Ke inquired. "Hold let me check for you" Miss Bai responded.

While she was going through her listings, they held a conversation on meaningless things but the way they spoke to each others sounded like they were friends from a long time. Nan'Ke felt that Bai Xiu Xiu was pretty genuine in her conversations with him.

"I do have a warehouse, but it pretty old and haven't been use for 20 years. It's a two story building with a basement floor making it three floors in total. Seeing the condition the asking price is $35,000" Miss Bai informed Nan'Ke. He thought for a while 'hmmm, currently I don't have all that money, but I'm sure I can get it in a few days so let buy it'. "Well perfect Miss Bai I will take it but I was wonder if I can pay $25,000 now while paying the remainder within a month?" "That's no problem Mr. Zhang and please call me Xiu Xiu from now on." They spoke a few minutes longer hammering out the details, Nan'Ke had already received $27,000 (1,080*25) from his 'fix it bugs' online task just before calling and had now just transferred payment to Xiu Xiu with the official documentation and transfer of the warehouse signage would be done within a few days.

After that Nan'Ke proceeded to work more on his online coding task completing another twenty-five level 2 task, upgrading himself to level 3, which earned him another $27,000 but that would be received in a few days.

In then proceeded to check out the tasks for level 3 and he wasn't disappointed. Level 3 task consisted of coding, testing and building frameworks for companies that are huge in Long Country, from entertainment to gaming and business applications the cost for one task range from $1,800-3,000. Seeing the need for money Nan'Ke began working like he became possessed, only choosing task that paid $3,000 dollars.

Three days later

After three days of non-stop work of only eating and coding Nan'Ke had completed a total of fifty-five level 3 tasks which also allowed him to reach level 4. Because of this he had gain fame online for his ability to complete task in timely and efficient manner. All those on the forum or in the programming community were talking and idolizing the person known as C0D3-X.

Nan'Ke had generated a total sum of $148,500 (3000*55 - 3000*.1*55) after deducting his convenience fee, while also signing the transfer of the warehouse to his name paying the remaining $10,000 he owed and contacting a company to do repairs which cost him $120,000 in total. 'Money comes as fast as it goes, but the plan has succeeded. My online name has generated enough fame for those big mega-corporations to know about me or at least their workers in computer science would know so let's start the 'Great Hack'.

This was one of Nan'Ke plans he had devise after gaining knowledge in quantum programming, he would infiltrate a company by cyber attacks using their loopholes against them, then he would create a cyber security program to protect against those attacks before selling it to the companies. The security program was called 'Detox' as it was meant to the rid the company software security system of any bugs or vulnerabilities that may exist. The program didn't take long to complete as for him with his skill level it's basically child play.

In preparation for his plan he ask Xiu Xiu to put him into contact with a lawyer that understands secrecy so he would be his spoke-person when it came to making deals. Nan'Ke didn't stop to take a break or anything like that, his house was fully stock with foods, his bills paid for and school didn't start for another month or so. He had all the time right now to do what he wanted.

Nan'Ke then proceeded to hack companies that needs to maintain a level of high quality cybersecurity, these included: private banks, social media platforms, investment firms and some other institutions that claim to protect clients information. In total he hacked into a total of 7 companies that were the weakest as this was just the beginning, because as the news spread that those companies would have improved their security better than the more prominent companies, the prominent ones would come running to him for the upgrade as well and when the demand increases, the price will go up as he will always have constant supply.

Over the next few days the news spread in the business world that certain companies were hacked and that their client information was obtained by the hackers or at least that what the rumors suggested. What was not circulated was that the companies in question each received an email detailing the vulnerabilities in their systems as well as solutions to few problems as well as limited access to the 'detox' program. "Good evening Mr. Zhang, I just had a conversation with the president of the fourth company 'Chirp' he agreed to the terms of the deal and would transfer the money within days." The lawyer said on the phone. Over last days he had been working hard in completing deals with various company for huge amounts of money. Each deals was done separately and some companies paid more than others but that didn't bother him knowing the commission he was getting. "Well done, you've work hard these past few days, after completing the remaining three deal I would give you a bonus for the job you've done." Nan'Ke relayed to the lawyer, he had amass a whopping amount in these transactions total $55 million dollars as of now but he was sure it would exceed $100 million after the rest of the companies are dealt with.

After succeeding in his plan, his focus shifted on another project, his greatest ally the 'Assistant'. Over the course since killing his intruder, he has been working on 'her' in between his other projects. He was now 30% completed and can be operational in a control setting and what better place to than Mu City. All he needs to do now is have access to the City main power grid as well as the access to the 'Traffic and Pedestrian Management Center' where its just an official building that house the central hub for the cameras throughout the city. These cameras are located all over Mu City so if his plan works he would have eyes and hears all over making him truly in control at least he thought so.

'Okay first, let's buy the parts to make a water down version of a super computer. I don't need something otherworldly as it just a city I'm planning to overlook. I also need a remote hacking device that connects to any device nearby as 'Assistant' computer power would focus on the cameras and power station. Only if I'm doing a wide area search would I use 'her'. Nan'Ke thought out his next steps before proceeding.
