1 Chapter 1

"Good morning" "oh hey good morning sis" "good morning honey" I yawned as I sat on the breakfast table , I looked over the counter to see mom placing some hotdogs along side the eggs and mashed potatoes,

 I got up to get a glass of water then I sat down to eat "Hey Lexie,do you know what day is it?"

"Thursday?" "Yeah, but I mean the date" I tried to remember yesterday's date but then everyone laughed as I looked confused "today's your birthday ! Happy birthday Lex" 

they all said between their laughs as I realised today was indeed my birthday "does that mean I can finally find my mate ??"

"Yes , my darling" mom smiled "I'm an adult now" I grinned as I thought I'd finally be normal and that I was just a late bloomer.

I smiled sadly at that memory  , on my 18th birthday I believed I'd finally experience love and attraction but no matter how hard I tried I never felt it, I tried dating some people but it always ended with me hurting them because I was unable to fall in love,

This was the third year after reaching adulthood, I gave up on finding love as most of me friends have already found their mate or are currently in a relationship.

I walked towards the forest near my house as I went deeper I reached one of my favourite places which was a small lake by a short waterfall,

I took off most of my clothes but left on my underwear as I placed my bag behind a bush and turned to the water as I winced at the cool water by my toes.

I quickly walked into the lake as my lower body was completely emerged in the water I took a dip

and when I pushed my hair out of my face I felt a pair of eyes on me there was a scent I couldn't pinpoint but it smelled nice, I then heard some noise from the direction of the eyes, I made my way towards them, my eyes started to glow as I was about go attack but it was just a fox.

I went back to the water as I relaxed for a bit before having to go back home to spend time with my family and pack my bags.

I had to go back to campus by tomorrow because classes will start in four days and we have to settle in the dorms before that so I had to say goodbye to my family.

I stayed with them for a couple of hours then went to my room to pack my things then went to bed "Lex" "hm?" "i love you" "I know that" "don't you have something to say too ? " the person looked me straight in the eyes, their eyes were very beautiful,

their scent was soothing and the words slipped out my mouth "I love you too (....)" the person then leaned in to kiss me looking at me with a look I've never seen, it was as if I was the only person for them in this world..

I shot up out of bed, looked at the time, It was 7 am I looked around my room, my heart racing, who was that person, I don't remember their name, how they looked or smelled all I remembered was the sense of security and love they gave me, the me in the dream was in love with that person, maybe it was a vision or maybe it was just my desire.

I went downstairs and mom was making two coffees I prepared breakfast and sat down next to her and dad, serving them their plates "good morning darling" mom said with a smile "good morning mom" dad was probably half asleep as he just waved at me while nodding his head trying not to go back to sleep.

I spoke with mom for a little bit and when it was time to leave she said "I hope you find your mate soon" I sighed "mom, you know a wolf can't find their mate unless their inner wolf is awake and all wolves awaken their's on their 18th birthday and I'm already 21 and it's still not awake"

"don't worry honey, it'll awaken eventually and you'll find your mate, I have a good feeling about it this time" I looked at mom with a small smile as I brought my belongings to the car I then hugged mom and dad  who was now fully awake and big brother who woke up a couple of minutes ago "don't forget your meds,Lex"

dad warned me because we don't know how many alpha wolves were at campus probably alot and I was a dominant Omega so my heat would make me an easy target, I made sure to take my heat suppressants and scent blockers,

then I hugged everyone once again before getting in my car to drive after about 4 hours I arrived at the campus I met up with Vanessa, one of my human friends, she knows that I'm a werewolf

"Lexieeeeeeee" "hey Vanessa, how are you?" "I'm okay, what about you?" "I'm okay as well just a bit tired is all" "oh, wanna come to the dorms then ?" "sure, I don't see why not"

Vanessa said she picked up my schedule for classes and dorm key for me I thanked her as I opened the door it seemed that my roommate already moved in from the open room door across from mine,

I got into my room and started unpacking then heard a knock on my door I figured it was my roommate I opened the door to find a boy about an inch or two taller than I am he had light brown hair,

slightly tan skin and aquamarine eyes he looked a little shy "hi, I'm your new roommate, my name is Liam Trevor"

he didn't have scent suppressants and the smell was dominant but not of an alpha "I'm Lexie Bolton and I'm also a dominant Omega" I smiled slightly as he wasn't as nervous or shy as before "nice to meet you Lexie"

