The day flew by after that and before long it was time to go home. I put the last of the work aside proud of the fact that it would only take me a few minutes to finish it off the next morning. Then got up to go let Reed know I was done for the day and heading out.

"Was there any other work you needed from me, Sir?" I asked as I walked into his office.

It'd become a habit of mine to make sure everything was alright before I left every day. However, today he barely looked up when I came in and I felt a moment of disappointment when I realized he was extremely busy. I was kind of hoping for a kiss or maybe more before I headed out for the day. I squared my shoulders and told myself that it was okay because there was always another day, especially if I went home and actually finished the contract.

"No," he muttered, his eyes barely leaving the paperwork he was working on.

"Thank you, Sir. I'll see you in the morning," I said and turned to leave.
