Chapter 34

This last attack had rendered most of the forces dead, with about fifty left, including a few wimps who Yun Xie had spared, and were currently running away, regardless of consequences, and spear dude and his buddies, who were trying to do a "Last Stand" moment.

The tricky archer guy was nowhere to be seen. Most likely also ditched. Ah, loyalty, such a fickle thing…..

Standing there, Yun Xie stabbed his katana into the ground, waiting expectantly. The other soldiers did not know what to do, so they charged in a block formation, intent to kill. Xiao Li Shang brandished his spear, twirling it as he ran at the head of the pack.

"Soul Asper Spear: The Hundredth King!!!" Yelling loudly, Xiao Li Shang's vocal cords were cracking a little. He was probably the strongest of the current soldiers, being a genius talent from a large clan back in the Kingdom.

Using his Xiantian Physique, Sky Willow Physique, he shot forwards, swaying like the wind, drifting rapidly towards Yun Xie. The rest of them also came at him, in their bulky armor and majestic weapons. Finally now did Yun Xie look up, smirking as he punched down below, forming a literal crack in the air.

Xiao Li Shang's eyes widened as he beckoned for them to get back, himself, withstanding it head-on with his spear art, The Hundredth King. His spear became many, a sea of countless jabs flying towards Yun Xie and the crack of air.

"THOOM!!!!" He was sent back, spitting blood along with the rest of the soldiers, a shockwave thoroughly dealing damage to them. As they were off-balance, Yun Xie appeared before them once more, having sheathed his sword, he spoke, clasping his hands together.

"Domain Expansion: Chimera Shadow Garden."

Liquidos shadows seemed to spread across the ground like water, black as midnight, the soldiers, still rattled and disoriented by the shockwaves noticed that it felt like an ice-cold sludge of some sort. Out of the shadows, they came. Giant freaky looking toads, green in color, with bulbous white eyes, they clutched onto the Soldiers, beating them to the ground, trapping them in place.

(A/N: Honestly, I could use any other Shikigami, but I sorta wanted to stay to the original for this first one.)

Xiao Li Shang struggled, as his spear was pulled away and swallowed by a toad, which hopped away, back into the depths of this shadow-like sludge.

They were all that was left of the forces, besides them, only the Lie Zhan Hou would remain…..

"Hmm…." Yun Xie stood there since he did not have to use cursed energy or anything, due to [Bypass], he could stand here all day, giving the soldiers a beating of their lives.

Yun Xie, contrary to popular belief, was not a rampant murderer who would kill all people on sight. That was Li Qi Ye's job. For him, making people get beaten to a pulp by a bunch of larger-than-life toads was pretty fun though. Maybe he was a sadist. Even though he said before that he wasn't….. Though he thought it was just funny to watch people getting beaten up by Toads. For him, it was sorta akin to Trolling, in his previous life of sorts, people who trolled others in video games weren't considered sadists right?

Inspecting the battlefield, the earth, was now charred, smoke filling the air as a few random shrubs had caught on fire. Countless dismembered and gruesomely executed corpses were strewn about, but due to the pure heat, all the blood around had evaporated or burned into nothingness.

Looking up, Yun Xie saw the sun peering through the cloudy sky. It was probably around mid-afternoon.

Then, looking back at the idiots struggling in the shadowy marsh, he sighed. Yun Xie decided that he would just leave these losers in the Toad Hell for a while more.

(A/N: I'm being impatient again. So lemme try something different.)

He would just wait until the cliche zither thing happened, with Li Qi Ye going through his dramatic monologue, except…. Cao Xiong and Dong Shenglong would be somewhere else.... Basically, the War Sovereign dude would think that the two had ditched him.

For now, he'd just take a nap. Walking out of the scene of the massacre, he walked up to his Peak, walked into one of the peaks many rooms, conjured a futon, and fell asleep.

(A/N: Yes for timeskips. But it doesn't really matter, as in xianxia, for the most part, it takes quite a while for something interesting to happen… Short chapter because I felt like it.)
