13 Otherworldly Deities

Whatever I said had a few holes here in there, but that lass was too shocked to catch onto it. It was too late and even if she realized it, I wouldn't have any problems.

In any case, I couldn't get to flirt with the Administrator as she sent me away, back in my awakening process. It was still going on as there were a few things I hadn't completed.

I was back in the starry sky type place. This wasn't the actual starry sky, rather, a higher ascended state of consciousness.

A mortal only had one chance to form connections with higher entities and it was at this moment. It was a vulnerable time as, if they weren't strong willed, they'd get swallowed by some star.

The stars here belonged to two categories of entities:

Dead and Alive.

The dead ones included souls of people and spirits that had died while the alive ones included the living people and spirits.

People and spirits were differentiated from the very fact that spirits came from non-living things such as artifacts or in some other mysterious way.

The most famous spirit I knew of was the Spirit of the Blazing Demonic Sword, wielded by none other than the edgelord himself.

That dude was the strongest sword master— no, the strongest sword god in existence. He's the strongest sword god in existence, it only makes sense that he's got that sword.

Demonic or holy, there was no sword in existence that the Heavenly Emperor could not wield. That's the power that dude had.

Well, at least, that's what I've heard from Lanlan. She loved her father and kept singing his praises. I've listened to this for so many years, I think I am subconsciously praising him too.

Anyway, I hate the edgelord. I have no reason to do so but I just do, because why not?

His talks aside, Blazing Demonic Sword was a normal sword at first, but the demonic guy that wielded it kept upgrading it. It got upgraded to the point it developed a spirit and eventually, once he was killed, the Heavenly Emperor took it.

The way spirits were born was fascinating. Another prime example of it was the Spirit of the Collateral Dreams. It was born due to a million people dreaming about the same thing.

The dead category people were the dead souls of spirits and people wandering randomly in the realms. They were the ones who didn't enter the cycle of reincarnation or get assimilated with the Death Essence, thus surviving till now.

They were naturally weaker than their living counterparts, but it was due to this that they could be tamed easily.

The downside was that they were weak and didn't really provide much strength. People said that they were good in the long term as they grew stronger with the master, but what use would be long term if I were to die now by some extra strong dude?

That's why, the best option in my opinion was the second one where you have a contract with a living strong being.

I could contact the Heavenly Emperor here, but I'd perish immediately if I even heard his voice or got looked at directly by him. It was better to stay away from strong beings like those.

It was a pity, but I could contact him again in the second round, given that I survived by then.

Anyway, my soul was strong and I could connect with one strong person or have four to six weak souls.

Time was running out, the indication of which were the dimming stars.

I looked around and tried to find someone good. I could have a glimpse of the person in my mind once I stared at a particular star, but if I stared at too many, I'd die.

Also, if I stared at someone powerful, I'd die as well.

There were too many ways to die here. It was an emo's paradise.

I looked at the intensity of the stars without having a glimpse at them. There was a star blinking constantly to grab my attention and once I had a look at it, it glowed really brightly.

I squinted my eyes, then averted my gaze.

The star began blinking again, this time more intensely.

I looked back at it, it shined even more brightly than before.

I squinted my eyes, then averted my gaze once again.

The star, as if angry, began shining very brightly and I heard from the system:

[The otherworldly deity 'One Kick' kicks the table in annoyance.]

Oh damn, it's this guy? I didn't think I would be able to grab the attention of such a big shot.

He was someone really strong. Definitely not as much as the Heavenly Emperor strong, but very very strong still.

If I contracted him, I'd get tons of martial techniques and would never have a problem regarding those.

But well, I didn't need it. The reason being,

"One Kick, calm down, don't waste your providence."

The brightly shining star dimmed down, however, saying this, I caught the attention of many, and was now being stared at by them.

I didn't care. They couldn't do anything about me anyway. If they tried to, the Administrator was there to protect me. If she couldn't do that, then obviously, the Heavenly Emperor was bound to intervene.

People knew of this world and they knew how to stay within their limits. I was safe, no matter what shit I said.

I looked at the star and continued, "I know a person who's good enough for you. A banana lover that likes strength very much and purses the Martial Peak. That person will awaken in about a year, I think. Contract with him, he's better than me."

