7 Denial to Acceptance

[July 27, New Orleans]

In the bustling streets of New Orleans and old man in a black suit and tie with a cane with a gold handle this man is Kent Nelson or his other persona the lord of order Doctor Fate were he was walking into a shop of a women fortune teller to see what she is made of.

Zana:"Ah welcome to my shop I see that you are here to speak to someone maybe someone like oh your wife perhaps."

Kent:"Yes my Inza."

Zana:"Well then let Madam Zana will make contact if you would be kind."

After she got Kent to get out the money for Zana's ritual for Kent to make contact with Inza the ritual begins with Kent looking unamused to her little parlor trick which he points out all of her lousy tricks and invites her to actually learn real magic all to be interrupted by a brown skinned man who is known as Flash's rouges galley Arba Kadabra which he was not alone which made Kent even more wary of who he saw next which was the lord of chaos Klarion.

[August 19, Mount Justice]

Late in the after noon the team and I were in the training room sparing with me and Aqualad going against each other with the computer system counting down our spar 'sparring commencing in 3....2....1....ding.'

Once our spar started I came in rushing with a hard right and left combo which Aqualad dodges with him counterattacking me with with a kick to the body that I moved out of the way of with me and Aqualad going back and forth for a time period when Superboy, Miss Martian, Artemis, and Kid Flash were all on the sidelines watching us fight.

Artemis:"Well Conner is nice right handsome a little hot tempered you should totally ask him out."

M'gann:"Wait really I though you would want Conner."

Artemis:"Maybe in another life I would but let's just say that someone has gotten my attention."

M'gann instantly looking over at mine and Aqualad's spar went back to Artemis and quietly said to her while Conner and Wally were intensely looking at our spar.

M'gann:"So wait you and Tyler are together!"

Artemis:"Yes and it is very new and we want to keep it quiet for right now especially from Kid Flash please."

After Artemis said that M'gann instantly shut up and looked back at our spar to see Aqualad on the ground defeated with me telling Kaldur "Hey well you almost got me you are getting better Kaldur with enough time and training you may even take me down one day", he smiled at me and said "Yes my friend one day."

Once our spar was over Red tornado came down and the talk that he had with the team about Robin being with Batman and Kent's disappearance went how it did on the show with all of us heading to the bioship when Conner and Aqualad pulled me to the side to say "Well congrats on you and Artemis huh Cap", when I heard them say that and walk off I just said to them how and they said back with Conner going first then Aqualad "I could hear both M'gann and Artemis talk about it", "I could see it before you even got together my friend", after that I just walked into the ship with the two in tow hoping Wally doesn't find out.

When all of us were in the bioship Red tornado gave us the coordinates of where to find Kent at in Salem where the tower of fate is located at but when we got there there was no tower obviously clocked by magic which Wally claims that he is all for magic just trying to impress M'gann.

Once we touched down on the ground I had Wally scout out the area like he did in the show while everyone else looks as well once Wally got back from scouting he says to me "Nothing no tower for miles Cap", the I ask him "Well what do you think adaptive micro electronics combined with phase shifting maybe", which Wally was about to say yes until M'gann came by and he instantly says "Of course not it has to be magic of course", after that I just rolled my eyes and took the key out that Aqualad had given me on the ship and said to Wally "Yeah you are sure the wise guy when it comes to things like magic instead of science Wally."

After what I said I stuck the key in the key hole of the invisible tower and unlocked it which brought the whole tower in front of us I looked back at Wally and Artemis, Kaldur, and Conner looked at him too and he just says "See Cap told you", which all of us rolled our eyes and walked inside and knowing what was gonna happen with Wally I was prepare to save us so when the hologram of Kent went up I was about to speak but Wally was quicker when he said "We are true believers of magic and are looking for Doctor fate", which at that moment I facepalmed with the others looking at me confused when Kent's hologram went off and I said to Wally "Dude I am so gonna kill you", and Wally was about to say something before the floor opened up to a pit of lava underneath ready to burn us alive.

When we fell down toward the lava I taped on my watch to deploy my shield for me to stop my fall in turn I grabbed Artemis while she pulled out a grappling hook to catch Kaldur while Conner stooped his own fall and M'gann caught Wally while she was levitating above the lava but she was going down fast because of the heat same as Kaldur they both couldn't hang on for long.

