Are you okay?

Opening the door Long Yi Chen entered to the apartment with a smile. Knowing that his baby girl is waiting inside the apartment made his heart soften and his expression became gentle. He expected to find her doing her homework in the living room. But what he saw made his smile to falter.

Without even changing his shoes he ran toward Wang Xin Yi.

"Are you okay love?" Long Yi Chen asked holding her face in his hands. Feeling the coldness of her skin he became more worried. Taking a closer look at her face, he noticed that his baby doll looks awfully pale.

"I.. I'm fine Ah Chen" Holding his hands she replied trying to look calm and not stutter. She can't be telling him that she was in the brink of fainting earlier. He would become worried and immediately admit her in the hospital if she tells him. And it will only end up in stressing him out and increasing his workload.

"But your face isn't telling me that you're not fine baby. Tell me what happened. Please baby." His voice sounded painful.

Taking a deep breathe she answered him with the best smile she could gather up right now.

"I'm fine. Perfectly fine. I just knocked my leg in the couch while standing up. It pained a little. That's why I look pale. I guess?" Her answered like questioning him.

That expression of her looked adorable.

"You sure that's it?" Long Yi Chen asked again to make sure while kneeling in front of her.

"Yeah." Wang Xin Yi smile while nodding her head like a little hamster.

Long Yi Chen checked her leg to see whether she injured her leg. Seeing no bump or red patch in her leg he let out a breath he had been holding all the while.

"Okay then. Be careful next time okay baby doll. Hmm?"

"Okay" Wang Xin Yi answered while hugging him and nuzzling her head against his chest.

Long Yi Chen hugged her back lovingly and patted her back. It only made her cuddle in more. Smelling his clone made her racing heartbeat slow down immediately.

They stayed like that for a few seconds before Wang Xin Yi pulled out suddenly.

"Oh my god. I forgot to check them out." She exclaimed facepalming herself.

"What did you forget baby?" Long Yi Chen become confused.

"The dishes…" Wang Xin Yi answered while running off to the kitchen.

Amused at her antics Long Yi Chen chuckled. Then went to change his shoes.

"Ah Chen dinner is ready. Come and wash your hands." She told him carrying the perfectly cooked vegetable porridge to the table. Then she carried on setting the table with the dishes.

After sitting down in the dinner table Long Yi Chen looked at Wang Xin Yi's troubled expression. "What happened baby girl? Why you look upset hmm?"

"Actually, I wanted make a good dinner to compensate for not having lunch with you as I promised yesterday. But we had ran out of groceries. By the time I realized it, I didn't have time left to buy some. So, I could only make some scrambled eggs, vegetable porridge, and stuffed cabbage. Sorry." Wang Xin Yi said while scrapping her fingers. That is habit of hers since childhood showed that she was nervous.

Seeing that Long Yi Chen stood out of his seat. He went near Wang Xin Yi who was seated exactly opposite side from him.

"It's okay baby girl. Those are more than enough. And I believe you had some emergency. If not, you wouldn't have cancelled our lunch out. I know that." He said hugging her back and nuzzling against her shoulders.

"Yeah. We had an additional lecture during the lunch time. It was unannounced lecture. I'm sorry." She apologized again.

"You didn't take your lunch?" Long Yi Chen asked turning her around to face him.

"Noo. I had some brunch though." Wang Xin Yi answered while biting her lips. She knew well that telling him about skipping meal, she would get a scolding from him.

"I'm pretty sure that we had an agreement about your meals, and you promised to have them properly." He gave her a look which made Wang Xin Yi lower her head in shame.

"Sorry. But I swore that I got some brunch after the lecture." She said earnestly raising her hand gesturing a promise.

Seeing her adorable face Long Yi Chen almost laughed out. He knew that his fussing made her nervous and a little afraid. But he needed that make sure that she had her meals properly to maintain her already frail health. Their staring contest was broken down by the sound of Wang Xin Yi's stomach screaming. Hearing that her cheeks became deep red, and she lowered her head in shame.

"Okay. We'll talk about this again later. First let's get some food inside that small stomach of yours." He said smiling.