[The otherworldly deity 'One Kick' is scratching his chest.]

The guy was listening.

"I do like Martial Arts, but it'll be a waste since I do not pursue this path. My path is… well… let's just say I want things to be a bit peaceful."

[The otherworldly deity 'Seeker of Chaos' spits.]

[The otherworldly deity 'Lover of the Tranquil Moon' sends you a flying kiss.]

[The otherworldly deity 'Harbringer of Calamity' has brought a small calamity in his world.]

[The otherworldly deity 'Forbidden Fruit Fanatic' is interested in you.]

I incited yet another flurry of messages. I had no idea who they were, I just knew that I should stay away from the guy called Forbidden Fruit Fanatic because forbidden fruit wasn't good, if it isn't related to you.

These deities that were sending messages, it was only possible to listen to them because I had the highest authority.

If I didn't have the authority, I wouldn't have the system, and I wouldn't be able to listen to them.

The other people were thus at a great disadvantage as they couldn't listen to what the stars were saying.

Anyway, I wasn't interested in any of these guys. My interest lay in a specific star whose placement I didn't know.

I simply called out instead, "Ruler of the Six Paths, are you interested in making a contract?"

All the stars dimmed for a second, as if they were stupefied by what they heard.

Eventually they all began blinking as if wanting to mock me, and eventually, I also heard a flurry of messages with hate as well as mocking speeches.

I ignored them and stayed calm.

I looked around and, not being able to find the star I wanted, said, "Ruler of the Six Paths, I understand your pain, your loneliness, your suffering. I understand what you've been through because… I am the same."

The mocking stars dimmed upon hearing this.

However, there was one star that began glowing a bit and I immediately locked my gaze at it.

I put my hand out, as if wanting to have someone hold it, and continued, "Ruler of the Six Paths… It has been hard on you. It has always been hard on you. I cannot ease your suffering, for you are destined to live with it. However…"

The star dimmed a bit, as if appearing a bit sad.

"…I can at least share the burden with you, provide you a shoulder to cry on, make you laugh with my ass jokes, and even give you the happiness you so very much deserve."

The star slowly shined brightly, as if everything was too good to be true.

I walked close to the star and turned my hand around, changing it into a position as if I want to hold someone's hand.

"Ruler of the Six Paths… let us both not walk on this tragic path alone anymore. Let us both embrace it together. See through the end together. Be happy together, and learn together about what lies beyond the tragedies we have suffered."

That was the last of my words and my true, heartfelt words. They weren't the words of a horny teenager or a miser teenager, but the words of a wise thousand year old fart to another long living old fart who's an ultra pro miser just like me.

After my speech was over, the stars around me began blinking intensely and I got flooded with messages of deities laughing at me.

Some of the deities weren't laughing though, instead, they were concerned.

Concerned about me because the thing I was asking for, it could lead me to my own doom. One of these concerned people was One Kick. He was a nice guy.

After a while, I heard a message:

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' is asking you to not be foolish.]

Oh, this person spent quite some providence to convey a bit of a direct message.

"I am not trying to be foolish, I am well aware of what I said."

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' is saying you're too stupid.]

"Yes, I maybe. But don't I seem nice even with my stupidity?"

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' scoffs.]

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' has kicked a moronic soul.]

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' hates you for bringing out their trauma.]

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' is letting out a killing intent.]

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' is saying you can only die by their hands.]

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' is warning others to not touch you, because you can only die by their hands.]

Damn… calm down. Why spend so much providence on such unnecessary things?

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' has sent you a contract.]

[Do you wish to accept? Y/N]

Ah… so it was like this. I didn't know this was a tsundere I was dealing with. Cute.

I immediately replied with Yes and a big contract appeared. I went through it and after some negotiations and modifications, I finished signing it and lost consciousness.

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' has the corner of their lips slightly curved up.]

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' says they'll watch your career with great interest.]

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' thinks you're a moron.]

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' wonders why you're not replying.]

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' is annoyed at you for not replying.]

[Many souls have died due to the anger of the otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths'.]

[The otherworldly deity 'Ruler of Six Paths' has pledged to whoop your ***.]
