31 Chapter 31: I think I am in Love. . .

The bell rang, calling an end to the school day. Yuna beamed with pride as she guided the kids out of the classroom toward the gates. She felt ecstatic. The children had enjoyed the story game. She smiled while waving at their optimistic goodbyes. Dread soon filled her heart when she saw a black car pull up.

Hoseok, from Jin's company, was picking her up. She felt nervous about the follow-up interview. Her gaze followed Suri as she waited for the bus. She seemed a lot happier than she had last week.

She walked to the gates enveloped in her thoughts. Her mind was still lingering on the kiss with Jin. She was still angry, but that was show business, right? Out of anger, she wanted to tear up all of the posters and photos that she had of him. He brought a side out of her that she never imagined she had.

"Yuna?"

A soft voice broke through her train of thought, and she looked up to find a tall man smiling before her. He wore blue jeans, a purple-buttoned shirt and white All-Stars. She blinked at him with her mouth slightly agape.

"Yes?"

"It is me Hoseok," he replied cheerfully, "we should get going or we might be late."

"Ye-yes, of course," she said and followed him to his car.

Nerves are settling in the pit of her stomach. She wondered if she should message Jungkook but decided against it. Hoseok opened the car door for her and climbed into the driver's seat.

"Are you nervous?" he asked as he buckled up.

Yuna stared at her hands while rolling her lips between her teeth. Yes. Yes, it was nerves. She was afraid to stand in front of Jin again. He had pushed the boundaries last time and she had lost her cool with him. She could still feel his skin on her fingertips.

"Yes," she answered, "I am a bit nervous."

"Don't be," he replied and started the car. "Everything will work out."

It was an awkward drive to the studio. Yuna kept staring at her hands and didn't notice when the car stopped until Hoseok held the car door open for her. He motioned for her to get out. Her legs trembled when she stepped out of the car, jumping a little as the car door slammed shut.

"Are you sure you are all right?" he asked and she replied with a quick nod.

They made their way up the stairs but the door flew open, almost knocking Hoseok off his feet. A girl came running past them. She was crying, but she kept her eyes firmly on the ground, taking the steps two at a time.

"Not again," Hoseok whispered.

Yuna wondered why the girl was so upset. Did Jin do this? He would have another thing coming if he tried that on her.

"Shall we?" Hoseok said and held the door open.

She nodded and stepped through. Her breath caught in her throat as she took in everything for a second time. The first time had been a rush and she didn't have the pleasure to admire the beauty in the lobby.

A small reception desk stood in the middle, the walls were covered in framed posters of the previous movies the company made. The windows weren't covered with any drapes while the sun just lit up the place.

"Breathtaking, isn't it?"

"Yes," she replied, turning to face Hoseok. "I didn't have the chance to see it the first time."

He chuckled, motioning her to follow him to the elevators. After pressing the button, they entered, and when the doors closed, her heart caught in her throat. Will he be a jerk again? she wondered silently as the elevator made its way up slowly. I am going to lose my heart again, aren't I?

*****

Jin grinned like a Cheshire cat. He had sent the second girl crying from the room. Yes, it had not nice, but they made up their minds to go with this Yuna girl. He had this inner turmoil, struggling to get his thoughts in order. He renounced all women but. . .she somehow crept into the darkest corners of his heart.

On the other hand, his ex-fiancé, Minyu, had turned up at his doorstep, begging for his forgiveness. He was still thinking about it. He could hear Namjoon's voice in his head, What is there to think about?

He chuckled to himself. He glanced down at his wristwatch. She should arrive soon. Tae and Suga were mumbling in the corner. He caught them staring at him and a soft sigh escaped his lips, They are talking about me. . .again.

He did not care. This was still his business and they might have a say when it came to the production of the movies. He would not make this easy on them or her - "Why are you talking about me?"

- he glared at them. He wanted them to know that he knew and they would not be able to hide anything from him. Tae didn't look fazed. Suga opened his mouth and closed it a few times when he wanted to reply, the door opened.

Jin turned quickly towards the door as Hoseok stepped through smiling like a cat with a saucer of milk. His eyes caught the movement behind Hoseok. The girl stepped through with her gaze to the ground.

Why isn't she looking up? He thought, taking a step towards them but Tae grabbed his arm. He felt his anger rising and he turned around, gritting his teeth. With a snarl, he said, "Let go of me."

"Do not do this," whispered Tae.

"What do you mean by that?" asked Jin and removed his arm from Tae's grip.

"You are going to force her to leave -"

"- I am not going to do that. . ." replied Jin defeated.

His words seemed to calm Tae down. He couldn't believe that they - his behaviour towards the other girls was not gentlemanly enough. He bowed his head in shame and added, "I will not force her -"

"- Hello everyone!"

Hoseok interrupted with a wide grin. Jin turned his head slightly, Yuna caught his eye and she lowered her head to the ground again. He found her gesture quite amusing. He wondered if she felt bad for slapping him two days ago.

