Chapter 7: Is this destiny?
Another day has come, and trouble greeted Xiaoqi from the corner.
Just as she went inside the office, she bumped into Su Qian who was clearly holding a grudge against her. It's said that today, the marketing department would have a meeting with the CEO to present their proposals for the past week.
On the other hand, Su Qian seemed like trouble and without a doubt she would do something that she wouldn't expect. Though unsure, Xiaoqi felt a bit of pity for her for whatever the matter may be.
After an hour, they all gathered in the office and waited for their CEO to come by.
Waiting for another five or ten minutes, he had finally shown himself walking through the dark-tainted door opened by some personnel or assistant of his. Xiaoqi stared as he made his way towards his seat which was located in the middle of the long rectangular dark glass table facing the projector.
Ah, for some reason, Xiaoqi envied him for a bit being able to enjoy the life of an heir, holding power and authority; it was just wonderful to see as she looked at his face in a daze.
"Where are your presentations?"
A question woke her up to reality. Seeing his face it seemed familiar. Looking closer, six chairs away from him, a memory popped up on her mind where one was the moment she locked eyes with him as the elevator doors were closing and the other was a faint familiarity with the face she thought she recognized on the car that day, although, this day the other guy didn't accompany him…
"Is there no one who's prepared to present? What's taking you so long? I don't have that much time to spare."
After saying that, the people who have readied their presentations went in front to present it to the crowd. After three to four people, all they heard from their CEO were rejects. Improvisation, too casual, boring, and so were his comments, making the others more nervous to present and the presenters to sit back in dismay.
However, hearing those comments delighted Xiaoqi who had agreed to what he was talking about keeping it in her mind. Moreover, hearing their CEO whom she just had a closer look this time talk was like music to her ears. His voice was manly, full of authority, and reasonable not cocky, but as what an educated man would be.
On the other corner of the table, Su Qian stare wasn't uneasy to be recognized by Xiaoqi which was piercing. It says 'Watch me; I'll make you regret what you said yesterday'. It kind of makes sense as she was the one who will be the next one to present her proposal which Xiaoqi deemed to be the one she let her scan that time.
Su Qian presented wonderfully with great confidence, however, she didn't change her proposal as Xiaoqi suggested. In the end, she just heard almost the same comment as she heard from Xiaoqi which inflamed her heart like a ticking bomb.
Meanwhile, Xiaoqi felt delight as she listened to the comment he gave to Su Qian was almost exactly the same as she said. She heart pounded with joy. There was a person who can understand her and thinks exactly like her in the company, she thought.
("Is this destiny?")
A thought suddently appeared in her mind, making her heart flutter for a second. Xiaoqi tried to erase the thought for she was only there to make money and not to—— Oh, right… she's not just to earn money but also find someone she truly loves. That's what she told her father the day she left her home, and he just found the perfect guy whom she fixed her eyes into. Sooner or later, he will be hers.
"I'll give you three days to present to me your proposal,"
And the meeting ended just like that. Their CEO left the room as others followed one by one. Xiaoqi took quite some time to leave the room just to see Su Qian waiting for her in front of the door. She was just about to ignore her and pass by her but…
"Xiaoqi just you wait. You may be right yesterday but that was just mere luck. Humph," she turned away after saying that.
Although she felt a bit of pity for her, she seemed to have liked her competitiveness. Although she was quite unreasonable finding faults with her, Xiaoqi thought she was someone who had potential, although she was quite immature handling things in such way.
Xiaoqi was in Group 4 with their leader Cen Suyin who works there for more than a year. She was said to be quite outstanding in marketing that's why she got promoted two months after being an official employee in the company. Her ability to work with any types of person, except someone like their CEO was great; she is both amiable and hardworking.
On the other hand, Su Qian was also a part of their group who looks up to Suyin while envying her a bit. She is someone who bursts with confident for some reason and she doesn't like it when others are better than her. Moreover, she doesn't like it when she gets told off about her work and ability by someone who's lower than her that's why she gets competitive with them. She wants to prove them that she can do better than them.
Time went by fast and the time for work was done. The sun started to set and together with her friend, Xiaoqi took a fare home. Talking about their exhausting works, and co-workers, they laughed their stress away with a hot bowl of chicken soup made by yours truly, as Yuyan still doesn't cook much.
Alas, time passes by so fast, and three days ended in a flash.

Oi, ohayo! Did you see that man, our CEO? He was truly handsome wearing his suit. With blonde hair and green eyes, he's matches well with me. His voice was even lovelier to hear as he uttered his words, I wish you could've heard it.
His presence was as cool as ice, but it melted my heart. The way he stands, his authority, and how he thinks; he's the perfect one for me. He is definitely the right one for me.
