Is It Ready?

Maya was pressed against Nate as she took deep breaths, she tried to reign in her emotions. 

She could feel her heart pounding as Nate held her tightly by the waist, keeping her standing as she was dealt a painful blow. 

"I'm here, Maya, I'm here," Nate whispered to her as he rested his head on her shoulder breathing against the nape of her neck. 

"Nate," she groaned as she felt his hard body against her. 

She hadn't realized how strong he now felt, his once soft body was now well-defined and felt strong around her. She couldn't help but feel comforted being in his arms, she felt that he could protect her. 

"I'm sorry," he said as he continued to hold her.

"Did you know?" she asked as a stray tear fell from her eyes.

She could feel Nate hesitate. He didn't utter a single word as he seemingly debated whether he should tell her the truth or not.