Liam smiled as he shook my hand "nice to meet you too Liam" "do you need any help ?" Liam asked, I told him just unpacking the last box, it had my cooking ingredients and tools so I brought it to the mini kitchen and we both unpacked it then went to the living room and sat down "thanks for helping earlier"

"it's my pleasure, I was honestly kind of scared my roommate might be an alpha" "are you not mated yet?" "Well I'm not quite sure if I want to get marked yet but I did find my mate about 2 weeks ago" "I see, you should take your time"

after I said that the door bell rang, I went to see who it was, when I opened the door it was a big tan guy with jet black hair and gunmetal blue eyes, his scent was like a mix of various things but what stood out was the smell of dark chocolate,

I quietly let him in as he obviously came to see Liam, maybe that was his mate, once he passed by I heard a faint heart beat that sounded like a melody I shook it off as I went to my room got my bag and was about to leave.

"oh um, bye Liam, I'll be back later and bye uh?" "Elijah, Elijah Trevor" I looked at them again and they looked similar they must be Siblings I guess "I'm Lexie Bolton" "more like bolting" Elijah muttered under his breath mut I heard him loud and clear.

" I heard that!!" I said before leaving kind of annoyed, I went to the woods close to the dorms as I took of my jacket putting it in my bag, I went into the forest, the sun had about two hours before setting, 20 minutes after reaching a green area with a few trees and a boulder,

I sat on the boulder then I heard rustling by a Bush a couple of feet away from me I was on stand by but then I saw a big black wolf with grey and white marks and Amber eyes, the wolf was really beautiful,

I wanted to pet it, I got a little closer and it didn't seem to mind I put my hand near it's snout expecting it to bite me but to my surprise it pushed it's snout against my hand, I got closer and hugged it, feeling it's warmth and fur across my body,

it seemed too big for a normal wolf and it was quite heavy but, I really liked it and especially it's musky scent, it seemed familiar but I couldn't quite pinpoint it, I stopped hugging the wolf, it was confused as I stood behind it and lifted it's tail the wolf then turned around quickly and growled at me

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry , I was curious about your gender" I was a little nervous but then the wolf seemed to have calmed Down a bit, he must have thought I was gonna hurt him, I layed down on the grass and watched his reaction as he stood on top of me and flopped, I coughed at how heavy he was,

when he looked at me I smiled and hugged his neck stroking his fur as he layed his head near my neck, maybe he found my scent soothing as well we stayed like this for a bit before I closed my eyes.

when I woke up the sun was slowly setting and the wolf was standing next to me,

"you waited for me to wake up? What a good boy you are" I kissed the bridge of his nose "I think you should go back as well, your pack is probably waiting for you to go home, here take this"

I handed the wolf some bacon from the bacon sandwich I had and he chewed it and rubbed his head against my hand before running back deeper towards the forest,

I went back to the dorm to prepare dinner for me and Liam when I got to the dorm I checked for Liam's brother but he seemed to have already left so I started preparing dinner for just the two of us as i saw Liam getting out of his room "oh welcome back, were you meeting an alpha?"

I was confused as why he would say that "no , why?" "you just smell like you bathed in that alpha's scent" Liam laughed a bit as I remembered the wolf and his scent "I was in the woods and met a friendly wolf and spent some time with it"

'I know for one that he isn't some friendly wolf, Lexie must be his mate if he went as far as to meet her in his wolf form' Liam looked in deep thought as he smirked then quickly smiled "sooo? What are you.. Making?"

I raised an eyebrow "steak and sautéed veggies and mashed potatoes, anything you don't like?" "nope, I really like them" he looked excited, he prepared the table as I put down the plates "enjoy~"

"wow this is really delicious" Liam looked like he really enjoyed the food as he asked if there were seconds, so I served him the rest and he said he'd take care of the dishes so I took him upon his offer and went to my room as I went to take a shower to make that wolf's scent less obvious.

as soon as I closed my eyes to wash the shampoo out of my hair I felt a presence as if there was a very tall person standing behind me going for a hug from the back, I quickly opened my eyes, looked around but there was no one there,

I winced and shut my eyes when they started burning, just great now I got shampoo in my eyes, I tried getting out of the shower slowly as I washed my eyes in the sink and wrapped a towel around my body and went to dry my hair in my room,

I couldn't stop thinking about those gunmetal blue eyes apparently as I feel like I've seen them somewhere before I decided to go to sleep for now before hurting my head any longer with all of those thoughts floating around, I closed my eyes,

for the first time in my life, my wolf was awake and staring right back at me

"no way..." "yes way" the wolf looked straight at me "my name is Sierra" my wolf- no, Sierra introduced herself as she stood up "Why weren't you awake this entire time..?" "you see, you are a bit of a special case" "special case?" "yes, you are different from other dominant female omegas"

"does that mean I'm unable to find our mate?" "no, infact my senses are telling me our mate is on this campus but for some unknown reason I'm unable to tell where or who they are" I looked a bit disappointed but I was really glad that not only did I meet Sierra but Also I'd eventually meet my mate who is on campus.