"Wally I swear you are the biggest idiot" I said with Wally saying to me "Look it is so not my fault", all except M'gann looked at him with distain after what he said until I said to the tower "Look Wally doesn't speak for all of us we are here to see if Kent Nelson is alright so can you stop the lava show please", I smiled once I ended my sentence when Artemis looked at me with a 'you really just said please when we are about to die' I just shrugged and said "Hey worth a shoot sweetheart."

After what I said the floor of lava closed up letting all of us drop down to the solid floor and before I could say anything Artemis went over to Wally and pushed him off M'gann and said "That's enough your impress M'gann at all cost plan nearly got all of us barbecued", which Wally responds back saying "How is this my fault", and with missing a beat Artemis says "You saying that you are a believer in the mystic arts", after that the talk with Wally not being a believer in magic went as the show.

Until I cut in saying "Look Wally if you smart as you say you are open your mind to the use of magic and that is coming from a 17 year old guy that was frozen during the WW2 era and came out learning the knowledge of this time and even made and A.I. for myself with the added benefit of learning the concept of magic."

After I said my peace Wally still denied my logic which I just ignored him and just told him to watch for himself opening up the passage way to a frozen dimenstion after that I jumped in with the rest of the team following suit when I look back at Wally which he just spouted out saying that it was science and not magic at all.

After a few minutes of walking in the frozen dimenstion we spotted a cane which Wally and Artemis touched it and then warped out of existence like they did on the show to Kent Nelson's side once it was just me, Conner, Kaldur, and M'gann they looked at me to see what we are gonna do next which I said "Welp lets keep walking till we see some sort of magic door", which prompted M'gann to say "Really are you sure", then Aqualad spoke up saying "Yeah do you really just want to walk until something happens my friend", then I tell the two "It is better then standing around doing nothing", which Conner just says "He has a point there."

After that we head off after a few minutes a portal opened up underneath us which I quickly act and land on my feet on the solid ground instead of on my face like Conner and Kaldur while M'gann floated in the air.

Once we came out of the portal Artemis immediately jumped and hugged me which brought the attention to Wally saying "Hey Cap what's going on between you and Artemis over here huh", before I could tell him a lie we were interrupted by Klarion and Arba with them attacking us with Kent bringing Wally to to the top of the tower to get the helmet with Klarion following suit while the rest of us fight off Abra.

Once we were alone with Abra I gave out orders to the team with Conner, Artemis, and me distract Abra while our magic experts Kaldur and M'gann hit him with everything they got.

After my orders were given the distraction team sprang into action with Conner heading straight for Abra and me and Artemis coming from the sides which Abra used his magic to fend us off with him using everything at his disposal taking out Conner and Artemis with electrocution magic and did the same with with Kaldur and M'gann when she was trying to contact Wally through the mental link which meant I was the only one standing against Abra.

"So what Abra you saved me for last why is that huh", after I said that he said "Well I just wanted to give you a message before I take you down Captain", I say to him "What is the message then huh", which he responds saying "Well Klarion and the light itself want you back in your pod like a good little war hero okay frozen man", after that nothing happened which Abra got worried after that and was speaking to himself of why it didn't work when I enlighted him saying "Well that won't work on me got that programming taken out of me some months ago so night night Abra", once I said that I threw my shield hard at Abra knocking hime clean out giving us the victory.

After the Abra and Klarion fight all of us mourned Kent's death and took the fate helmet back to the cave and giving Abra to the authorities to take him to jail.

Once we got to the cave everything happened like the show but not the Artemis and Wally moment in the souvenir room instead me and Artemis went out to the beach for a talk that was long overdue.

Tyler:"So I take it that you want us to talk about our relationship going forward huh."

Artemis:"Yes it is I want to know even when we haven't been together that long where do you see this going I need to know."

after hearing that I step close to her and hold her hand and said to her.

Tyler:"Well I thought that it was simple I want to be with you say I was interested in a blonde ponytailed hero in Gothem city and only you."

Artemis:"Are you being serious I mean it okay Tyler."

Tyler:"Yes I am serious and to prove that."

I then lifted her head to capture her lips in a deep kiss the she reciprocated going deeper into the kiss while the moon was in the background of us.
