1 2030-07-27: Milla Valentiana

Year 2030. Alaska.

The on-going construction in the middle of this 16.7 million acres comes to a halt before it gets dark, everyday. But, for some reason, after they use the excavator, all of the workers start digging together, manually. It is the dead of the night, dark clouds looming with indiscernible stars in the sky; the fifteen workers finally bring the large rectangular box covered with thick soil to the surface.

"What if it contains gold and treasures, should we keep it?" One of the men asks.

A middle-aged man answers, "Of course! No one knows what we have discovered. Fortunately, the CCTV cameras around here aren't working for almost a week now. We'll all be rich!"

The men remove the soil and they see a damaged wooden box. Without stopping, they remove the nails and lifts the top-

*thuds* and drops it.

"What the f*ck!"

"F*ck! F*ck! F*ck!" All of them back away from the coffin and some end up sitting in the ground.

"Is.. that a.. corpse..?" The youngest of them asks in a scared voice.

"Why is there a coffin buried here? This is off-limits! What if we're being framed?!"

The oldest of the men bravely walks slowly towards the coffin, "We found this coffin buried deep underground, but there's no sign anywhere that it is recently buried. But, why is the body not decaying..? It's a woman, guys..."

Curious about what the man said, they slowly get close to the coffin. They don't believe what they are seeing, right now. It is a woman wearing very very old clothes, they never saw someone wearing these clothes except for special occasions. She's wearing a simple wool dress that reaches her ankles with a tinge of fading red everywhere especially on her top and her sleeves. They are most surprised with her beauty; her skin is as white as snow, her lips are naturally pink, her pointed nose and her long dark red hair.

Raindrops start to fall on their heads and faces as they look up to the sky. The youngest man never stops looking at the woman, so when a raindrop falls on her cheek; he sees her open her eyes, "Uhh... guys..."

"AHHHH!!!" The men look around them but don't see anything unusual and the rain is getting heavier. "Guys, where's Dan? And, did you hear that scream?!"

"Where's the body?! Where is she?!!!" All of them turn their heads at the coffin and feel like running away.

"What the f*ck is happening?!!! This isn't funny!!"

"AHHH-" "ACCKK-" "NOOO-" Bodies after bodies collapsed to the ground; either their hearts or heads detached. Some try to run but they can't outrun this beautiful beast. Some try to fight but they can only see a blur passing through them, cutting their lives. It is a night full of screams and pools of blood can be seen everywhere- the grass turns red, the leaves turn red, and the trees also.

In the middle of the dead bodies and pouring rain, stands a woman with stains of fresh blood all over her body especially her hands, who has no expression on her face but a fierce glare from her dark red irises, "Who dares to wake me up?"

"You shouldn't have done that. I told you to never wake me up, ever. You don't know what's coming." She scans the bodies and it makes her confused. She thinks, 'What's with their clothes? Why are their hairs so short?'

Afterward, she observes the surroundings and sees lots and lots of trees that are supposed to be very wide plains. She already drinks lots of blood because she's very thirsty. Then, she starts to run and run and run. If someone will see her, they will only see a blur then nothing.

She decides to go to her old home near where they buried her, well, near for her and not near for a normal person. She closes a distance of 4 million acres of land in only 2 hours and if a normal person tries to run this distance, it will take him/her four thousand days or more. Her house isn't there, even her neighbors, it's all trees and grass.

She continues to run until she comes in contact with other humans particularly those people who betrayed her. She arrives at a small town named Cordova, Alaska. There are no people on the streets because it's only four in the morning. But, a door suddenly opens and an old woman comes out with the garbage in her hand, "Oh, dear! You surprised me. What happened to you? Come in, come in."

For the first time, someone is concerned about her. So she follows the old woman inside, and the old woman is in shock, "Is that blood? Are you hurt? Wait, let me get you a change of clothes."

When the old woman leaves, she immediately goes outside and runs away. She swims to an island, to Hinchinbrook Island. As soon as she surfaces on the land, blurs surround her but not for her, she can see them in slow motion. The only thing she thinks about is, 'Why are they so slow?'

She grabs one of them, a man in particular, so they all stop, "Why are you all so slow? Who's your leader?"

The vampires' guards consisting of men and women look at the expressionless countenance of the naturally striking woman who is nonchalant about her wool dress turned red and drench appearance showing off her gracefully slim body.

"Are you all deaf, too?" The woman tightens her hold on the man's neck.

A short-haired vampire woman steps forward with her stretch-out hand, "Miss, what happened to you? Do you need help?"

"Do I look like I need help? Isn't it the other way around?" The woman lifts the man a little causing him to raise his feet, his heels off the ground, "Escort me to your leader. Right. Now."

Gathering his courage, the man talks confidently but the woman can feel that he's petrified, "We will escort you right away. You can let go of me now."

The woman pushes him effortlessly but he ends up bumping too strong with another man who is standing away from them. Then, she turns to the vampire woman, "Lead the way."

"Miss, can you tell me your name?"

The expressionless woman answers, "Milla Valentiana." The vampires glance at each other as they shrug and shake their heads.

"I'm Dianne and the man you grabbed is my brother, Dionne," She offers her hand while she smiles at Milla.

Milla cracks her head left and right which produces loud cracking sounds of her bones. The next thing they know, she has her foot on the back of a man lying on the ground as she twists his arm, "Do you want me to remove his arm, for you to all learn? I'm not stupid like the rest of you, I told you that you're all so slow. If you want to kill me or catch me, keep dreaming."

No one says a word or dares to move, thus Milla speaks assertively, "Are we clear?"

"I said, ARE. WE. CLEAR?" Milla pulls the man's arm a little but it makes him grumble, "Ahh-"

"Yes!" Dianne responds and the vampires slowly nod one after another. Milla grabs the man's top uniform with her two hands, then she easily lifts him up and throws him to two other vampires who catch him unsteadily. Dianne leads the way and all five vampires follow with no one left behind to guard by the shore. The vampires realize that they are no match for her, so their only advantage is to be plenty in number.

The vampires dash full speed but Milla seems like she's jogging lazily. 'Who is this woman?', that's what they all think. It only takes them five minutes before a humongous mansion comes into their sights. The mansion has a large fountain with colorful neon lights in the water and the sun is starting to rise, giving the mansion enough light.

They enter the mansion and lead Milla into the wide living room with a fireplace and elegant long couches. Milla sits directly at one of the single but not-so-small couches with a tall backrest. The six vampires who are standing in formation are dumbfounded because they can never do what she just did, even if they are the elite vampire guards.

The man from earlier who tried to attack Milla from the back talks to break the unbearable silence, "I'll inform the Vampire Royalties especially the Grand Elders."

"I'll come along, Captain," Dianne says as she walks with him.

The remaining vampires can not help but feel like they are sweating even if they're not. Milla suddenly speaks, making some of them jumpy, "The only woman over there, come closer."

The woman is about to move when Dionne stops her, but the woman removes his hand and smiles at him. "Lady Milla, do you need something?"

"What's with your clothing? It's too revealing," Milla's statement surprises the vampires because the woman's clothes are common. She is wearing a tight black v-neck shirt tucked in tight black pants and black sneakers.

Before the woman can answer, Dianne comes back with a black-haired lady wearing an off-shoulder light pink cocktail dress with a necklace full of diamonds and glittering gray heels. They consider her beautiful, but after they meet the simple and scary Milla who looks like the goddess of beauty and.. death, she can not even compare to Milla.