Sierra comforted me and made me feel alot better when I woke up my body felt weird, I looked in the mirror, my face looked a bit flushed, my eyes were glowing and my fangs and nails were sharper,

I decided to take a shower knowing that those are the symptoms of awakening your wolf I couldn't do much about it as I started smelling an intense sweet smell and lavender around me I turned the water on and drew a bath instead because the smell was quite strong, I stayed there for about an hour before changing and patting my hair down gently with a towel,

the smell wasn't as obvious anymore and I looked normal now I got out of the shower and saw Liam yawn while getting out of his room "good morning"

"morning Lexie" he sounded fairly sleepy then again it was 8 am and we still didn't have classes yet, they start in 2 days, so we still had time to sleep in "um, Lexie?"

"yeah?" "is it bothersome if my brother comes over now? You two didn't really get to know each other yesterday" I didn't really wanna say yes but Liam might be upset, it'd better be on good terms with Elijah too "sure, I'll make enough breakfast for 3"

Liam looked puzzled "but you made dinner last night" "how about you make lunch then?" "okay then deal" Liam went back to his room probably to grab his phone and call his brother 10 minutes passed and as I was putting everyone's breakfast in plates out of 3 plates I placed on the counter two disappeared,

I looked over at Liam and he was pouring juice for us, I was confused then when I turned around to take the last plate to the table a shadow loomed over me I looked away from the plate to see that Elijah held his hands out to take the plate, he smiled "good morning"

I blushed and lowered my head a little "oh uh, good morning" "you know, you seem to stutter alot" I was no longer embarrassed I shoved the plate in his hands and went ahead to sit down next to Liam leaving him in the kitchen "what a jerk" I muttered under my breath before grabbing my chair to sit Elijah then sat down

"this smells delicious" he gave a small smile before trying it, I waited for him to taste it and comment his thoughts "wow, this is actually really good" he looked surprised as Liam smiled,

"I know right?! You should taste Lexie's steak too, it's to die for not to mention the sautéed veggies and mashed potatoes" Liam looked pretty excited and I started to feel more comfortable with the atmosphere.

"so Lexie, what is your major?" "I major in business" "oh ? I also major in business, management?" "yeah" I was surprised when I talked to Elijah more, he didn't actually seem like a jerk as I thought, i guess first impressions aren't reliable,

I found out that Elijah has alot of classes with me and that we were both third years not to mention had alot alike such as favourite foods, favourite color and other stuff but our personalities were different but even so I felt somehow connected with Elijah so I decided to become his friend,

I hung out with Liam, Vanessa and Elijah during the last two days in summer break then had to focus on my assignments when we started classes, around a week had passed, since then, I went to see the wolf every two days and today was the day I was visiting him again "hey Little buddy, did ya miss me?"

I opened my arms as he ran into my embrace making me fall backwards "I guess you did from your reaction, I missed you too~"

The wolf then snuggled with me and layed down on me as usual "hey! We still didn't decide on a name for you" the wolf put his head up and tilted it

"hmm, how about snuggles, you know cuz you like snuggling?" the wolf blew his hot breath in my face angrily as if refusing "Ok Umm, amby?" the wolf huffed again "so not that either? How about choco? You kinda smell like chocolate?"

"no wait coco ?" the wolf then wagged his tail "you agree to coco then?" the wolf snuggled against my face "okay from now on I'll call you Coco I smiled widely as I hugged Coco tightly as he snuggled back I smiled to myself then we stayed like this for a while before I voiced one of my thoughts

" hey Coco, have you ever felt so connected with wolf and yet you don't feel a mate bond because you aren't normal?" Coco looked at me intensely as if trying to understand my question "what am I even asking, even if you did feel that way, you are a wolf you wouldn't understand human language"

I hugged Coco again and wondered why my wolf never said anything towards anyone I've met so far "Coco, you probably have to head back home, I should too, I'll clear my head and come back after tomorrow, I'll miss you alot until then"

