Chapter 1

"Good morning Mom and Dad!" I saw them chitchatting something in front of the table.

"Hey sweetie, come and join us." They both flash their smile.

"Is there something wrong?" I asked because I saw how serious their faces a while ago.

"Nothing, let's eat."

I'm really curious about it, but it looks like that they don't want to speak out.

"Anyway, Mom am I allowed to join our field trip in school?" with a wide smile and excitement.

"Where?" It's my Dad with his serious tone.

"Jaime, you're overprotective again." Mom holds the hand of Dad.

"It's fine Mom, I understand. I'll just tell my teacher that I can't come."

A loud silence is all over the dinning area. After eating, I quickly grab my school bag and leave them without saying goodbye, although I usually do it.

My father is too protective ALWAYS. Even when I'll explain why I need to be there, he won't let me.

Sometimes, I wish I could have another parents who support things that makes me happy.

"Good morning class! I just want to remind everyone about the upcoming field trip in Palawan."

Everyone starts talking to each other about what should they bring, what should they'll do when they get there etc. Here I am, covering my face down to my desk because I remember our talk a while ago in the house.

"Class be quiet. I will call you in alphabetical order so that I can confirm the final list of the students who will come."

I dozed up and didn't mind everything. Not only that, but I know that in this class hour, we are going to talk about the field trip.

"You will not join Shiloa?" Kanela asked.

"As if my parents will allow me." I answered without energy.

"You know what? Your parents are too protective. You don't even know the word socialization already." Micah seconded.

"Yeah, they are too much, and I am thinking about leaving that house since I don't feel like I'm home."

"If you want a place to sleep on, feel free to come on our house because you are always welcome." Kanela suggested.

"Na, it's fine."

They know that I don't want to talk about my family because of my situation.

We're on our way to cafeteria. But...

"Look who's here."

"What do you want? Can you just please stop?!" Kanela and Micah said in unison.

These are the people who keep irritating me, and they are getting into my nerves, but I will not fight back. I'm not in the mood.

"Why she didn't put her name in the list of students who are going to join the field trip?"

Is it big deal?

"Why do you care?" Micah talked back.

"Well, she's pretending to be rich like us, but she's not."

"And so? Are you the one who owns the school?"

"No."

"Then mind your own business miss!"

We continue walking. They are always like that, the three spice girl. We ordered food then chose to eat in peace. I remain silent and it's fine with them.

"Miss, the Dean is looking for you." a man in black approach our table.

I stand up without telling something even I heard them talking and thinking what I've done wrong with fears on their eyes. Every student is scared of him.

I just walked normal and didn't mind the students who are talking around since the men in black is in front of me.

We are now in front of the dean's office. I let him enter first.

"Dean she's here."

I saw him sitting on his chair and feet on the table.

"What do you want?" I said without any greetings.

"I heard from your teacher that you are not going to join the field trip."

"And so?"

"Why are you like that? You don't even respect me."

"I didn't join because I don't want to. Satisfied with my answer?"

"Cut that shit of yours Shiloa!"

"Is that the reason why I am here?"

"You must join!"

"I don't want. I'll leave now."

Then I walked out. He keeps involving himself with my problem. You may ask what connection or relationship I have with him? You'll know soon.

When I arrived in the cafeteria, everyone is still looking at me, but I really don't mind them.

"Loa, what mistake have you done? Are you insane?" Kanela's introduction before I sit.

"Nothing."

"Then why the Dean summon you in the office?"

"Mind your own business."

"Again, Shiloa is on the beast mode."

They do not know what is my relationship with the Dean and even the reason why he keeps calling me to come in his office.

Another thing to remind you! I do not want others to involve themselves with my problems especially if I did not mention it to you.

"You should go back in the classroom, I just need to do something." I saw that within 5 minutes, the class will start again.

I know that there is no proper discussion within the day, they will just talk and talk about the field trip.

I am now directing my feet to my secret place. Air pods on and listen to the music.

I grabbed my guns on the cabinet and pointed to the target. Yas, I'm not on the legal age but already have my own collection of guns and samurai. Reason? You will know soon.

I let out my anger by using the gun. The room is soundproof so that I can do whatever I want.

"Your daughter is useless, there is no future waiting for her! And it is just a waste of money."

"She's also your daughter Jaime."

"No, she's not mine. She's from that scumbag!"

"Stop it and lower down your voice, she will hear you."

"I don't care, it's the truth though!"

I saw how they fight because of me. I heard everything. But I chose to keep my silence. I am just a 10 years old kid way back then but still clear in my memories.

I can see myself crying in the dark room hugging my pillow. Not only that, but I also saw how my mother got hit by my so-called "dad."

I never thought that it would be this so hard to comply with his standard. My grades are improving, and I want to show him that I am not useless or worthless.

I know you are now wondering why I did not choose to leave them and reside on my true father. You'll know soon.

Currently resting after letting out my anger without thinking all the things outside this room.

The moment I closed my eyes, I dreamed of something, and it looks like a flashback.

There is an old woman who is looking at the girl with an anger on her eyes. Sometimes, looking from top of her head to her feet like seeing a dirt on her house.

The young girl tried to catch the attention of her mother, but she accidentally bumps on the table where their food is and everything falls. Everyone got shocked, they only think of the food because it costs too much while the young girl is having a hard time to stand since the broken glass of plate wounded her hand.

Then I saw a young boy who got worried, so he went near the young girl and help her to stand.

The girl was amazed. For the very first time someone noticed her presence. She did not mind the broken glass on her hand and the pain because of the happiness she is feeling.
