Chapter 19: Namjoon's plan is working

Nimue heard the door open and he stepped back into the kitchen. He had someone he could use as a fall guy now. He grinned to himself. 'This is perfect. Sooner or later...'

Namjoon's head snapped to the office door and let go of the breath he was holding. "Yuna, is it?"

Yuna closed the door and eyed him. He was happy to see that she was not glaring anymore. "Yes. My name is Yuna and my brother tells me that you will be working here."

Namjoon nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, I cannot wait to learn from you."

Yuna closed the distance between them and folded her arms. But Namjoon, kept smiling at her and then raised his hand, "Let us start over. Hello, my name is Namjoon Kim and you are?"

Yuna reluctantly unfolded her arms and slowly reached for his hand. "My name is Yuna Jung. It is a pleasure to meet you."

Namjoon's hand gripped hers first before she decided that she did not trust him. "Like wise. Are you permanently employed here?"

Yuna cut the handshake sort and retracted her hand quickly. Her eyes narrowed in suspicion. She tried to relax but she was afraid to share anything personal with anyone, especially if it was the first time they were meeting.

"I work here part time," she replied softly.

"Are you the owner's sister?" Namjoon asked and cocked his head slightly to the right and smiled.

Yuna was unsure what to make of him. She still did not believe that he was here as a worker. She did not sense any hostility from him but what if... Her best friend in high school had always been there too.

And her friend betrayed her. She was supposed to help her get to this one audition that would have gotten her into the best Drama college so that she could pursue her dreams. Instead, her friend ratted her out to her parents after they paid her to do it.

Should she open up to him? No... He was Seokjin's friend and- She cannot trust him yet. "You can say that I am."

"What do you do for a living?"

Yuna stiffened. This was to much... to much personal/getting to know one another business. "I am sorry. I do not have time for this. I am looking for a girl who should be here for an interview."

"There is no one here but us," Namjoon answered innocently.

Yuna was taken a back by his tone. It was if he was trying to hide the fact of a lie. She folded her arms slightly and- "Nimue? Has it been only you two?"

"Yes, Yuna. There hasn't been someone else since you have come with the boss." His answered from the kitchen.

Yuna bit her lip and turned to go back to the office when something grabbed her. She turned to see that Namjoon was holding her hand. "Is something wrong?"

She shook him off. He was being suspicious with all of these questions. "Everything is fine. It is just strange that she did not pitch."

Before Namjoon could reply, Yuna went back into the office. He took a deep breath when Nimue said something from the kitchen. "Like, I said. You are playing with fire."

Namjoon did not care that he was playing with fire. He was going to work his charm and not even Yuna would be able to resist. He would have her eat out of the palm of his hand, the only thing left to do was to make sure that Jungkook employs him full time.

It was wrong to start this on a lie but he would love to get this restaurant out of this corner and on the big side of town. "Do not worry, Nimue. I will not get burned."

"Kookie, I am sorry but it seems the girl did not pitch." Yuna said as she closed the office door.

"That is strange," Jungkook replied and his fingers rested on his chin. "She sounded desperate for a job."

Yuna walked forward and sat down in the chair, which stood before Jungkook's desk. "Nimue, confirmed Namjoon's story."

"You do not believe them?"

"Kookie... You know how hard it is for me trust after the debacle with Anui." She replied softly.

Jungkook's eyes darkened. He remembered that day well. Anui, who had been Yuna's friend since they were children, betrayed her to their parents when she needed to go for an audition.

Yuna never recovered from that betrayal. She stopped going out, she retracted from any social gatherings and became a hermit. The only way he could save his sister was by sneaking her out and to go watch some plays or take her to small play auditions.

His friends stopped inviting him to parties because he always asked if his sister could come then they would tense up and he would leave the subject and never go. Come to think of it...

His life has always been around Yuna. He was always protecting her from everything as much as it would pain him, he would have to let her stand on her own to feet. After she got the job at the movie company of course.

"I know," he replied softly. "But I do think you can trust Namjoon."

Yuna averted her gaze. It was written all over his face. 'I will not be there for ever. You will need to stand on your own to feet.' She stood up suddenly and his eyes widened. "Una?"

"I am sorry, Kookie. I should go."

"No." He said harshly and stood up from his office chair. "You promised that you will help me."

She let out a soft sigh. "Kookie, I can see it written all over your face."

Jungkook licked his lips slowly. He hated when that happens, all of his emotions are playing tennis over his face. "Yuna, we can talk about this later."

There it was. Not her silly nick name that she hated but her given name, this meant one long discussion was going to happen. "I'll stay."

Jungkook smiled and stepped around his table taking her in his arms, and kissed the top of her head softly. "If no one pitches, will you be able to give Namjoon training?"

"Are you considering him?" She asked in surprise.

"If no one pitches and it seems that he wants to help, so-"

"Are you sure this is not a scheme?" She interrupted, "I cannot help to think that this is some sort of plan to get me to go."

Jungkook bit his lip. Yes, this was a plan to get her to go but he was the one who would be taking her. Namjoon was here to get to know her and keep an eye on his friend so that said friend did not intervene.

"Do not think everything revolves around you, Yuna."

His eyes widened as the words left his lips. He did not mean for it to come out the way it did. He wanted to ease it off little by little until she would be able to stand on her own two feet.

Yuna stood up from the chair, which knocked him backwards against his desk. Her expression went blank, she turned her back on Jungkook and walked to the door. Her hand hovered on the handle and she turned her head slightly. "I will train Namjoon until the end of the week."

Before Jungkook could tell her to stop, she opened the door and slammed it shut.