I kissed Coco's snout and he picked my cheek a little then headed back towards the forest, I headed back and took a shower then went to bed, Liam made breakfast the next day before going to class and so we ate together before leaving

As soon as I went to class I felt tired, Vanessa came to hang out with me since I only had 3 classes, two in the morning and one in the afternoon but, it wasn't for long as she had to leave for her own class, Elijah only had First class with me today

so we didn't get to hang out much, it was now half way through the last class and I started feeling hot, it was starting to become unbearable but class ended just in the nick of time, I quickly rushed out of class and hid somewhere, it was the old gym's locker room, it wasn't used since last year,

I rummaged through my bag but I didn't find my heat suppressants, my body felt like it was burning but, I got up and locked the door quickly then took off my flannel and wrapped it around my waist.

then pulled out my water bottle, spilled some on my head to help cool off, my tank top was half wet but I didn't care about that as I called Liam but he didn't answer, just my luck he was in class right now,

I couldn't call Vanessa, even if she were to leave class, my dorm room is way too far, someone else would find me and the worst case scenario could happen before she gets here, my only option was to call Elijah even if it is dangerous I'd rather it be him than any random alpha on campus.

as my scent was probably leaking by the second , I called him and hoped he would answer but he didn't, i pulled my knees towards my chest and tried to shrink further, I then sent my location and 'please come asap'

as the minutes passed I heard a loud knock on the door I hoped it was Elijah but my hopes were soon destroyed when the person started banging the door.

I was scared as I was unable to fight in this state I was trembling as the door looked like it would slam open in any minute as I kept my eyes glued to the door, my worst fear came to be an alpha was breathing heavily "so this is where you were, pretty little omega"

I trembled even further as what I feared most was about to happen as the guy inched closer "just be an obedient little omega and listen to your alpha~" he held my ankle as I pulled my knees further towards my chest "s-stay a-w-way"

my voice was trembling as I tried to fight back "what do you mean stay away, huh? You're literally begging me to mate with you~" as he got closer to me smiling with his fangs and lustful eyes I saw a huge figure punch the alpha,

I smelled the familiar scent and quickly got up and jumped to his chest tears streaming down my face " Eli, Elijah.." Elijah hugged me tightly as I could hear him grit his teeth as he was glaring at the man who was now on the floor, Elijah stepped on the man's hand "w-who are you and why are you g-getting in the way?" "non of your business"

Elijah said sternly then left as I trembled, he then readjusted himself and picked me up bridal style as I wrapped my arms around his neck " I'm sorry I was late, I came here as soon as I can but I wasn't fast enough"

"it's aright, you're here now" I said in a low quite voice just enough for him to here I started calming down but my body was still on fire, my heat has never been this bad not only did it come early but it's worse than it ever was, as I smelled Elijah's scent clearly I felt more relaxed and could hear the melody of his heart beat.

"Elijah?" "yes?" "your beat" "my beat?" "it's different" "hm?" "your heart beat sounds like a beautiful melody, I have never heard anything like it" Elijah seemed surprised "is that so?" "yeah.. Also, are you unaffected by all of this, are you not surprised why I called you?"

"I am doing my hardest to stay in control honestly and I was but I'm glad called me" "so you don't hate me?" "why would I hate you?" "I... I don't know" Elijah chuckled as I felt embarrassed then suddenly felt a surge of heat through my body again this time it was more intense and I started sweating bullets, tears ran down my cheeks rolling down Elijah's back,

he then seemed to rush faster to the dorms my wolf then started to scream 'Mate' as she was going crazy I slowly looked up to Elijah's face but he didn't seem affected so he probably didn't know,

so I kept my mouth shut as we reached the dorm and I gave Elijah the key, he swiftly opened the door and took me to my room he put me down on the bed and was about to leave the apartment but I asked him to stay even if its just in the living room or Liam's room.

"but I might be unable to control it anym-" "it's okay" "what" "if it's you, I'm okay with it" Elijah looked shocked "Lexie, you do realise that you aren't in your right mind, right" "I do and I don't care" "I'm not even your mate and you still don't care?"

why? Why did he say that? Does he really not know that I'm his mate? Or am I being delusional? Was it all just my mind jumbled up? "leave.." "huh?" "I said leave, here is the door, see yourself out" "hey Lexie I-" "just.leave.now."

Elijah didn't even look back as he closed the door to my room as a few seconds passed i heard a slam through the front door tears streamed down my face as not only did my wolf whine in pain, for the first time I felt betrayed and heartbroken, I believed you might have been the one for me but you don't seem to have the same belief....
