healing

Damon came in with some chamomile tea. He knows that something relaxing will do for now. I thanked him and he decided to give me company. Well, it might help because he kind of knows what to say at the right times... he's known me since forever... we've been friends and brothers... literally brothers.

When you've known someone for too long, you somehow become family.

Along some lines of it will be okay and she seems strong and she's immortal and can't die, that my presence here is making changes though I can't see, the machine beeped causing my vampire speed to automatically find the doctor and pull him in here. I didn't give him time to gaze around as I captured his mind by one of my wizard spells.

He checked everything fast and told me she was now breathing... that in five minutes she'll be able to regain consciousness... so I loosened the spell and he looked around confused... I didn't ask him to leave in case there were any procedures to do when she woke up.

After five silent minutes, I saw her take a deep full breath. I smiled and turned to the doctor. He immediately went to the machine and pressed some  buttons then connected a wire. He added some liquid to a syringe which smelled like neem leaves... he injected her, then attached a drip to her upper arm.

After some minutes he removed the oxygen mask and breathing supporters and told us she could breath on her own now. After 15 minutes she'd probably be able to hear or to open her eyes. I thanked the doctor and asked him to leave.

When we were alone I decided to do whatever I could ASAP. I took a chance in one of her short breaths and travelled with it till somewhere back there in her time.

I couldn't even see where and what happened exactly... it seems like the place is protected from magic. That is a spell and I'll break it as soon as I get close there.

But I could still move the time back. She was making rapid breaths and I could hear some screams in my mind. I kept my very much needed calm and kept travelling back till it was quiet.

I opened my eyes and I could see that her bandages had shrank. But... I took time further behind till I could feel her heartbeats calmer. I noticed it was before she left me at that pond.

I looked at her face and her eyelids were shaking... at least I have somewhere to start when I see it's the right time to ask her about it. I released the travel and now she was kind of better. Seems like she wasn't very healthy even at that time because some places had unhealed scars.

She'll have to forgive me because I'll contact her father somehow and I will kill this excuse they call family. I don't care if she'll get mad but I'll do it. Warnings don't work some times because some people never learn, so I won't bother warning anyone.

Her eyes finally opened but she scrunched them shut trying to adjust to the hospital lights... I'll remind them to adjust their lights because they hurt the patients' eyes. She opened them again slowly then her expression went to confused. Obviously she couldn't identify this place or remember the last event... I smiled at her cuteness... she's amazing.

She turned slowly and noticed me sitting there and Damon at the other side of the room. Damon bowed to her with a small smile and went out.

She turned to me... the confused expression dissolved and a small smile appeared in its place. That caused me to grin like a mad man. My hand went to grip her free hand and I took it to my lips kissing it like my life depended on it.

I hugged it and I was not going to release it. She could just escape right now... she looked at her hand at my chest and shook her head.

But that happy expression disappeared as soon as it came when she looked at the windows and I cursed myself internally for not distracting her enough.

It was now dark and she started panicking causing the machines to start beeping... fuck whoever scares my mate. I'd release my wolf to go rip her family apart but their place is silver-banned. I'll have to wait.

But she's panicking... my free hand went to stroke smooth lines along her hair as the other one draw big circles on the smooth skin of her hand... it might have worked because she relaxed a bit and the machines stopped beeping rapidly.

"It's okay baby... no one's going to touch you anymore... please relax and this will be over soon." She seemed to be registering my words and she let put a breath I didn't know she was holding. She nodded and I kissed her hand again.

I moved closer and kissed her forehead. "Don't think about anything now... you have to heal. After an hour your wolf will renew and you'll heal faster. Stay calm until then, okay honey?" She bit the inside of her lips and nodded.

"You hungry? Anything you'd like to eat baby? A drink? Say anything and I'll get it for you." She shook her head. "Don't leave. Don't go anywhere and stay with me... please." I looked in her eyes and smiled... she is perfect.

"Okay... then, I'll send Damon so just say something you need.'' "Water please." I nodded and mindlinked Damon to bring four bottles of water and it didn't take a minute before he was back with them. Giving him a grateful smile I opened one bottle and gave it to her.

In a swift motion she gulped it all down. I opened another one and she did the same. I remembered the doctor saying her system showed that nothing was eaten for at least three days. However when I asked her she said she didn't need anything else.

I wonder how she survives when hungry provided that she's got vampire genes. And vamps are hungry like 70% of the time. I won't push her right now anyway so I just talked to her about everything else.

"I'm sorry... you wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my irrationality. You don't have to forgive me... I'm just so sorry and I want you to know that."

She shook her head. "I should be apologising and thanking you instead... I don't think I'd be able to finish the day and it could be worse especially if you wouldn't be close. And... I'm sorry I didn't say anything earlier. I just..."

I pressed her arm softly. "Shhhhh... don't talk anymore sweetheart and forgive me. I wasn't attentive enough and I pulled you too hard at the gate. It's still I who caused you this much damage... and I destroyed your work which you hid very well... I don't know much about you so... yeah. I really am sorry."

She looked at me guiltily... "don't blame yourself please. I feel so bad for lying to you already. I promise I'll tell you everything when I'm out of this place." I nodded. "So you forgive me?" She smiled and nodded.

"An early apology too... you'll have to forgive me because I'm planning to kill whoever was involved in doing this to you. I'm killing them immediately after we get out of this building. And I won't be able to let you out of my sight so... we might have to agree on some things. And yes, I'll contact your father."

Her eyes went wide a little bit... "please... don't say anything to my father. Do anything but don't contact my dad. I don't really want to worry him. I'm too old for that you know."

I shook my head. "He brought you to this world, he introduced you to this family, he's responsible for everything that's happening to you. He should know that he's been very careless and that I'm going to end this family and that you'll be staying with your mate. He needs to know each and everything Skylar... you know that too." Taking a deep breath she absorbed my words and stayed silent. "Don't overthink things... everything will be okay." She nods and stays silent.

"His visit will be due in two weeks. You can wait till then." I thought for a second... "Okay. But I'm killing those animals before that." She knew not to argue and she gave a quiet "okay."

The next morning she was fully healed and her wolf was on the surface. All the scars were gone... seems like her wolf wasn't usually free for long so even her scars couldn't heal before. She needed two weeks to rest anyway so that her and her wolf could recharge.

If I should tell you, vampires are totally useless when it comes to healing. Witches on the other hand... they can really heal others, but no self-healing occurs to them. Well demons only harm... they don't heal or leave anyone safe. So we obviously depend on our wolves the most in such a situation.
