2 Just a Girl

The rain fell into her deep soul like tears of rivers that is begging to be used. Her parents shouts and screams engulfing the air and causing noise in the quiet forest.

Tears trickling down her beautiful face as she looked down admiring the green plants planted by a pool of water that isn't that clean.

Fetching little water from the pool, she sipped from it but threw it out in mixture of her blood.

Her mouth was bleeding because her mum was bleeding. Her sharp ribs got involved in pain because her mum's ribs got involved in it too.

Suddenly, the door banged open and the poor woman was pushed out by the angry man.

The girl quickly rushed to her mum's side, trying to comfort her.

"Don't worry, Mama. I'm always here" the three years old girl said.

Her mother, panting heavily dragged her close to her chest as they both stare at the man inside called her father.

His face calmed down as he saw the two hugging each other. Just like he was snapped back to reality, he realized what he has done and dropped the wood in his hand on the floor.

The mother cried like a child as agony rushed down her veins.

"Jenny... please"

*********

Twelve Years Later...

"Mali! Wake up! Need to tell you '

about your new school!" Her mother, Jenny, yelled from downstairs.

The fifteen year old girl groans as she struggles to stand up. Her eyes filled with water like she cried seriously.

"What is so important she'd wake me up this early?" she mumbled under her breath and coarse voice.

Meet Malien Smith.

A fifteen year old strict, impossible and not easy to relate with, girl.

Her parents got a divorce when she was three and since then things has been complicated and duplicating sometimes.

She's a hypocrite. Got two behaviors and she got a bad temper.

She had a quick bath and left to her mum downstairs.

"Good morning, Mum" she greeted.

"Morning dear, how was your night"

"Interrupted..."

Jenny seemed taken aback, but she smiled rather.

She slides some slices of toast to her daughter and a cup of coffee.

"So mum, what do you wanna tell me about?"

Jenny stopped eating and gulped really hard swallowing the chunk of toast in her mouth.

"Oh... Yeah... Umm... Mali, I couldn't find a daily based school" she said not daring to look at her daughter's face.

Malien squinted her eyes as she bites her toast, making sure not to miss a word that attempts to come out from the mouth of her mum.

"Mali... You gotta go to a boarding school"

The whole world seemed to drop on Malien hard.

She nearly choked silently as her eyes flew to her mum in a suspicious manner.

"I know it's a lot to take, Mali but..."

"Not just a lot..." Malien interrupted, squinting her eyes.

"But hard." her eyes automatically getting red with anger.

"I am not going to a Boarding school, mum. I know what I face there. All my life I have been a border, don't you care for me?" her voice sounding shocked and tired at her mum's attitude towards such thing.

"Fine. Have it your way. But know, Boarding school will sure be a waste of time..."

Malien withdrew from her seat as she took a step up the stair.

"So will you" she mumbled and left to her room.

Boarding school, Boarding school, Boarding Argh!

"Have it your way momma... Just know, I'm just a girl" She sighed.