"Are we ready?"

Jin turned his attention to Hoseok and motioned to Tae. "You will have to ask him."

"We are ready," replied Tae and walked towards Suga, who was standing with a clipboard in his hand. Tae took the clipboard and licked his lips. "We will be doing a quick run-through of scene fifteen."

Jin's eyes narrowed, creating an inkling of a frown between his eyes. So, they kept the movie's true script from him. This interview was going to be the true deciding moment. Was this girl going to save his company or was she going to send it to ruin? He licked his lips slowly.

Tae handed them both a page. He scanned it. There was nothing major about the scene. It looked like heartache. He looked up to see her reaction but she stood rooted to the spot. Before he could do anything, Tae spoke.

"Yuna, please stand over here and Jin. . .stay where you are."

They did not trust him to behave. He rolled his eyes but kept his gaze on Yuna. She walked slowly to where tae was pointing. He noticed, for the first time that she was wearing jeans, slacks and an oversized t-shirt. Her hair was drawn back into a messy bun.

She turned to face him. He smirked slightly while his gaze fell to her lips. He wanted to kiss them again, to feel the softness against his own. He wanted to caress her cheek and -"

"Yuna would you please start from the top?"

Jin cursed under his breath when Tae's voice broke his train of thought. He didn't want to start at the top of the scene. He wanted to start in the middle part in which 'his character' holds her cheek and says, "You got the wrong idea! Please, let me explain. . ." Her character refuses and just leaves without saying a word.

He just wanted to be near her. He wanted to smell her hair which reminded him of strawberry ice cream. He blinked when he released what he was thinking about. He let out a soft chuckle. This was not good. Not good at all.

*****

Why is he smirking like that? thought Yuna as she shifted her gaze to the script. Was he planning to do what he did, two days prior? She scanned the scene hurriedly, they wanted her to start from the top but there wasn't - it was only a description of the mood and where it was taking place.

I have to change my mindset, she chided herself and took a deep breath. This was just acting after all. When she looked up from the script her heart melted. His eyes had a soft expression and he wiped the bottom of his lips slowly with his thumb.

"Miss Jung?"

"Ye-yes," she stammered and took a breath.

Get your mind focused on the scene, she thought and said, "Seok, what is going on here?"

Jin smiled. So she is going for the pained route. He straightened and closed the short distance between them. He reached to cup her cheek and - "It is not what it looks like, Aera. Please let me explain."

"What is there to explain?" she asked as she took a step back, avoiding his hold on her cheek.

"I promise," replied Jin in a soft voice, "That it is not what it seems."

"I do not believe you! Nanyuki is always at your side. She never -"

Clever, Jin thought. They incorporated Minyu into the script. He would have to deal with them later. He watched Yuna, her expression was pained and tears were forming in her eyes. She was living herself into the scene and he would have to meet her performance.

He grabbed her wrist, pulled her closer and whispered, "Nanyuki is not you. She could never be you or replace you."

Yuna pushed herself away from him. Tears were streaming down her face. "I do not believe you."

They were playing their parts perfectly. Yuna wanted to go a bit and beyond but before she could take a step backwards, Jin grabbed her again. "I have done everything to show you that I love you. Why can't you accept that nothing -"

"- Are you telling me that I am blind? I can see that she is close to you," Yuna interrupted and broke free of his grasp. "This is goodbye Seok."

Yuna turned from him and was halfway to the door when Jin stepped into her path. He grabbed her shoulders, she looked up at him in shock.

"This is not goodbye," he whispered and leaned in, kissing her lips softly. Her lips were like he remembered, soft, full and he wanted to taste her badly.

With his tongue, he parted her lips to gain entry. He was surprised that she had let him. Their tongues meet slowly, his right hand moved to the nape of her neck and his other to her lower back, pulling her closer to him. Their kiss heated up and h felt her hands gripping his shirt against his chest.

She wanted this, he realised. Yet. . . he wanted it too. I think that - I am in love with this girl.

What am I doing? Yuna thought, I promised myself that I will not let this again! I am such an idiot! She gripped his shirt harder, pulling him closer. She felt it in the way he was kissing her. . .he was not acting.

Whistling broke out around them. "You two can stop now."

They let go of each other so quickly as if electricity surged through them both. Yuna's cheeks were flushed and Jin was slightly out of breath. They forgot they had an audience. Jin took her hand and squeezed her fingertips gently.

"Does she pass the interview Jin?" Tae asked with a smirk. Hoseok and Suga were standing on either side of him.

Yuna gulped as she took a quick glance at Jin. Their eyes met and he smiled. "She passed."

Tae, Suga and Hoseok's cheers almost separated the roof from the building. Yuna's blush deepened as she turned away, but Jin caught her chin.

"Why are you hiding?"

She couldn't form any words. Her mind was running all over the place. She couldn't get a clear reading of him and she was afraid that if she steps into this role, she might lose her heart. . .no, she already lost her heart.
